Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Perspective ❯ Kubikukuri ( Chapter 15 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
I’m back again! Sorry about the delay. Busy busy I have been! LOL! Evil people at my school stole my Yu Yu Hakusho DVD that I had to get straight from Japan. That disk is different from the ones they sell in the US so it will cost about $100 to replace, if that’s even possible! Well, I’m going to quit babbling so you can enjoy the story!

Disclaimer: I don’t own Yu Yu Hakusho, you, Kaomi, or Tsunake.

The three of you woke up and went into the front room. Kurama began to open his mouth as Tsunake passed.

“It was a dare. Don’t think of it as anything personal.” she snarled, obviously still raw about the incident. He quickly closed his mouth. You were relieved that Hiei wasn’t around...yet.

“Tsunake, let’s get training.” Kurama said.

“I don’t need or want anyone’s help.” she said, walking out the door. He started to follow her.

“Wait... This is something that she has to do alone.” you said, completely surprised at the words coming out of your mouth. He stopped walking and nodded to you.

“Kaomi, I’ll help train you with your controller abilities then.”

Kaomi nodded and followed Kurama outside, leaving you alone. You stood there silently until you noticed a slight change in the air. You turned around and you came face to face with Hiei. (Oh shit!)

“Follow me. It’s time to train.” he said calmly.

Why hadn’t he chopped you into little pieces? You knew he was enjoying himself by making you paranoid. All you could do was wait for him to attack you as you followed him outside to train. You arrived at the training ground and stopped walking. Hiei unsheathed his katana and turned to you.

“Let’s work on dodging and blocking first.” he said, running at you with his sword.

Tsunake stood in the center of the forest, shaded by the branches above. She was deep in concentration, focused on nothing but herself. This was something that only she, alone, could do.

She stared down at her hand, claws already grown to their maximum length. As she stared at her skin, she noticed that it suddenly had turned a shade darker and faint outlines of scales were beginning to appear.

“Perfect.” she whispered, focusing even harder. (I need to be in control.)

“Focus on what you’re controlling. Before you try to manipulate it, let yourself feel its own energy. Connect your energy to its and overpower it to gain control.” Kurama said, patiently watching Kaomi’s attempts at controlling various types of weather.

She had mastered lightning, snow, and ice, but she was having trouble with wind. She was also growing very agitated over not knowing how to use her full power.

“Just relax. You’ll get the hang of it.” Kurama said as he watched enormous storm clouds gather above them due to her anger. She tried again. A thin, wispy tornado touched down between them, not strong, but visible.

“Now, to make it better.” Kaomi grinned.

You breathed hard after Hiei completed another attack on you. You had blocked one attack and dodged about three, but Hiei was officially kicking your ass.

“I’m sorry about what I did last night. Please stop being so hard on me.” you breathed.

“I’m not. If you think this is hard, you’ll surely die at the tournament.” he said and you gasped at his words, slightly afraid. “But now that you mention it, you need to be punished.”

He doubled his speed and came towards you. (Oh shit!) Was all that you could think before you were attacked again, with double the strength of the previous attacks.

The one month had passed quickly and you definitely had improved. No matter how fast Hiei went, he could not get out of your sight and sneak up on you.

You named yourselves the Yuujou Team. [I forgot what it means, so find someone else to translate it!] Your team wasn’t the champions for this tournament, so there wasn’t any fight on the boat to the island. The team that everyone expected to win the tournament, the Saikoo Team, was on that boat and was sure to slaughter all of the others. [FYI: All team names can be translated, except for one really obvious one.]

You arrived at the island at around midnight and the five of you stepped into the Kubikukuri Hotel.
“Never thought I’d be here again.” Kurama muttered as a demon bellhop took the luggage and led you towards your rooms. There were two rooms, one for men and one for women. You awed at how big the room actually was. The bellhop set down the luggage and began pestering Tsunake for a tip.

“Wow!” Kaomi said as she too stepped into the room. You heard a loud noise behind you and you turned around. The bellhop lay dead on the floor, his blood clinging to Tsunake’s claws.

“Why the hell did you do that?!” you shouted at her.

“You told me that I’d get to kill people!”

“Yeah, fighters. Not the fucking bellhop!”

“At least he was a demon.” Kaomi stated, interrupting your argument.

“Fine then, but I’ve got dibs on this bed!” you laughed, jumping on the bed nearest to the window. “Goodnight.” [Wow, you got over the bellhop thing pretty fast. O.o]

“Goodnight.” both Kaomi and Tsunake said in unison before climbing into their own beds. Despite your overwhealming excitement, your eyelids drooped and you were carried off into a dreamless sleep.
