Chapter 1: Rejection
Author's Note: Hey guys! Here's to the first fic that I've posted on here! Critiques are welcomed, but flames however are NOT!!! I'll simply delete them. Okay, now with that in mind, let the fic begin!!!
Warnings: Well, this is a NC-17 fic, so you don't need me to warn you of the possible risks and consequences. The rating is self-explanatory. Much sexual tensions and
lime-ness to come!!!
Disclaimer: Unfortunately, I do not own any of the YYH characters. Trust me, if I did, I wouldn't just be sitting here, writing about them…
“NO? But…I mean why? I came back for you, just like I promised!!! What more do you want dammit!!!!” He shouted, still in shock from her reply.
He stared at the girl, no woman, before him. She had rejected him, had rejected his love and his proposal. He knew she had acted cold and distant towards him since he had returned from Demon World, but he had convinced himself that she was still in some kind of shock. He knew she would always be there for him with open arms no matter what. That was why he told himself that he wouldn't screw up their relationship anymore. He was going to marry her and they would live happily ever after. How wrong he had been. His thoughts were broken when he heard a cold response from the woman he loved.
“I'm sorry it had to end this way Yusuke.”
He looked up at the sound of her voice and was crushed at what he saw. Empty, indifferent eyes had replaced those once beautiful, brown orbs that had at one point held such warmth and love for him.
“I'm sorry huh. I spill my heart out and all you can say is I'm fucking sorry!” he said as he gave a forced, bitter laugh, watching her flinch at the change in his tone. Good. At least she was showing some kind of emotion. He wanted her to see his bitterness, to see his hurt. Since the moment he saw her today, she had been so emotionless, so distant that it had hurt him. He didn't want this new her. Where was the girl he knew and loved? It was as if she was a new person altogether. It had not been easy for him to express his love for her, but he finally did it just moments ago and all she could say was “I'm sorry”??? What kind of answer was that!!! He wasn't just hurt now, he was pissed.
The 18-year-old stared on helplessly at the handsome man before her. He was right to be angry with her. Her heart broke along with his as she forcefully said those words of rejection. She didn't want to, she really hadn't, but in the end, she knew it was for the best. In truth, Keiko Yukimura was still very much in love with the raven-haired man. However, for some reason, the moment she woke up today, something within her died. It might have been her hope for Yusuke and her future with him. It might have been that she was just fed up with him and gave up. Or perhaps she was scared that this was too good to be true and she would only end up heartbroken once more. Whatever it was, Keiko no longer had any dreams of ever marrying or being with Yusuke, despite the fact that her love for him had not died, if that even made sense. She herself did not quite understand it, but all she knew, was that she had made up her mind to stay away from Yusuke. She had decided this morning to meet with him and end it once and for all. She wondered now why she chose to meet him in the park of all places. Maybe it reminded her of all the fun times they used to have here. Maybe it was just a random choice. She never expected him to propose to her. In fact, his proposal to her made her actions ten times harder to complete, but she had already chosen her path and she would not hesitate in going through with her decision. Not even Yusuke's once long awaited proposal would stop her now. She thought bitterly of what could have been if only he had declared his love for her earlier in time, but it was too late now. What happened had happened whether she had wanted it or not, so there was no use regretting and thinking about what ifs.
“Please…” She stopped and looked away, surprised that the word had come from her mouth. She had hoped that it had been too low and quiet for him to hear, but when she looked up, she found two blazing pools of hurt and anger staring back at her.
“Please what Keiko?” He said in a low whisper, giving her his full attention.
It took all she had not to cry at the broken look before her. She had to end this now and quick before he saw through her façade.
“Please…please don't make this any harder than it already is.” She said, a slight quiver in her voice, as she turned away from him and looked up into the night sky.
A cool breeze passed by, the bright moonlight shining on the two forms, as awkward silence thickened the air.
It's time now, I have to let go for the last time. Our marriage wouldn't have worked out anyways, something will come up and tear us apart. He'll leave and break my heart once again. I just know it. Something always comes up. She thought bitterly, as she got off the swing and stood up. This had been the hardest thing she had ever done, but it was over now. She took a few steps and looked at the back that was facing her. It was better that she couldn't see his face. She didn't want to right now. She just wanted to get away.
“I…I hope you'll find it in your heart to forgive me and…and maybe we can still be friends,” she said quietly, as she began to walk past him.
“Wait!!”
Huh?? She stood there in shock, feeling the tight, almost desperate grip on her wrist. Where had that come from? She didn't even see him move. Before she could even respond, he was there, in front of her.
“Yusuke, please!!” She begged, struggling to get out of his hold, but her struggle only made him more desperate, made him hold onto her wrist even tighter.
“Yusuke, you're…hurting…me,” Keiko said in a panicked voice, “Please, let me go. I-
She gasped as he pulled her into a tight embrace, burying his face into the crook of her neck.
“Please, stay with me Keiko, I-I love you…what more do you want from me? I'll change I promise, I'll do anything. Just, just don't leave me…I-I”
She felt his arms wrap tighter around her as he struggled to show his feelings for her. She was touched, could almost cry. She almost gave in when
no!!! I refuse to be like this again!!! This happens every time!! I try to end it, he makes promises he can't keep, and then begs for me to stay…and I fall for it every time…but not this time…
She looked up into his pleading eyes and gave a sad smile, pushing him back a bit. He allowed some space between them, but still trapped her within his embrace in case she tried to run.
“I'm sad too, but you have to let me go now okay? For too long I've waited for you and I don't want to be like this anymore. I don't want to always be uncertain, not knowing when you'll leave and when you'll stay. This-“
“I promise you, I won't leave you anymore Keiko!! I know I've screwed up a lot, but please, I'm…I'm begging you to-“
She brought a finger up to his lip, silencing him so that she could finish what she was saying.
“Maybe it was never meant to be…I know that one day, you'll find someone who can truly make you happy…because…I'm…I'm not the one. Perhaps…I never was…” She said softly as she looked straight into his eyes, giving him the stubborn look she always had when she had made up her mind. She reached up on tippy toes, wanting to give him a farewell kiss on the forehead, when
“OOMMMFFF”
Before she could even him the kiss, he reached up quickly and took her lips with his, sending a wave of passion and love throughout her body. She froze, not knowing what to do. Sure, they had kissed before, but never this intense. His kiss was hot and desperate, making her knees go weak. In fact, it was so desperate, so extreme, that it scared her.
“SLAP!!!”
She escaped from his embrace as he was caught off guard, and backed away, gasping for air. Keiko looked at her right hand, as if not actually believing that she had slapped him herself. She looked at her hand, then at his face, but his reaction was hidden as his
Un-gelled (sp?) bangs covered his eyes.
Before he could say anything, she turned away from him and ran out of the park, with the moonlight showing her the way. She needed to get away from him. She just wanted to go home and hide under her covers.
As Keiko ran down the street to her house, tears blurred her vision.
Good-bye Yusuke. This is the end.
Unbeknownst to her, a pair of brown eyes tinted with red had followed her distressed form, a smirk gracing his lips, as he rubbed the pink cheek that still held somewhat of a sting.
Damn, could she slap when she was mad. Oh well, he always did prefer the feisty ones.
He could have easily caught up with her, but where would be the fun in that? He would give her a head start. Then he would hunt.
This was not over. On the contrary, it was the very start.
A/N: And thus ends the first chapter. Tell me what you think people!!!
