Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Right Here Waiting For You ❯ Chapter 15 ( Chapter 15 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
~Story Start~
Storm clouds began to roll in over the once blue sky, gray now starting to over power it. It seemed as if nature was setting the mood for this last fight between Chu and Yusuke. Despite myself, I couldn't help but feel anxious and excited about the fight Chu wanted them to have. Call me a hypocrite if you want, but you have never been in this kind of Tournament, and I bet you never will, so you have no idea how this feels right now. I'm not saying I can't wait to see them punching the shit out of each other or see their blood or anything, but being a youkai, fighting and this kind of stuff is in our blood, it our nature and it's hard to go against it. Swallowing out of anticipation, I watched the two intently, wanting to know what kind of fight Yusuke would be going into now.
“Ladies and gentlemen that was incredible!” Koto said, watching the two as they stared each other down. “That was amazing, that was-that was-, I honestly don't know what that was but wow!”
Chu straightened up a bit, getting a mocking smirk on his lips as he stared at Yusuke. “You just blew all your Spirit Power there didn't ya mate? Now your as weak as any other ningen.” When Yusuke didn't answer or even respond, the smirk widened. “I'm right.” He stated.
“Maybe, but so are you.” Yusuke countered with a smirk of his own.
“That's probably true Drongo,” Chu said, not at all affected, and when he heard Yusuke chuckle, he continued. “Then we'll have to settle this fight like a couple of Mallee bulls.” He said, while I stared at him, not understanding his Australian words at all.
“I got the balls.” Yusuke said.
Crouching down, Chu reached into his fur covered boots, pulling out two knifes. Throwing them into the air and catching them again, Chu held them up, letting us see the perfect blades as they gleamed dangerously. ”Lets do this with a Knife Edge Death-Match.” He said, getting that look in his eyes once again.
Even though Yusuke had a smirk on his face, the tone he used let us know how confused he was. “A 'Knife Edge Death-Match'?” He asked, narrowing his eyes slightly, while I did the same, I never heard of that.
“Did he just say Knife Edge Death-Match?” A random youkai asked.
“This should be bloody.” Another said.
“A Knife Edge Death-Match, huh?” Kuwabara asked mostly to himself, crossing his arms over his chest.
My right eye twitched, annoyed at the name of the fight already. *I don't think people need to keep repeating it, we heard it just fine.* I thought, an irk mark appearing on my temple, geez its like no one can hear anything these days.
“What is that per-say?” Botan asked, turning to Kuwabara.
Looking down at her, Kuwabara answered. “I may have gotten into more than my fair share of street fights in my time, but I never heard of anything like that before.” He turned his gaze to Yusuke and Chu, Botan doing the same. “But if I had to guess, I'd say it involves a match to the death with those knives.” He said.
Getting a blank look, I stared down at him. “Really Kuwabara? What gave it away? 'Knife', 'Death' or 'Match'?” I asked sarcastically, not noticing the smirk that Hiei got when he heard my sarcasm.
“Well I don't know, it's just a guess!” Kuwabara said defensively.
“But just by the name anyone can figure it out!” I retorted, smirking in victory when he gave me a sour look. “Ha, it's nice to win, especially when I keep losing to that jerk.” My smirk dropping as I pointed over my shoulder at the fire youkai to my left, a blank look appearing again on my face.
“Use your brain, and you might come close.” Hiei said smirking, not missing a beat.
Getting an irk mark once again, I turned towards him, asking. “Are you saying that I'm dumb?” I rose an eyebrow, waiting for his response.
“Do I need to answer that?” He asked blankly.
Sucking in a deep breath, my eyes began to darken slightly out of anger, and before I had a chance to lunge, Kuwabara and Kurama grabbed me as I seethed. “Let me go, the bastard must die!” My hands clawing towards him, my legs kicking back and forth.
“Kira, please calm down.” Kurama said, sweat dropping at me.
Kuwabara nodded, eyes widening as he struggled to hold me. “You don't wanna miss Yusuke's fight do ya?” He asked, trying to get me to calm down.
I stopped struggling, and stared up at him with a confused look. “What are you talking about? They won't start their fight until those assholes up there decided that they agree to the Knife Edge rules.” I said, while the others returned my look.
“What makes you so sure about that?” Botan asked curiously.
Feeling myself being placed back on the ground, I crossed my arms. “Because the Tournament has specific rules, and they have to approve of any changes, why would they have rules if everyone could do whatever the hell they wanted?” I asked, giving them a 'duh' look.
Everyone, but the Masked Fighter, blinked in slight surprise. “That actually makes a whole lotta sense.” Kuwabara said, staring at me wide eyed.
“I do have a brain you know, even though someone wants to believe otherwise.” I said shooting Hiei a look.
Hiei gave me a bored look. “I say you're wrong.” He said bluntly.
Placing my hands on my hips, I leaned forward. “Well I say I'm right.” I said, smirking at him confidently, knowing that I would finally win an argument against Hiei with this. Thank you me for deciding to look up the rules for this tournament!
“Good for you.” Hiei said sarcastically.
Glaring at him, I crossed my arms again. “When I'm right, you'll be sorry.” I mumbled.
“I'm sure.”
“Oh just shut up.” I mumbled, crossing my arms over my chest as I gave him a miffed look. However, I didn't say anything else about it and pouted.
Looking back at the ring, seriousness seeping into us once again. “Let me take this opportunity to remind everyone that no weapon is off limits. That includes swords, axes, small rodents, but what is Chu planing to do with those two knives?” Koto announced, watching as Chu walked towards Yusuke, plunging the knife into the ground in front of him. We all stared down at the knife and at Chu, wondering what he was doing. “How odd that Chu has stabbed his knife into the ground instead of into Yusuke, I say it's odd because the last time I checked the ground doesn't bleed nearly as much as a person.” She said, watching as Chu did the same over at where he stood moments before.
Turning around, Chu looked at Yusuke. “Take off your shoes and put your foot in front of the knife.” He instructed, kicking off his boots, and placing his right foot with his heel in front of the sharp edge of the blade.
Nodding hesitantly, Yusuke did as he was told and pulled off his shoes, throwing them to the side. Placing his right heel in front of the sharp edge, both fighters stared each other down again, eyes narrowed and showing complete focus. I narrowed my eyes at the knifes, flinching as I could already picture what was going to happen. My foot actually felt like it was getting pierced with a knife, and that was not a good feel to try and experience.
“Well now what is he making Yusuke do?” Botan asked, narrowing her eyes as well.
Kuwabara just shrugged.
Everything became silent as we watched the two stay in their stare down. The wind was beginning to pick up, making me really think that the weather was trying to set the mood for this whole match. The clouds, the wind, and the coolness of the wind that was blowing. I swallowed thickly once again, finally becoming serious once again, and I watched Yusuke with a worried gaze. He better be all right, I'm not sure how he can die in this fight, but I don't care, I want him to be Ok.
“The edge of that knife is the edge of your world, that is the only rule of a Knife Edge Death-Match. You don't step outside that line, if you do it's sudden death. And I mean death, we fight with our bodies, no weapons. The winner is the last bloke standing, you think that you can handle that?” Chu asked, his hands slowly closing into a fist.
Yusuke smirked as he looked up. “No sweat.”
“Excuse me sirs,” Koto interrupted, a nervous look on her face, while I smirked. “But it's really not up to you to make the rules around here. We have a reputable Tournament committee that gets paid to do that.” She said, but before she could explain anymore the youkai in the stands began to shout protests.
I turned towards Hiei, my smirk now a wide grin. “Well, well, well, look who was right and look who was wrong. What do you have to say for yourself, Hiei? Will you admit that you were wrong? ” I asked happily.
Hiei just glared as he looked off to the side, and that was all I needed.
I threw my hands in the air. “Yes, I finally win, after so fucking long I win!” I turned to Kuwabara, giving him a high five as he laughed at Hiei's miffed look, not even caring about the deadly thoughts racing through the fire youkai's mind.
“And Shorty was so confident, too!” Kuwabara laughed, pointing at Hiei.
Hiei's eyes narrowed into slits. “It would be wise to keep your arm away from me before I cut it off, Baka.” He growled, making Kuwabara instantly move away, a nervous look quickly falling over his face as he let out a forced laugh.
“Don't mind him Kuwabara, he's just a sore LOSER.” I said s I smiled, only making Hiei glare harder. Ha.
Rinku smirked as he stood up, making us stare at him, forgetting our moment. “Man I sure hope they let them do it, Chu kicks ass at the Death-Match. He's never lost one of those before!” He said, and that pricked my ears, making me let out an annoyed sigh. Does everything have to make me worry? Apparently, yes.
“Hey?” Kuwabara turned to Botan. “Does no weapons mean Urameshi ain't allowed to use his Spirit Gun?” He asked, confusion in his beady eyes.
Botan stared up at him, eyes narrowed seriously. “It wouldn't matter, his Spirit Energy is all gone.”
“Oh...” Kuwabara mumbled. “Yeah, that sucks.”
I sweat dropped. “You don't sound too concerned there Kuwabara.” I said rather bluntly, making him smile at me sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head with his hand as he gave out a nervous laugh.
“It takes solace, Chu has also exhausted his Spirit Energy.” Kurama spoke up.
“Now that the fight has been reduced to hand-to-hand, it will be the one with the strongest head that prevails.” Hiei explained, while I winced at the images that appeared in my head. The ruthless beatings that each of them took, their heads bloody from all the head shots.
“There's no chance.” Kuwabara said immediately, looking at Yusuke's back as he continued to stare determinedly at Chu. I was about to raise my hand to smack Kuwabara over the head, annoyed by his lack of faith for his friend and teammate. However, what he said next made me stop and smile at the ningen, even though he is a baka sometimes. “Urameshi show that lush what you got left in ya!” He shouted.
Turning away from them, and away from the two fighters that stood as still as statues in the ring, my eyes rested on the huge yellow screen above the tallest stands in the stadium. There on the screen was the score that had been steadily growing during what seemed like hours since we started this match. Four circles and one 'X'. However, the score wasn't what everyone in the stands, as well as Koto, were staring at. It was the two blank boxes that were under the score. Those two boxes would hold the decision the committee was debating as we speak, about if the Knife Edge Death-Match would really take place. I didn't want to take my eyes off it for a second, feeling very anxious about the whole thing again. Dammit me for being such a big worrier, I was so not like this in the beginning of this stupid story! I wanna be less serious, you here me?!
(A/N: Fine! Geez! ...Bitch... )
I felt like I was about to rip my hair out of my head, the fucking suspense was killing me! I was just about to do that as well, but the sound of a little melody echoed across the stadium, over the shouts of annoyed and impatient youkai. Looking at the screen once again, there was a huge 'X' in the decision box, and my mouth fell open. Are you fucking kidding me?! I glared at the screen with all the hate that I had in my body, why the fuck would they do that, the Knife Edge Death-Match didn't even have complicated rules, it was punch someone until he's dead or knocked out, simple. But did these assholes think so? No they did not! I swear I'm going to give those bastards a piece of my mind one of these days, and I promise all of you they will die by the end of this Tournament, you wait and see!
“What the hell?!” I shouted, an irk mark pulsing on my temple. “Those god damned mother fuckers!”
Hiei rose an eyebrow at me. “I thought you were worried about the Detective.” He said, and I looked at him, a little surprised that he would even speak to me after I won our little argument. Which I win, sorry I just love the fact that I finally did it. :)
“I am, but god damn it I want this day over with!” I looked at the screen. “You better change that decision, or I'm going to shove my katana up all your asses and make you spit out daggers!” I shouted, an anime mad expression now on my face, making the others stare at me strangely. Did I just change my personality in just a matter of seconds? Yes, yes I did.
“Kira,” Kuwabara said slowly, watching me pant heavily. “I don't think the last part made too much sense.”
My irk mark was going away, and the anger was now going down, despite what everyone saw just seconds before. “Don't care, that felt good.” I said through deep breaths, and everyone just sweat dropped as they stared at me blankly. Aw, I love my team.
“Everybody, please remain calm!” Koto said desperately. “I promise you'll see people torn limb from limb soon enough, if you'll just keep the peace!” More shouts of boos and threats could be heard from the stands, but everyone's attention was pulled towards the screen as the big 'X' disappeared. “Wow, it looks like the committee is repealing their initial decision, and is now considering wither the Knife Edge Death-Match will come into play.” She said, surprise in her tone, this must not happen often.
I smiled widely. “Wow, they actually heard me!” I said happily, turning to the others.
Kurama gave me a small smile, sweat dropping slightly. “I'm not so sure, but it was a wise decision all the same, I guess.” He said, thinking about the threat I had almost screamed not that long ago. That would have hurt...
The area was quiet as everyone watched the screen anxiously. Koto walked forward, her face towards the sky that was now covered in dark clouds, lightning flashing again.“This latest development is quite ominous, the storm clouds are clashing just as these fierce opponents are destined to do. And when their awesome bodies collide, there's no telling who will be struck down first!” She said smiling.
Our eyes were now turned to the two fighters that stood ever so still in the ring. They did not look away from each other the whole time this was going on, not even when the decision was made just a few minutes ago. I watched them in amazement, I don't think I could be so focused like they were just now, or let alone stand in the exact same position for over five minutes. However, my thoughts ceased when I heard the loud crack of thunder over head, and lightning fell from the black clouds. The lightning was so big and vivid, it was completely yellow, almost blinding me for the second time today. Despite that, I watched as it split into two, slamming into the two knives that stuck out of the ground. I covered my eyes as the lightning all but exploded, it crackling around violently. And through out this whole thing, neither of the opponents in the ring moved an inch.
“Damn! Talk about dramatic!” I shouted over the crackling as it died away.
The last bits of lightning crackled along the ground, it slowly fading into nothing as the strong wind rolled by once again. I uncovered my eyes as Koto raised her head, and everyone watched the two, well not everyone I mean. The stands were now filled with pissed off and impatient youkai, their shout of anger now louder than they were before. They were practically screaming now, and they were only a few moments away from breaking into a riot. If that happens, it will not end well, I can tell you that.
“Oh.” Koto mumbled as she turned to the screen once again, only to turn back towards the stands a second later. “Please stay calm people, just a moment longer! I promise just another minute!” Despite that, it only made them shout louder, and angrier. “Come on, I'm sure the committee will make a decision! Just another minute, wait for it!” She shouted loudly, making me flinch. Damn.
Hiei, Kurama, Kuwabara, Botan, the Masked Fighter and I all stood silent among the scream filed stadium, the clouds making the stadium almost completely black with darkness. Our worried/blank/patient stares all watched the screen with unwavering focus, which was rather surprising for me, however I was glad that I had enough will power to keep my eyes on the screen and my katana in my sheath, because those fucking youkai were getting very annoying. I knew that low class youkai got angered easily and were extremely violent for their own good, but that didn't mean that they could act like complete and utter savages! ...All right, forget what I said, just ignore me, I'm in a weird mood today. My random thoughts were cut off -again-, by the sound of that melody and my eyes lit up instantly as I saw the decision that the committee made. A huge O, hell yeah!
“Yes! Ladies and gentlemen get ready for some plain brutality!” Koto shouted through the darkness, and the lights that were above the stands and pointed towards the ring turned on instantly.
It was a good thing that they did because the two boys in the ring quickly began to punch at each other mercilessly. They didn't even show that much pain as they were punched in the gut, face, and chest repeatedly. I was shouting from the sidelines, pumping my fists in the air to encourage Yusuke to knock Chu flat on his ass. I have no idea how my personality changed so quickly, but I was so glad that it did! I think I would have driven myself crazy from all that worrying, now I just wanted to enjoy the fight and watch Chu go down!
“Go Yusuke, kick his ass! But don't kill him, he's cool!” I shouted, smiling.
Hiei's ears twitched at that, and he threw me a glare. “Onna, you know it's not wise to leave an opponent alive.” He said, slightly annoyed.
“But he's cool!” I retorted, crossing my arms as I glared.
Hiei got an irk mark, and began to raise his hand, but Kurama stopped him. “It would be best to let her have her way this time, she seems determined.” He said, sweat dropping slightly, making Hiei do the same. Hiei lowered his hand once again, stuffing it in his pockets.
“Hn.”
Looking back at the ring, our moment done, Yusuke and Chu were still going at it. Despite myself, I was actually now taking back what I said about not caring, this was actually too brutal to even watch anymore. Just watching them beat the shit out of each other almost made me feel sick to my stomach, I don't even know how Koto can even stand doing her job. If I was her, I would have quit on the first day, I couldn't stomach being the ref for a Tournament like this. No wonder they call it Dark...
“This is extremely impressive!” Koto shouted, microphone to her lips. “Those men are giving it their all without taking a single step backwards!” She was smiling, and that only made me wonder even more.
“It's taking a step forward that will be hard.” Kuwabara mumbled to himself.
Punch after punch, all of them hit, none missing their mark even the slightest. I flinched when I saw either of them get punched in the gut or face, seeing blood fall from their lips and cheeks again. Bruises were covering their bodies, making this look even more painful than it already was. I don't even think that is possible, but this a story, so anything can happen really. ...Back to the fight, blood was falling not only from their faces, it was also from their heels. From the forces of the punches, they slid back slightly, making the sharp edges of the knives dig into them, cutting up the skin easily. I cringed and almost gagged slightly as more blood spilled from the gashes in their feet. That is so gross! (A/N: It really is!)
“Hit him Chu!” Rinku shouted out, making us look at him as he punched his fist in the air as he was getting into it. Are all these people so into fighting that this is entertaining, there are some sick people in this world! ...I mean worldS.
I stared at him blankly, calling sarcastically. “What do you think that their doing? Dancing?”
Rinku shot me an annoyed look, but he quickly smirked, recalling my quick temper. “I bet that's what you thought...” He trailed off smirking wider, and I narrowed my eyes, he better not. “Idiot.”
...
“Let me kill him!” I shouted, lunging towards the small seven year old, only to be held back by Hiei and Kurama, once again. How they were ever able to hold down a girl who was in blind rage was completely unknown to me, and they have my respect. Yes, even Hiei.
“Kira, be serious please.” Botan said, narrowing her eyes at me.
Kuwabara nodded behind her, crossing his arms across his chest. “Yeah, Urameshi still is only human, he could still die.” He said, and I shot him a glare with an anime mad face appearing.
“Thank you, Kuwabara!” I shouted, making him laugh nervously and step away.
I stopped my struggling, looking away from the red haired ningen to my left, and crossed my arms childishly. Hiei and Kurama set me down, knowing that I was now going to act like a child for the next few minutes or so until I got bored, they knew the routine by now. Although, despite my 'angry' mood, I did feel bad for them, they've had to deal with me acting crazy for 15 chapters, I still don't know how they kept their sanity. ...Or me for the matter... You know what, lets just get back to the story already.
“Could this battle possibly get more brutal than this?!” Koto suddenly asked, making all of us look at her once again. “Let's just hope that it can people!”
“Whoa!” Kuwabara said taking a step forward, watching the battle with wide eyes. “Are you watching this?” Botan and I looked at him, confusion in our eyes, and worry as well. “I've never seen anything so impressive in my life, to them it's like nothing else exists! Such focus, its the pain... I wish that were me in their, this is no longer a fight between two guys, this is stuff legends are made of! I could watch them fight for hours!” He said, amazement in his tone.
I stared at him, debating if I should say anything or not... You know what? Screw it. “Did you really have to make that sound so dramatic, their only punching the shit out of each other. It's not that amazing Kuwabara.” I said rather bluntly, my expression blank.
Kuwabara didn't look at me. “You wouldn't understand.”
“Good, because that's stupid.”
“...Uh huh.” He mumbled distractedly, in his own little world as he watched the two fight in front of him.
“I hate him sometimes.” I said, turning to the others with an irk mark on my temple.
Hiei rolled his eyes at me, although he secretly hid a smirk, he just loves to piss me off. “Just shut up and watch the fight Onna, no one cares.” He said in a bored tone, eyes still watching the two fight with little to no interest at all. Or so he wants us to believe...
I smacked his arm. “Shut up.”
Smirking as he flinched, I did as he instructed and watched the two, ignoring his piercing glare on me, although that was hard. Again the sick to the stomach feeling began to churn inside of me, I grimaced and scrunched my nose up in distaste at the fight before me. How Kurama and Hiei could watch this with blank expressions was truly amazing, I can't even keep a smile on for a second when I see this. And I usually smiling like an idiot all the time, because I'm me, but... well you get it. Suddenly, the sound of someone running behind us reached my ears and I turned around. Keiko was running towards us, tears in her eyes, along with fear and worry. All three were for Yusuke, and it was quite obvious why.
Keiko suddenly flung herself at Kuwabara, wrapping her arms around his waist, making the taller ningen break from his world and look down surprised. “Hey...Keiko.” He said awkwardly, his eyes wide, an his heart going a million times a minute.
“Kuwabara, you have to make Yusuke stop fighting!” Keiko shouted, now standing in front of him, her fists closed around his school uniform tightly.
Kuwabara now decided to be dumb. “No way, why would I do want to do that?”
*What an baka!* I groaned in my mind's voice, letting my palm slowly slide down my face as I glared at him out of my peripheral vision.
It was obvious she didn't like that at all, and began to shake Kuwabara with all her strength. “Because if you don't stop him, Yusuke is going to die!” Keiko shouted again, anger seeping into her tone, and she slammed her fists against his chest. “Again!” She added for emphasis.
“I'm sorry Keiko, but it's not an option.” Kuwabara said gently, grabbing her shoulders.
Keiko looked up at him, tears forming again. “Why...not?”
Kuwabara looked away from her, dropping one hand from his shoulder as he looked at Yusuke and Chu, eyes narrowing seriously. “Cause Urameshi made a promise, and now everything he lives for is hanging on his ability to fight. Not too long ago we faced off against a very strong fighter, his attacks still haunt me, I think they haunt Urameshi too. This guy was insanely muscular, and completely unstoppable.” He said, and I glared at the picture of Toguro that appeared in my head. Damn him.
“And that's who he's fighting now?!” Keiko gasped, eyes wide with fear again.
Kuwabara shook his head. “No, Chu's tough, but not that tough. He's nothing compared to that other guy.”
“So, then we shouldn’t worry.” Keiko tried, wringing her hands nervously, her eyes keep glancing at the young ningen in the ring, flinching every time he would receive a hit.
“I wouldn't say that,” Kuwabara said, eyes narrowing slightly as if he was recalling something from his fight with Toguro. “Urameshi could definitely still get killed by Chu, besides winning this fight is only his first step in taking on that guy again.”
“What?!” Keiko shouted.
“I'm not really suppose to talk about this stuff, but an honest to goodness ring match with Toguro is the only reason we came here to fight.” Kuwabara said simply, not at all affected by the startled and angry look directed at him.
“Oh, bu-but why?” Keiko asked softly, looking at Yusuke with worry filled eyes. “It sounds like you don't even have a chance at beating him.”
Kuwabara hesitated slightly at that statement. “Well Keiko, lets just say we don't have a choice.” I frowned at that, both because I was mad and because I was scared. I hated the fact that Toguro forced us to fight in this damn Tournament, and I only frowned harder when I watched Yusuke again.
Keiko looked back at Kuwabara. “So, who won the first fight?” She asked.
“Well Urameshi and I worked together, and knocked Toguro down, put a sword through his stomach. We left him for dead, but it turns out he faked getting beat for some kind of pay off. Then the guy shows up again and forces us to fight him here for real. Urameshi has to fight Toguro again, more than that, he wants to. You see Keiko, it's our only chance to settle this, then and only then we'll know whose stronger than who.” Kuwabara clenched his fist tightly as he rose it, and looked at Keiko again. “And that is why I owe it to Urameshi not to step in there now and save his life!” He shouted.
Keiko looked at the match that we all were watching, and I was surprised that she never flinched at what she saw. Chu and Yusuke were sending their strongest punches towards each others heads, not even trying to go for the gut anymore. It was on top of the head, the left cheek, right, forehead, chin, everything that was on their faces were hit. Although, neither of them even cared, they were actually laughing. I was just staring on with wide eyes, not even wanting to understand why they were laughing at all.
Botan raised her hand to her mouth, a look of horror and disgust on her face. “They're so evenly matched, it must end in a stalemate or it might never end at all.” She said, her voice soft.
“No,” Hiei spoke up, and I looked at him, and being the only one to do so too. Wow, that's a bit weird, and slightly awkward... “I'm certain they're both standing on their last legs, it's almost all over. The weaker one will crumble soon.” He said calmly, not even noticing me. Thanks.
However, I didn't stay looking at Hiei for long, mostly because what he said was true. They were at the end of their lines, for lack of better words. I turned back to the match just in time to see Chu slam his fist so hard against Yusuke's face that the impact echoed across the stadium loudly. Kuwabara, Keiko and I all gasped, stepping forward, not liking the sound of that at all. It was a surprise that Yusuke was even standing after all of that! One punch like that, if it had been me, I would have knocked flat out on MY ass. Getting that picture out of my head, my eyes widened even more as I saw Chu lower his head towards Yusuke's a surprising speed. Aw shit!
“Yeah, no one stands up to Chu's trademark head butt!” Rinku shouted, a smug smile on his lips.
I ignored him as I watched Yusuke catch himself, pushing his heel against the blade once again, and I winced as he did the same thing. Knowing of Chu's intentions, Yusuke glared up at his opponent, and raised his head quickly, and a loud smack was heard when their foreheads collided with the others. I hid a groan, almost feeling a headache coming on from all of that. However, I continued to watch as they stayed in that position, glares meeting glares as they bared their teeth in concentration to see which one would drop or not. And I almost let out a squeak of surprise when I saw a piece of lightning fall from the sky once again, only this time it landing on Chu's knife. I could hear the gasps from everyone on my team -except for the Masked Fighter-, and Rinku, our eyes narrowing with anticipation.
We all watched in silence as we stared at the two, and we all saw who the victor was when Chu's eyes rolled to the back of his head. Letting out a groan of pain, Chu's body fell to the side, and when his head came in contact with the cement of the ring, it left a pretty big sized crack in it. Everyone was silent no one moving for a second, save for Koto. She walked towards Chu, and began to point her finger down as she counted.
“1!...2!...3!”
“Yeah !” Kuwabara suddenly shouted, jumping in the air. “That was the most exciting finish I've ever seen! I told you the one with the strongest head would triumph Hiei! And I had faith in Urameshi all along!” He shouted happily, a goofy smile on his face.
I sweat dropped. “Weren't you the one who said the one with the strongest head would win?” I asked, looking at Hiei.
“Let the Baka have his moment, Onna.” Hiei said back monotonously.
“...4!...5!...6!...7!”
Yusuke stood in the same spot he had been for over ten minutes, finally letting us see how tired he was. He was staring down at Chu's unconscious body, and he let out a weak laugh. “I guess your better suited for tapping kegs than tapping heads, mate.” He said breathlessly, and I couldn't help but laugh slightly at that.
“...8!...9!...10!” Koto shouted, smiling at that last number as it passed her lips. Walking over to Yusuke, she held his hands up, announcing. “The winner of this match, and the winner of the battle is Team Urameshi, led by Yusuke Urameshi!” She shouted, and I for the life of me couldn’t seem to figure out if the youkai were pissed or happy, but I didn't really care enough!
Kuwabara and I suddenly ran onto the ring, running towards Yusuke as he stepped away from Koto, dropping his hand. I smiled widely as I reached him, for two reasons. 1, this stupid fucking day can be over with, and 2, we just won our first match of the Tournament! Suck on that Toguro! Shaking the thought of Toguro out of my head, I stopped next to Yusuke, Kuwabara about to do the same thing. I knew these two were best friends, even though they don't like to admit it. ...Well we all knew that, but still shut up!
“That was incredible Urameshi!” Kuwabara said with a huge smile as he stopped by me. “Hey man, how you holding up?” He asked.
Yusuke gave us both a thumbs up, mumbling an, “Eh.”
I smiled up at him, poking his forehead softly. “How does your head feel? That looked like it hurt like a bitch.” I said, my smile only getting wider as Yusuke gave me an 'annoyed' look, swiping at my hand. “Aw, you should be smiling, you won!” I said sticking my tongue out at him, dropping my hand to the side.
“You're not the one who got head butted by an Australian lush.” Yusuke retorted.
I rose an eyebrow at him, and gestured towards my chest. “You think that's bad? I got five fucking razor sharp claws through my chest! I think that beats out a head butt any day!” I said annoyed.
Yusuke only snickered until I hit him over the head. Jerk. “Aw, bitch.” He mumbled shooting me a glare.
“You deserved it.” I said with a smirk, walking back towards the grass.
Kuwabara, deciding to ignore what had just happened in front of him, made everyone's attention go back him once again. “Yes! We can't be beat!” He shouted again, jumping in the air with that same goofy smile on his lips.
I landed on the ground, walking over to my spot that was in between Hiei and Kurama, smiling happily. I could go to sleep, I could have a nice relaxing day before we have to fight again, I could do whatever the hell I wanted! I was so happy that I just wanted to eat ice cream all day tomorrow and watch these shows that Yusuke and Kuwabara showed me back in Ningenkai. They were so cool, and there was one that I really liked, called Bleach! Bad ass people with swords killing these freaky ass things, what else could you want in a show?! Besides, I watched it because these two people called Sai and Toshiro needed to get the fuck together and kiss already, dammit! (A/N: Ha! Another reference :D)
“Urameshi...” A familiar voice spoke, making me break from my thoughts and look at the ring with wide eyes. Chu was sitting up in the ring, man were we lucky that he stayed down for ten seconds or I would have been pissed! “We agreed to fight a Death-Match, mate.” Chu said looking down for a second, and when he looked up, he stared into Yusuke's eyes. “Finish me off.”
I stared at Yusuke, not seeing his expression change. “You better not, he's cool!” I shouted, ignoring the glare that I got from Hiei, it's not like I would listen to him anyway!
Yusuke ignored me, and he let a small smile form for a second. “Nah, we'll fight again when you're better.” He said giving Chu a thumbs up.
“Good boy!” I shouted smiling, until I got smacked upside the head. “Ow, bitch!” I cursed, but laughed nervously when I saw the evil glare being directed at me. I sweat dropped, rubbing the back of my head slowly as I corrected myself. “U-Uh...bastard?” I tried, only making Hiei glare harder. “What the fuck do you want me to say?! I am not a mind reader like you, you know!” I threw my hands in the air, glaring at him with an irk mark on my temple.
“Baka Onna.” Hiei mumbled with a roll of his eyes.
“Otoko.” I shot back, glaring harder.
Hiei sighed.
No one in the ring even paid attention to us, although it was rather hard not to, seeing as how I have a big mouth, but they managed to do it. “You're ripper,” Chu said after a moment of shock, smiling up at the teenage ningen before him. “It's been a dead set honor Urameshi.”
“Likewise pal.” Yusuke nodded.
Yusuke walked towards Kuwabara, who helped Yusuke walk, having his heel cut really didn't help his walking much. I looked back at Yusuke, smiling as I saw that Chu was still alive and that he was smiling too. However, the smile dropped from my lips when I heard all the boos being directed at the two people still in the ring, Chu and Rinku, who apparently ran onto the ring to check on Chu. Sure they didn't win, but they sure put up one hell of a fight, and their the only survivors of their team, they deserves a lot of credit. Hell, even Rinku is starting to seem cool to me, not as cool as Chu, but in his on little annoying kid way.
“Demon fans are so stupid, a while ago they were cheering for them to win.” Kuwabara said with a glare, stopping in front of us, and I couldn't help but nod in agreement, I really hate my kind sometimes.
Rinku glared as he looked at the stadium filled with youkai, hearing them yell boos and threats towards him and Chu. “Hey, if you wanna piece of us, why don't you come down here and take it?!” He shouted to all of them, no fear in his eyes, and I smiled at him. Aw!
I stopped, seeing Yusuke shake, and I knew why. “Shut up!!”
All of the shouting had stopped, and all of us turned towards the crowd, all of us wanting to hear what Yusuke had to say to these assholes. “If you idiots got something to say, say it! But say it to my face, or else say it to my fist!” He shouted, smirking as he held up his fist.
All of us, yeah and I mean Hiei in this too, were glaring at the youkai that we faced, and if our glares could kill, they would all drop in a millisecond. Youkai like them deserved a lot worse than glares, but we were more civilized and intelligent than them, and we weren't going to stoop to their level, unless they made us. The youkai didn't nothing, didn't utter a word or move a muscle. They just stared down at us, not even trying to start up another round of death threats and boos. I had to hide my smirk when I heard nothing from them, but I kept the glare on.
“Toguro.” Yusuke suddenly mumbled, making me tense up.
I followed the glare that was in his eyes and I saw Toguro and this really freaky black haired dude on his shoulders. Next to them was a man with long black hair with a metal mask in front of his mouth, covering his nose. I glared harder, until I saw Yusuke move out of my peripheral vision. Glancing over, I saw him give Toguro the finger, a smirk on his lips. I smirked as well, not at all scared by him right now, I know I was being cocky, but fuck to being scared, we just won and I am so going to act like it! Suck even harder on that Toguro, because when this Tournament is over, we'll make sure you ass is dead like it should have been!
Ending it here!
