Two men were chained to a far wall in the darkness. One of them lay limp on the floor, while the other stared at all of you with tired eyes.
“Hideki..?” Kaomi said softly, running up to the limp man. He had shaggy, dark brown hair and you could see lighter brown eyes as Kaomi opened his eyelids to see if he was awake. His body was very well toned. You realized that this must be her stepbrother. He did have very similar clothes to Kaomi. You ran up next to her and stared down at him. He was covered with many deep wounds that looked as if they had been bleeding for days. If he was still alive, he wouldn’t be for long.
“Hideki! What happened to you?!” Kaomi shouted, trying to shake him awake.
“He was tortured...” the other man said in reply to Kaomi’s question. Kaomi turned to him, as well as everyone else. He looked very similar to Hideki, except that his hair was shorter and he had less wounds.
“Why..?” Kaomi asked softly. The man looked down at Hideki and sighed.
“Soushiki attacked the village in search of the Karai Amulet. When he saw that we didn’t have it, he took us to be tortured.”
“Soushiki did all this for the Karai Amulet?”
“Yes...”
You were starting to get frustrated, as well as confused.
“What the hell is this Karai Amulet thing I’ve been hearing so much about?!” you shouted, frustration clearly showing.
“It’s an amulet of great power, able to make its wearer immortal...” Kaomi said, looking down at her stepbrother. Finally, everything made sense, except for one thing.
“Why would Soushiki think that I would have something like that?” you asked. She sighed, then looked at you.
“We had stolen it a few hours before you died. Unfortunately, I was the one wearing it. If it had been you, you wouldn’t have died.” Kaomi said, not blinking as she looked at you. You were silent, lost in thought. Right now, you really wanted your memories back so you could understand better, but you were afraid of them being too much for you still and it would happen like before.
“We should go...” Tsunake said, clearly still a little fragile over the dragon incident.
“Tsu...Tsunake?” the other man said, eyeing Tsunake. She got a little pale and hid behind Kurama.
“Who are you?” she squeaked, still behind Kurama. The man’s face was at first surprised, but then, it seemed sorrowful.
“I guess you wouldn’t remember me. We knew each other when you were very young... I’m also a good friend of Hideki. My name is Miharu.” he said, still looking at Tsunake. She seemed to relax a bit at how open he was.
“Let’s get back to the temple.” Kurama said while Hiei melted the chains off of the two prisoners. Kaomi picked up Hideki and held him up by the waist, clearly determined to bear the weight alone. Miharu stood up, able to walk. When you got back to the forest, she opened up a portal.
“You’ll really have to show me how to do that sometime.” you said as the five of you stepped into the portal and left the Demon World.

“You guys went into a fight and you didn’t invite me?!” Yusuke whined when you got back to the temple. Tsunake was much more quiet than usual and Kuwabara had noticed. [A great moment in idiotic history.]
“Aw, why the long face, Tsunake? The fight wasn’t fun enough for you?” he teased with a large grin. You watched Tsunake’s muscles tense as he talked about the fight and there was an uneasy silence.
Suddenly, her fist flew out and hit Kuwabara squarely on the nose and he went flying into a wall.
“I forgot to thank you for getting my claws free from the tree.” she said, running forward to continue with her attack on Kuwabara. Everyone watched in amusement as Tsunake beat the hell out of him. He was screaming in a vert high-pitched voice.
“That’s what you get for doing something stupid.” Yusuke laughed. You turned to him and made a fist. He gave you a confused expression and stopped laughing.
“Notebook.” was all that you said, but he got the point. You tackled him to the ground and began attacking, just like Tsunake. Kaomi laid the still unconscious Hideki on the couch. She shrugged and jumped into the fights as well, laughing happily. The day ended with a light mood, accompanied by Kuwabara’s girly screams.

That’s it for today! Make sure to review or I’ll be sad. This is definitely not the end of the story so don’t abandon it. Well, until next time, sayoonara!
