Chapter 17

[Sendai-Date Dojo-Rai’s Room]

[12:00AM]

Then the sliding doors opened to show Yukina and Botan.

"There’s still hope everyone!" Botan said.

Everyone cried but got up and left the room, except Yusuke.

"There’s still chance for Rain." Yukina replied

"NO THERE ISN’T!" Yusuke cried.

"SHE’S GONE! RAIN’S GONE AND SHE’S NEVER COMING BACK!" Yusuke shouted. He then fell to his knees, still crying.

Yukina put her hand onto Rai’s forehead, "She’s barely alive," She turned to face Botan and Yusuke.

"In the next 3 minutes she’ll die but I can prevent that then she’ll live." Yukina assured the two.

Yukina started to heal while Botan clutched onto the rug.

‘Rain, you might be able to live!’ Botan thought, tears falling down her face.

Yusuke ignored them, "She’s gone and that’s that!"

Yusuke then slammed opened the door and ran down the hall.

Botan turned to face the opened door, ‘Yusuke, don’t hurt yourself…nevertheless kill yourself because of Rai.’

[Living Room]

Everyone cried loudly and some were holding each other. Takuya rocked his sister in his arms; Shun held Ariel and soothed her while Kai just walked outside.

Hiei had tears falling down onto the ground but they turned into jewels as well. Hiei then walked outside with Kai and disappeared into the night.

Kuwabara just sat on the couch, thinking to himself.

Kikyo held the depressed Narutaki and rocked him; just what Rai did when Narutaki was sad.

Yusuke ran out of the dojo, he held a knife in his hands.

‘I know this is stupid but Rai meant EVERYTHING to me! I can’t just go on without her!’ Yusuke thought as he ran outside.

Kurama got up and slowly walked down the hall, heading straight towards to his room.

Rai’s family went to bed (except Narutaki) and cried themselves to sleep.

‘I loved you Rai, why did you have to go?’ Kurama thought, more tears falling down his face.

He then walked into his bedroom and flopped down on his bed and cried himself to sleep.

[Rai’s Room]

"Yukina, hurry, I think Yusuke is about to commit suicide!" Botan panicked.

Yukina used most of her powers to heal Rai quickly and then…

Three minutes had passed.

Yukina wiped her forehead; "There’s nothing more I can do. All we can do is wait."

The two girls waited until…

"I better find Yusuke and quick! He’s about to commit suicide all for the sake of his cousin!" Botan screeched.

Then it happened…

"Yusuke…" It was Rai.

Both girls turned to face her; she slowly sat up in her bed.

"RAI! YOU’RE ALIVE!" Botan cried as she about to threw herself at Rai but…

"YUSUKE! DON’T COMMIT SUICIDE JUST BECAUSE OF ME!" Rai screamed. That was her first full sentence.

She immediately threw the covers off her body and out of the room.

"Botan, go get her! She’s not fully recovered and she needs her rest!" Yukina exclaimed.

Botan nodded and went to catch her.

[Outside]

[12:05AM]

"I can’t live anymore, I need you Rai. You meant the world to me and I can’t loose you again." Yusuke muttered as he held the knife above his chest.

"Forgive me, Rai, I know you didn’t want me to die like this but, I can’t go on with out you…" The knife was 2 inches from stabbing his heart but…

"YUSUKE! STOP IT!" It was Rai.

Yusuke ignored the voice, thinking it was just her ghost.

But…

Rai pushed the knife out of Yusuke’s grip, making it stab the ground.

Yusuke slowly turned around and his eyes widened.

It was Rai.

"YUSUKE PLEASE DON’T COMMIT SUICIDE OVER ME!" Rai cried. Her long brown hair came out of its ponytail and she wore a pink kimono.

Yusuke’s eyes had tears falling down his face and he ran to Rai.

"RAI! RAI YOU’RE ALIVE!" Yusuke shouted in joy. He held Rai in a gentle embrace.

"Yusuke, please don’t commit suicide EVER again. You mean too much to me." Rai cried.

"Rain, you’re alive. You’re back for good. Oh Rain; NEVER scare me like that! Rain, NEVER leave me again! Never leave Narutaki or I, we love YOU so much!" Yusuke cried.

It then started to rain and the rain fell on the cousins.

"Yusuke, I promise you, I’ll NEVER leave again. I love you." Rai whispered.

Yusuke smiled and gave her a kiss on her wet forehead, "I love you too, Rain Miri Urameshi."

Then a few figures appeared on the porch. It was Narutaki, Ariel, and Botan.

"ONEE-SAN!" Narutaki cried, he ran into the pouring rain.

Yusuke let go of Rai and she turned around, "NARUTAKI!"

He then ran into Rai’s arms and she swung him around in the pouring rain.

"ONEE-SAN YOU’RE BACK! YOU’RE BACK FOR GOOD!" Narutaki cried, the mixture of tears and rain feel onto Rai’s face.

"Oh Narutaki, I missed you so much!" Rai then held him tightly, not wanting to let go. She then put him down and Narutaki walked over to Yusuke and hugged him.

"RAI!"

Botan and Ariel ran into the pouring rain and had a group hug with Rai.

"ARIEL, BOTAN!" Rai shouted in joy as the two girls hugged her tightly.

"RAI I’M SO HAPPY YOU’RE ALIVE! I COULDN’T LIVE ANOTHER MINUTE IF YOU DIED!" Ariel cried.

"RAIN NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!" Botan sobbed.

Rai just smiled at them, "You’re the best."

"Rain!" It was Yukina and she ran into the torrential rain.

"Rain you’re still recovering! You must come inside and rest!" Yukina scolded.

Rain looked at everyone, "Is it alright if I stay in the living room? Since I got a LOT of sleep."

Yusuke then picked up his cousin, "Sure Rain."

Then everyone walked inside from the heavy rain.

[Living Room]

[6:30AM]

Everyone, who was in the living room before, who didn’t know Rai was alive had left and cried him or herself to sleep.

Everyone talked till dawn and still did. Narutaki fell asleep in Rai’s lap and she stroked his head.

Yusuke sat on the other side of her. Ariel, Botan, and Yukina sat on the other couch, talking and being merry.

"It’s so good to be alive." Rai commented.

Yusuke smiled at her, "It’s great that you’re back with us, too Rai."

Rai smiled and then a few certain figures walked in. Hiei and Kai came in from outside while Shun and Kurama came from down the hallway.

The four boys didn’t notice everyone sitting down on the couch, nevertheless Rai.

Kai then looked up and his eyes widened, "Miss. Rain!?"

That got Kurama’s, Shun’s, and Hiei’s attention and looked in the same direction of Kai’s.

"Morning everyone! How was your sleep?" Rai asked sweetly.

Then there was a loud screech; it was Sayuka.

"RAIN! MY NIECE IS ALIVE!" She immediately ran over to her niece and held her in an embrace.

"God has blessed us! Oh Rain, you’re alive! SAGE! SHINTARO! RAIN’S ALIVE!" Sayuka screeched tears fell down her face, still holding her niece.

"I missed you too, Sayuka." Rai smiled as she held her aunt.

Shun and Kai immediately ran over to her, "Miss. Rain!"

Kai got on his knees; "You’re alive."

Shun sighed in relief, "The lord has spared us."

Sayuka then let go of her niece and she kept on crying and smiling at the same time. The two boys then took Rai into a gentle embrace.

Yusuke wasn’t ticked off with this because they were her teammates.

The two boys then let go and smiled faintly.

Hiei and Kurama just stood there, so astonished and happy.

Sage and Shintaro immediately ran into the living room.

"RAIN!" Sage said happily as he gave her a huge hug.

"Thank god you’re alive!" Sage said as he held her tighter.

"Me too, oji-san." Rai commented.

"RAI-CHAN! YOU’RE BACK! YOU’RE BACK!" It was Mayumi’s and Kikyo’s shouts.

They immediately threw themselves at Rai and hugged her.

"We thought you would NEVER come back!"

"Rain, you’re alright." Takuya then appeared and gave her a gentle embrace.

Rai smiled until she noticed him, Shintaro Urameshi, her father.

Rai laid Narutaki into Yusuke’s lap and she got up and walked over to her father.

"Rain…" She immediately ran into his arms and he rocked her.

"Rain, I’m sorry for not being there for you! I’m sorry, how could you EVER forgive me?" Shintaro asked his sickly daughter.

Rain smiled, "Could you just be a father, who takes care of his children?"

Shintaro smiled, "Yes Rain, I will."

Everyone had hugged or held Rain except Kurama and Hiei.

"I’m back, everyone. I’m back for good." Rai whispered.

 'Rain...Ai shiteru forever...' Kurama thought as a tear rolled down his face.

'I love you, forever, my love...' Hiei thought as he held one of those gems in his hand tightly.
