Year 2156 ; MAKAI

Four youths, demons to be exact, walked alone through a dark forest. It wasn't night time, but the canopy of the looming trees above was just to great for the sun to penetrate and warm the moss. All were cautious for any movement among the trees, any noise from the air.

"Kali?" a woman's voice whispered.

"What?" growled the other woman, identified as Kali.

"How about we do something about these trees?" Each woman, much to the annoyance of their two comrades, walked to a nearby tree and placed their hands on it. A light red/pink color emmited from their hands for a moment, and then sunlight was visible on the forest floor. Both men looked up in awe. The trees had been cleared, giving way to the crystal blue sight of the sky above.

"Wow, that was cool." one of the young men said.

"You know, Christian," Kali said, turning around and causing crimson eyes to meet brown, "I could do the same thing with you. Only, it would be a death plant, and it would cause your blood to spill, not the sunlight."

"Stop it. You can do this when I'm not around to save either of you." the other man said, holding Kali back and glaring at Christian.

"It's no use Haru. Or rather, it's inevitable." The other young woman added, coming up behind her sister. Haru rolled his eyes and hung his head, dropping his arms. Immediatly, the bickering threats started again. The two walked out in front, leaving Haru and the young woman behind about five feet.

"You know," she said, "they fight so much, it almost seems like they're destined for each other."

"Do you really think so, Lee? That may be. That is, if they don't kill each other first." Haru said as he laughed. The rustle of leaves, a distraught bird caught Lee's attention. She stuck her arm out in front of Haru. "Shh."

Kali and Christian stopped in their tracks when they realized that Haru and Lee had stopped moving. The same rustling noise was heard again, only nearer this time. Each one of them was pivoting their head left and right, trying to figure out what it was exactly that had made that noise. And, well, they found out.
Two youkai of massive build, both with beady black eyes and three horns, were looking at the four. Saliva, probably poisonous, dripped off of their fangs. Both carried an axe, with stains from blood etched into the blades. Kali, Lee, Christian, and Haru took battle stances immediately.
When the first youkai attacked, they were ready. It gave an ear-splitting yell, raised its' axe. and charged. It was headed straight for Christian. Without a moment's hesitation, he raised his hands into a formation, and shouted, "Spirit Gun!"

The demon was gone. "Well, they may be B-class, but they're stupid as hell." he said as he lowered his hands, shaking his head.

"Hell isn't a living thing. Therefore, it can't be stupid. You, on the other hand, are a complete moron." Kali said as Haru and Lee finished off the other atrocity that attacked them.

"Yet, I don't have to be a complete moron to see that you have issues." he retorted, sticking his nose into the air. The trademark smirk that her mother was famous for appeared on Kali's face. "Hn." She turned around, made a portal, and walked into it.

SPIRIT WORLD

A young man looked up from his desk as a portal unexpectedly opened up in his office. "Did you manage to bring them back alive this time? Or, like Kali, did you kill everything that walked?" he said sarcastically, looking back down at his paperwork.

"You know, Alex, it could be worse. They could be like Christian, and try to screw everything that walks." Kali said, as she leaned against the wall and closed her eyes.

"Hey!" Christian protested, "I do not want to screw everything that walks..." he smirked, looking at Kali, "just you."

Kali then proceeded to mutter something under her breath. Two of them looked at her confused, but Lee and Haru burst out laughing. "What's so funny?" Alex asked. He had a puzzled look on his face as he cocked his head to one side.

[He looks so damn cute when he does that...] Lee thought as she said, "You don't understand Koorime. But if you did, you would laugh too."

[I heard that...thought of yours. I could send you some images if you'd like...]Aimilee looked at her sister, who opened one eye and smirked at her. "I called him a dirty pervert who needs to spend some time in Spirit jail. He could learn to be somebody's bitch. And then we'll see if he wants to screw everything." Kali said. Christian's face paled.

[No thanks.] Aimilee thought.

"Anyway," Alex started, waving them off, "Haru, your sister wants to see you. And all of you should get back to the mansion. I should have the next case ready in a few hours, a day or two at the most."

At the Mansion

"Cami? Cami!" Haru called as he walked up the hall, peeking into every room. A young girl popped her head out of a doorway at the end of the hall. "Haru, you're home!" she yelled as she ran up to him and latched her arms around his waist.

"Hey, sweetheart. Alex said you wanted to talk to me?" Haru asked, looking down into her blue eyes.

"Yeah," Cami said, "Mom and Dad want to talk to you. They said it was important."

"Okay. Do you want to come with me?" he asked her.

"Yeah!" she exclaimed.

"Alright," Haru said as he opened up a portal, "we'll be back in a little bit."

"Okay. Tell them we said hi." Aimilee said as they stepped through. The portal dissapeared.

Later that night...

It was nine-thirty, and Cami and Haru still weren't back yet. Kalika had been reading all afternoon, Aimilee had been, too, and Christian was god-knows-where, doing god-knows-what. Kali re-inserted her bookmark, closed the book, and set it down on the table beside the chair. "I'm going to bed." She said as she made her way into her room. "Night, Lee."

"Goodnight." Was the answer that emulated from the living room. Kali got changed into her pj's, which consisted of a plain black shirt and black shorts. She turned out the light, closed her eyes, and drifted off to sleep.

The next morning

The light seeping in from the window made Kali open her eyes too early. She rolled over, looking at her clock. It wasn't there. She lifted her head, and immediately knew something wasn't right. This wasn't her room. It was blue. Hers was black. Lee's was green, Christian's was red, Alex's was light brown, and Haru and Cami's room was white. She was lying on the bed, but it wasn't hers, either. She rushed to get up, opened up the door, and ran out to the living room.
Immediately, all attention turned to her. Four boys, a redhead, a blackhaired one, a carrot top, and a punkish-looking kid, were all staring at her. It was then that Kali realized that she was still in her pajamas. "Ummm....I don't think I'm at home anymore." she mumbled.

"Who are you?" the redhead asked. She couldn't believe this. Her father, her father! He was sitting right there in front of her! Where the hell was she? "Someone who's not supposed to be here..." Kali answered awkwardly.

"What do you mean?" the punk-ish asked.

Kali thought of something. "What year is this?" she asked.

"It's 2006. What year do you think this is?" the redhead answered, chuckling.

Kali thought for a moment. Oh, shit. Her eyes got wide with realization as it dawned upon her what had happened. What kept Christian busy all night...a time warp. Kali's face got red. She closed her eyes, balled her fists, and looked to the ceiling.

"CHRISTIAN URAMESHI! YOU SON OF A BITCH!"
