~*~*~*Story Start*~*~*~
The crowd roared with cheers and threats, excited about this match, as if they came just to see it. I stayed in my same exact position, still nervous as I watched the two in their stare off. Both were smirking like they had been before, and every passing second was making me really anxious. And the serious glares that were still coming from Hiei and Kurama were not helping at all. So all I could do was keep praying over and over in my head that Yusuke would win and be OK, I do not one of my friends to get hurt or die, even if they will get hurt in the Tournament. I know I've said that before, and hating that I couldn't do anything for them, but you would be just like me if you were with four people who you consider precious friends and seeing them get the shit knocked out of them or almost die. -I don't include the Masked Fighter, seeing as how I don't know him, but I don't want the poor guy to die either, he isn't even related to this at all, he just go dragged into this.-
“This is so exciting, I've never heard such an uproar for an early fight. I can't hear myself, I could say horrible things and no one would know it.” Koto said, looking at the crowd in amazement, hearing their cheers and shouts of death.
Deciding to be un-serious -if that is even a word-, I thought. *I wonder if she knows we can hear her.*
Seconds passed and everything seemed to grow more quiet, letting Koto speak once again. “Ever so slowly the crowd is calming down, and it seems the same is true for Chu.” Koto said, looking at the tall man. “Why, his previous glazed over eyes could almost be called sober.” She announced.
Looking at Chu, I could tell she was right. He wasn't falling over, burping or laughing like he had been a few minutes before. I swallowed thickly, the hair on the back of my neck standing on end. “Suddenly I fear this Chu guy won't be so easy.” Botan said, worry in her tone, apparently feeling just like me.
“Yeah, I hear ya.” Kuwabara said with a nod, his eyes narrowing on Chu with a serious expression.
"I'm already nervous as it is, don't say things like that!” I whined, looking at both of them with a distressed look on my face.
“Sorry.” They both mumbled apologizing.
Giving a slight nod, I looked back at the ring. *Don't get cocky Yusuke, just kick his ass.* I thought, knowing how Yusuke is when he gets into a fight, and that's not always a good thing, especially up against someone like Chu.
“You know,” Chu said speaking up, making all of our attention go to him. “I've heard lots about you, course I think you're just a scared little kid that gets lucky.” He said, earning a glare from Yusuke, who clenched his fists and teeth in anger. “Now, now, try to loosen up.” He said in a teasing tone, noticing the glare he was getting.
“Now!” Koto shouted. “Let the fight begin!” Throwing her arm down, signaling the start of the fight.
The second that Koto said that, was the second that Chu's Spirit Energy went up. A burst of purple Spirit Energy formed around his form, letting us know how strong he really is. I took a step back, and for two reasons. 1) It was strong as hell, but not a strong as Toguro mind you, and 2) because something didn't feel right with it. Me being a mid C class youkai did not help with the situation, his Spirit Energy despite it being like Toguro's made me want to curl up in a ball again. At times like these, I hate knowing that I am weaker than the youkai here. I am stronger than Kuwabara, who I believe is strong but just doesn't execute his strategies in the right way to make it work, but you get what I mean.
“At last, he shows himself.” Kurama said with narrowed eyes. “I've never sensed Spirit Energy of this kind.”
I nodded, wringing my hands out of habit. “Me either.”
I watched as Chu smirked cockily, something that could match Yusuke's. “Watch closely, I want to know what you think of my stumbling little feet.” He said, his smirk growing wider.
Just as he said, Chu began to stumble from side to side. However, this was different that what he did last time, this was completely different and on a whole other level. As he got into his 'groove', Chu suddenly disappeared, making all of our eyes widen, especially Yusuke's. My eyes darted around the ring, trying to find the surprisingly fast Chu, but I made sure that I had my sights still on Yusuke, just so I could warn him about any surprise attacks. However, as I couldn’t find him, that was making me really nervous for Yusuke, I am so no helping!
“What the...?” Yusuke gasped, eyes darting around anxiously, trying to keep up with Chu's speed.
“That guy's fast.” Kuwabara said in amazement, eyes wide.
“Notice how his body flows.” Kurama instructed, never taking his eyes off of Chu for a second, his eyes narrowing every passing second.
“Yes, and his speed only adds to the problem, good luck trying to hit him.” Hiei said nonchalantly.
"You know." I started. "I think we should always come to you for a pep talk, you just know how to lift our spirits." I said sarcastically, throwing a glare at him. Hiei opened his mouth to speak, but I quickly cut him off. “Don't even say it!” I shouted, eye twitching at him.
“You know it's true, Baka Onna.” Hiei said, rolling his eyes.
“Oh just shut up,” I mumbled, looking back a the ring with a pout on my lips.
I quickly grew serious again, watching as Chu circled around Yusuke's form. Although I can't really say I actually saw him, seeing as I could see about six Chu's at once. This wasn't good for Yusuke, seeing as he kept having to turn around, or turn his head just to try and see which one was the real Chu and which wasn't just a trick of the eyes. Just watching him look so confused and angry was really killing me, man I really want this match to be over.
“Finally Chu started acting serious!” Rinku said across from us, a smug look on his face, his arms behind his head.
*He calls this serious?!* I thought, staring at him shocked.
“Wow people, I guess the loon has talent after all, his moves are so fast and bizarre, I can't even tell where he is.” Koto shouted, rubbing her eyes as she tried to find Chu.
Yusuke continued to look around, his eyes furrowing in annoyance and confusion. He still couldn't find Chu, and it was really starting to grate on his nerves. However, his eyes widened slightly when he saw Chu appear out of his peripheral vision. Chu pulled back his right fist before letting it swing towards Yusuke's head, putting all of his weight into it. I almost looked away, but stopped when I saw Yusuke pull up his hands, letting is left arm take the hit. He slid back slightly at the force of the punch, and grunted in pain, wincing slightly.
Chu smirked at Yusuke, noticing how he was now defenseless against another attacking. Bringing his left hand up, he shouted. “Have another cop!”
I flinched at what I saw next, making me hold my stomach as I could almost feel the pain. Chu brought his left hand back before sending it into Yusuke's gut, but because he was so fast, he was able to do it four more times. I almost missed it, but I saw it, seeing as how it was in the blink of an eye. The force of the punches sent Yusuke into the air, and I could tell by the look on Chu's face that he wasn't done yet. And I was right. Chu appeared by Yusuke's left side, slamming his left elbow into Yusuke's neck, making him shout out in pain. I clenched my teeth in anger as I watched Yusuke crash into the ground, his back landing hard against the stone surface.
Taking my eyes off of the ring, I saw a slight smirk on Hiei's lips. Glaring at him, I said soft enough for only him to hear. “You're complimenting Chu, aren't you?” Noticing his smirk widen, my right eye twitched. “You are a bastard you know that?” I asked, not caring if he didn't answer.
“Even from this killer view, I couldn't track Chu's strange moves, but I suspect that we missed some of Yusuke's fantastic agony. “ Turning around, Koto looked towards the monitor that previously held Chu and Yusuke's pictures. “Lets check with our slow motion instant replay feature!” She exclaimed happily.
I narrowed my eyes slightly. “Slow -whatever the fuck she said- feature?” I mumbled, highly confused.
“You really don't listen, do you Onna?” Hiei asked, sweat dropping.
I shook my head. “Nope.”
I watched the monitor with the others, watching Chu's painful attack being replayed in slow motion like Koto said. I winced at every punch I saw 'Chu' send 'Yusuke', it looking even more painful than the first time. “Yes, Chu actually gave Yusuke five quick wallops before finishing with a to die for hit to the back of the neck. Amazingly painful, don't you think?” Koto asked, turning to the crowd, who quickly agreed.
“What a beating.” Botan mumbled worriedly, staring at Yusuke's fallen form.
Kuwabara clenched his teeth in anger, watching Yusuke as well. “Yeah, he's not even fighting back.” He said, the anger clear in his voice as it was in his face.
“No, don't count him out yet, Yusuke's stronger than this.” I said, trying to convince myself too.
Chu walked towards Yusuke, smirking down at him. Yusuke's eyes were closed and he made no movement, making it look like he was knocked out. “Had enough have ya?” He asked, his smirk growing wider as the seconds passed
However, it was wiped off when Yusuke opened his eyes, revealing a fierce glare. “Of course not!” He shouted, getting to his feet without using his hands. Chu stumbled back as his eyes widened at the sight of Yusuke. Getting a smirk of his own, Yusuke ran at Chu, his fist clenched. “The game has just begun!”
Throwing his clenched fist, Yusuke aimed at Chu's face. However, Chu just smirked, moving away from the attack easily, as if he didn’t even have to move to dodge it. Clenching his teeth in anger, Yusuke quickly followed Chu's movements, throwing more and more punches at the at Australian man, but said man kept dodging and dodging. I was quickly growing frustrated and worried at the same time, wishing Yusuke would just land a punch on Chu and knock him out. I was really hating this match and I just wanted it to be over.
Growing another smirk, Chu moved around the ring, as if his feet weren't even touching the ground. Throw after throw, Yusuke shouted out in annoyance as they only his air. “Would you stop jiggling!”
I hid my laughter, annoyed that I found that funny. *Dammit.* I thought, my lips quirking upwards.
{You are such a child.} Hiei's voice spoke.
*I know.* I thought back with a sigh, frowning at my behavior.
Stopping my thoughts before I distracted myself, I rose my eyes to the ring once again. Watching just in time as Yusuke threw a punch, missing once again. However, Chu disappeared not even a second after that, reappearing behind the black haired ningen. Yusuke's eyes grew wide before he turned around, catching the kick that Chu swung at him. But, just like before, Chu countered the block with a punch, this time to the face. Yusuke grunted, falling back slightly, but caught himself. Chu didn't let him recover and threw punch after punch at Yusuke's face, making blood fly from his lips.
With one more punch to the face, Yusuke stumbled back, but caught himself. The distance between the two fighters wasn't large, but he was at least out of arms length of Chu, letting him catch his breath. Spitting to his left, Yusuke wiped a bit of blood that feel fro his lips before he ran at Chu head first. Letting out a shout, Yusuke pulled his right fist back, and when he got close enough, began to throw punches again. Chu kept dodging, just like he had been for the most part of this fight, making Yusuke grit his teeth in anger once again. However, he kept throwing and throwing, wanting to get at least one punch off of his opponent.
“Try using your feet, or your elbows maybe! Yeah, he wouldn't expect that!” Kuwabara shouted, raising his left fist as he got into the fight as well.
Yusuke narrowed his eyes even more as he continued to throw punches at Chu. “Kuwabara, do me a favor and shut the hell up!” He shouted, and on the word 'up', Yusuke let another punch fly, this time actually hitting Chu in the face.
“All right!” Kuwabara shouted with a smirk, not caring for what Yusuke said.
Smiling as I watched Chu fly a good few feet, I shouted as Chu slammed down onto the ground. “Yeah, Yusuke you got this, kick his ass good!” My nervousness now gone, replaced with cockiness.
Yusuke didn't acknowledge my shouts of encouragement, staring at Chu's fallen form as he panted heavily. But his eye widened once again when Chu's body disappeared, leaving the spot he had been in bare and empty. Feeling a movement behind him, Yusuke turned to see Chu. Chu stood tall, before Yusuke could react, Chu let his left leg slam into Yusuke's side. Yusuke let out a shout as he flew out of the ring, sliding against the grown as he ripped up the rocks and dirt. His shouts only stopping as he connected with one of the walls that stood before the crowd, breaking it into pieces.
“Yusuke!” I shouted worriedly, my hands to my lips in horror.
“My, such a delicious attack, I wish we had time to watch every blow on the Instant Replay Screen, suffice to say Yusuke Urameshi has been buried in a pile of rubble!” Koto shouted, standing next to Chu, who smiled in satisfaction.
“Uh, did anyone else feel that?” Kuwabara asked, his eyes wide with fear. “Chu must be five times stronger than that brat I went up against. Oh we're in some trouble!” He said., voice shaking slightly.
Biting my lip, I looked back up at the ring, a glare in my eyes as I looked at Chu. But that dropped when Chu suddenly burped, falling over and onto his ass, like the drunk he was. I resisted the urge to throw my head against the wall and beat it over and over again until I passed out from blood loss or from my head splitting open and killing me. I didn't understand how this guy could cause me to be so scared, but he did and I hated that, seeing as how the guy is completely wasted and beating the shit out of my friend!
“Hey Foxy, can you lend me a hand?” Chu asked, motioning Koto to move closer to him, and when she did he grabbed the microphone from her again. “Right I still need another one!” He shouted, but fell back, apparently dizzy.
Koto took back her microphone, explaining what Chu meant once again. “Let me translate again, as with all Sui Ken fighting masters, Chu gets more affective the more he drinks. I believe he is asking us to be more patient while he requires the rest of his clumsiness!” She shouted the last part, getting pulled by Chu, who began to bet her head. Apparently it began to tickle, seeing as how she began to laugh uncontrollably, while Chu just smiled.
I groaned, catching the attention of the others. “Why can't the drunken bastard just pass out form all of that alcohol? It would make life so much simpler!” I asked, although I didn't mean the 'drunken bastard' part, but I was getting fed up with this.
“Don't worry Kira, Yusuke will finish this.” Kurama said, putting his hand on my shoulder.
“He better, Yusuke's really making me worried.” I mumbled, placing my hand on his, it calming me down a bit. I couldn't help but notice that I got a strange feeling, like a glare was on me as I did that. When I looked, however, I saw no one looking at me. Strange...
“What are the chances of you and me getting together lady?” Chu asked, letting Koto go as he patted her on the shoulder.
Koto just smiled, saying. “Slim to none.”
“Hey love birds, he's out of the ring!” A random youkai shouted, making Koto jump to attention. Literally.
Koto jumped to her feet, glaring at no-one in particular as she said. “Oh wake up jerk, I was just checking on Chu to make sure he was fit to fight! Now moving on...1!” Koto said, putting her hand down as she counted, and raising it to repeat the same thing.
“I hope Urameshi doesn't get stuck out of the ring like I did.” Kuwabara said, all of us narrowing our eyes in either worry or anticipation.
“...2!”
“But you're already winning by two points, what difference would it make if he lost now?” Botan asked.
“...3!”
Kuwabara blinked, not thinking about that. “Oh yeah, but Urameshi still wouldn’t like it if he lost his first fight of the Tournament.” He said, trying to think of a reason.
“...4!..5!”
Chu stood up, looking at the rubble. “Come on now kid, I thought you wanted to see some challenging techniques. I ain't done nothing bonza yet.” Chu said, although he didn't seem to be too displeased about it, seeing as how he was smirking.
“...6!...7!...8!...9!-.”
On the count of 9, the rubble that held Yusuke suddenly burst, causing the rocks to fly everywhere. Everyone looked on with wide eyes as we watched Yusuke front flip in the air, landing on his feet in the ring. If I wasn't so happy, I would have called him a show-off, but right now I couldn't give a shit! We were back and we were going to have a three point lead instead of just two! That will show those other youkai that we aren't push-overs, we'll kick any ass that we can get, and we'll make it hurt too! ...Man I'm really getting into this, aren't I?
“That was close,” Yusuke said, rolling his shoulder back and forth. “I could've been killed if I didn't guard myself.” He said, smirking, not looking bothered at all by the thought of almost dieing.
“Oh I get it, the old 'see-it-coming-and-block-with-the-shoulder' trick!” Kuwabara smiled, putting his arm around Kurama's shoulder. “What a champ, right?” He asked, smiling at the also smiling Kurama.
I smiled, happy to see Yusuke all right, but my ears picked up a distinct yell from the crowd. “Yeah! Rip him a new one!” Turning around, I saw Keiko standing up, pumping her fist in the air.
“Go Keiko!” I shouted with a laugh, noticing her grow embarrassed by something Shizuru said.
Looking back at the ring, I saw the two fighters staring each other down, again. Yusuke was smirking, while Chu didn't look too amused. “One dumb mistake, and I'm pushin' daisies, right?” Yusuke asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah, pretty much kid.” Chu said, arms crossed.
“You know, this whole life or death thing, I'm starting to like it.” Yusuke said, licking his lips, chuckling. “Let me guess, you too?” He asked, hearing Chu also chuckle.
“Never any interest in playin' if it ain't for keeps.” Chu replied.
Yusuke smirked, rolling his left shoulder back once again, releasing a few stiff muscles from Chu's last attack. “That's good drunky, we finally found something in common.” He said, keeping his eyes on his opponent, ignoring the impatient look Koto was sending them.
“You guys can fight at any time!” Koto reminded.
Yusuke didn't respond to her, just kept smirking as he rose his hand. His pointer finger was straight out, while his thumb was up, making it remind me of those guns Tarukane's guards had. Light blue Spirit Energy formed around the tip of his pointer finger, making both Chu and I stare at it confused and shocked. And before anyone could think, a beam of blue Spirit Energy shot out of Yusuke's finger. It heading...straight towards the ceiling of the stadium. We all watched it connected with the dark ceiling, bits and pieces of it falling in chunks, slamming down on some innocent youkai who didn't have enough brains to get out of the way.
Kuwabara was the first one to react, seeing as how I was too busy staring at Yusuke with my mouth open. “H-Hey, why the heck did he got and waste his bullet?!” He asked, staring at Yusuke in confusion.
“Good question, I assume it wasn't a matter of bad aim.” Botan said, looking at him.
Finally snapping out of my stupor, my right eye twitched rapidly. “...What the fuck was that?! That wasn't even close to hitting him! I swear to who ever the fuck is up there that if that ceiling didn't fall on those youkai, I would have been so pissed off!” I shouted, an irk mark on my temple.
“Wait,” Kuwabara spoke, staring at me strangely. “If those demons didn't die, you would have been mad?”
I nodded stiffly. “Yep, don't question me.” I said, taking in deep breaths.
Cue sweat drops.
Yusuke didn't seem to hear anything I had said, and put his finger to his lips, blowing on it. “My Spirit Gun, you better get to know it.” Holding up his hand, three fingers lit up at the tips. “I got three more left, and one could probably kill you. Not too long ago I could only fire one of these a day, but I was just so scrawny back then.” He said, his cockiness showing once again.
“Just like Chu, Yusuke has introduced his move before using it on his enemy. But this is the Dark Tournament not the Happy Game!” She got an annoyed look, throwing her hand up. “Where are the dirty cheats, the black mail, the back stabs?!” Koto asked/shouted, eyes narrowing.
Kuwabara glared, clenching his fist in annoyance. “Darn it Urameshi, I'm the one whose got the Honor Code, you copier!” He shouted, glaring at the black haired ningen.
Chu laughed, eyes closed. “Everyone's shoutin' at ya now, you wanted a fair fight?” He continued to laugh again, but he suddenly turned a bit green in the face. Stumbling back, Chu held his hands over his mouth. “I think that purp I drank wants to come back and say hello.” He mumbled, making everyone sweat drop.
Putting my hand to my forehead, I sighed. “Who else feels like this is going to be a long match?” I asked, looking at everyone with a tired expression.
“I do, I can't tell if either of them are taking this seriously anymore.” Botan sighed as well.
Kuwabara crossed his arms, still a little annoyed by Yusuke's 'code'. “Yeah, but at least we got to see one of Urameshi's moves.” He mumbled, glaring at him slightly.
“Yes, it's beginning to get interesting.” Hiei said, smirking.
I stared blankly. “Of course.” I mumbled.
Swallowing down the bile that began to rise in his throat, Chu wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. “Right, it's about time, you got your secret technique. Ok, that's that, I got mine.” He said, standing up straighter as he got serious once again.
“I can't believe it, he's really gonna do the move, and so soon!” Rink shouted in disbelief.
Chu got into a stance, reaching towards his back with his left hand. All of us, even Hiei, narrowed our eyes at the taller man, wondering what kind of technique he would use. The smirk that was on his face wasn't helping either, when ever an enemy smirks that's never a good sign. I looked at Yusuke, seeing him grow serious as well, his eyes narrowing like ours. Good, at least he was beginning to grow serious about this fight. Chu has proven to be a lot stronger than any of the other fighters, and shouldn't be taken lightly.
“Watch me carefully, it's complicated.” Chu said, the smirk still there.
Botan narrowed her eyes in confusion, turning to Kuwabara. “So what's his special technique he's so proud of?” She asked, pink eyes shining with confusion and worry.
“I don't know but it must be good as much as he's building it up.” Kuwabara said, looking down at her.
I shook my head, my eyes have open and staring blankly. “It's gonna be stupid at first, seeing as how that's been the case for the whole fucking match, so don't be surprised when that happens.” I said, not at all amused anymore. I'm telling you, if I kept worrying I would have gotten gray hairs, and I don't want that.
Chu smirked, pulling out a gray tin, it's body curved inward slightly, with a little cap on top. “This is the strongest Alkie ever made, it's called Ogre Killer.” He said, tossing it in the air, and catching it in his hand again.
“Of course, it's beer, shocking.” I said blankly, my eye twitching slightly.
“Oh yeah people, that's some strong stuff. Take a sip of that and you'll wake up in jail the next morning in the arms of a hairy youkai you really don't wanna know.” Koto said, watching Chu take the top off of the tin. Putting the tin to his lips, Chu chugged down the whole thing without a second thought. “And he's definitely taking more than a sip!” She gasped amazed, eyes wide.
Finishing his Ogre Killer, Chu threw the empty tin at Yusuke's feet, making the ningen glance at it before throwing a glare back at him. However the affects of drinking it came quicker than expected, but something was off about it. As Chu stumbled back, his Spirit Energy rose greatly, the purple Energy forming around his body as it flicked like fire. The sky around the area grew red, but not the demonic blood red color that Hiei did. Although, this could greatly match up to this, seeing as how Chu is much stronger than he was just seconds ago. My body tingled, and sweat trickled down my temple, and I instantly regret saying anything about this being stupid. With the power he has now, I'm sure he could give Toguro a run for his money, not win, but you get what I mean.
“What?!” Yusuke shouted, taking a step back, feeling the Energy as well.
Koto stood in shock, watching Chu's form. “Something very strange is happening, the entire stadium is being eclipsed by Chu's aura.” She announced.
Chu wasn't responsive, or even moving for that matter. All he was doing was staring a the ground, his face shadowed over like Hiei's was when he came back from the 'dead'. Chu's Energy was growing more and more, the purple color getting brighter by the second. The flicking of the flame like Energy grew as well, and I had to take a step back, not liking the feeling of this Energy or what the Ogre Killer was doing to it.
Botan put her hands to her chest in worry, looking at us. “What's happening to him?” She asked.
“Don't know, just feels weird.” Kuwabara said, glancing at her.
Taking in a shaky breath, I swallowed thickly. “I take back what I said before, I think Chu's really becoming serious.” I mumbled, goosebumps rising on my arms.
Chu lifted his head, his eyes closed as he groaned, his Energy growing wild. Whatever that Ogre Killer was doing to his body must have been very painful, seeing as how his face contorted in discomfort. However, I stared at him, seeing something happening to his body. He began to shake from what I could see, as if the whole ground was shaking underneath him. I looked at Yusuke who kept his narrowed and guarded gaze on his opponent, hoping that he would be ok and survive this.
“The entire audience can only wait in a hush as Chu reveals his technique. Dare we hope for something truly horrific?” Koto asked, stepping back, away from the groaning man.
Chu's body began to grow even muscular than it already had been, the veins in his arms bulging out. I grimaced at the sight of the over muscular build he was getting, but remembered that Yusuke could really get hurt in this fight, maybe even killed seeing as how Chu was getting stronger by the second. Everything became silent as we watched Chu throw his head back, groaning louder than before, his hair being tousled like it was in a hurricane or a storm. The crowd continued it's silence, afraid that if anyone spoke something back would happen. However, we all watched as Chu stumbled back. His hands flew to his mouth before he ran to the side of the ring...throwing up.
I anime fell, along with Koto, a sweat drop going down my head, but I instantly recovered, sitting up with a pissed look on my face. “God mother fucking dammit! Why?!” I shouted, anime tears threatening to fall.
Botan and Kuwabara got over their similar state, and held in their laughter. “And you said it was going to be stupid so 'don't be surprised when that happens'.” Kuwabara said smirking down at me, it only growing wider as I shot him a death glare.
“Shut up Kuwabara, or I'll shiv you.” I said, an irk mark pulsing.
The others stared at me strangely, Hiei being the only one to ask the question that was on their mind. “What the hell did you just say?” He asked, raising an eyebrow at me.
'You heard me.” I said, looking at them all with narrowed eyes.
Kurama sweat dropped. “I don't think this is the right time to be discussing this, Yusuke is still fighting you know.” He said, although he couldn't help but smile slightly, even he can admit that my random outbursts are entertaining. Even if they happen to appear at the wrong times, and right now seems to be a prime example of that.
Rinku let out a sheepish smile, sitting down in the grass as he rubbed the back of his head. “Oh brother, I need to start telling Chu to bring a bucket or something when he uses his special technique, it happens every time.” He said nervously.
I wrinkled my nose in disgust. “That's really gross, I wouldn't use that technique if it maybe me puke every single time.” I said, feeling a bit squeamish, I always feel sick when someone throws up.
“Agreed.” Kuwabara and Botan added, both disgusted ad well.
“It may be necessary for him, I don't suppose he would like making himself sick for no reason.” Kurama said, eyes narrowing at Chu's hunched over form by the ring side, suspicion in his jade-hued eyes. I, as well as the others, nodded at what he said, he's always right.
“I guess.” I mumbled.
Running over to him, Koto rubbed Chu's back as he moaned. “Need anything Chu? A wet towel maybe?” She asked concerned.
“He may feel pretty terrible now, but actually Chu's becoming invincible.” Rinku spoke up, looking at Yusuke, making everyone's attention go to him. “His secret technique isn't the drink of course, it's the true form the drink brings out.” Rubbing his nose, a smug look came over his face. “I witnessed it once when I was being attacked by a big group of youkai a while back. I would have been killed if Chu hadn't come when he did. The only thing he did was take a big gulp of beer and that was all he needed. He beat the whole gang with one shot, and now that he's powering up, you'll be just another chalk mark on his wall.” He explained, smirking wider.
We all narrowed our eyes, turning our gazes back onto Chu. What Rinku just said did not help us feel any better about this whole match. “By the way doll, you sure smell great.” We heard Chu said, wiggling his pinky at Koto.
“Yeah?” Koto asked smiling, rubbing her hair. “Must be the shampoo.”
Chu finally stood up, this time without wobbling, acting as if he was sober. “Now back to the biz.” Chu said, looking over his shoulder at Yusuke, smirking a smirk I couldn’t help but feel bad about. Yusuke thought so too, tensing up slightly.
“Suddenly he's sober again,” Kurama said, eyes narrowing further. “Alcohol does not affect him in the normal way. Some how it serves him as a catalyst. ”
“Hn.” Hiei said, nodding.
Botan looked, pink eyes shining with worry as she looked a Chu. “How odd, so the chemicals in those drinks actually bring out his Energy.” She said, her tone matching her expression perfectly.
“And Ogre Killer is really powerful, who knows how many chemicals were packed into that stuff.” I mumbled, fear churning in the pit of my stomach, making it twist painfully. If I had eaten today, I think I would have thrown up by now, thanks to all my worrying.
“Chu proves resilient after his hacking spell ready to fight again.” Koto said, following Chu as he walked back to the middle of the ring.
Chu continued to smirk, going into a crouching position, holding his tow hands above each other, making a circle. “I think you should act more excited kid, after all its what you've been waiting for.” He said, his eyes glinting with something I couldn't identify, but it made me feel very scared for Yusuke, who I could tell was actually more excited then he was letting on.
Looking back at Chu, I along with the others watched as Chu's Spirit Energy rose, the familiar purple cloud appearing around his body. But that wasn't the only thing that we were looking at, oh no, that wasn't anything new to us. What we were looking at now, was what was forming in between his hands. In the space that Chu left open between his palms, a red light began to glow, although transparent. Inside the transparent red circle was a little smaller circle, red in color as it swirled. However, it didn't stay small, as it continued to spin, it grew three times larger than before, glowing an orange color instead of red. As I looked closer, I could see bits of what I think was alcohol swimming inside of his Energy. That stuff really does bring out his power, this isn’t' good.
“Now we're definitely in for some action, Chu is revealing an entirely new attack!” Koto's green eyes gleamed with excitement, clenching her left hand into a fist. “I can't tell exactly what it is, but heads will definitely be rolling!” She shouted happily.
Kuwabara looked on confused. “Hey, what is that stuff?” He asked.
“His Energy, you Lump.” Hiei said, ignoring me as I tried to hold in my laughter, my childish side coming out at the word 'Lump'. “He's creating his finishing move, if you look closely I bet you can see alcohol actually mixed in with his Energy.” He explained.
Getting over my childishness, I composed myself. “I knew I saw something weird, I just wasn't sure what is was.” I said narrowing my eyes seriously at Chu.
“Oh, you're done acting like an idiot?” Hiei asked, I wasn't sure if he was being serious or being sarcastic.
I nodded. “Yep, I'm good.” I said.
Watching as Chu held up his orange Spirit Energy blast, Kuwabara jumped back as his eyes widened. “Whoa that blast he's holding looks a lot like Urameshi's Spirit Gun!” He shouted surprised.
“And approximately equal in force.” Kurama added.
“What?!” Botan gasped, turning to Kurama. “Don't you think we should tell Yusuke that?” She asked.
Chu stood up straighter, holding the orange orb in his hand, smirking confidently. “Time for us to test our powers!” He shouted, clapping the orb together with his hands before he ran to his side, the smirk growing wider at the thought of this little fight.
Yusuke let out a smirk as well, clenching his fist together in front of him. “I was waiting for the invite!” He shouted as well, taking off after the taller man, excitement in his eyes.
“Yusuke already knows.” Kurama said, watching his friend intently.
We all watched the two run, keeping their sights on the other. Their eyes held determination, and anticipation, their smirks growing wider as the seconds passed. As I watched them, I couldn’t' help but notice how focused they were, their eyes never leaving the others' form for a second. It was as if they were both in their own little worlds. I bet if a bomb was dropped near them, they wouldn't even spare it a glance. At times like these, I loved watching the boys fight, watching how they won a match and how they kept themselves calm while in such dire situations. I couldn’t do the same, seeing as how I almost had an emotional break down in the middle of the my fight. My emotions got the better of me, and watching Yusuke fight made me want to get stronger, be better in my matches. And I would need it soon, I could tell.
“See you on the other side!” Chu suddenly yelled as he stopped running, lifting his leg up as he pulled his arm back, throwing the orb. That brought me back to reality, making me snap to attention and watch as the glowing orb raced towards Yusuke at a frightening speed.
Yusuke stopped as well, putting his right hand in the same gun position as earlier. Holding his right hand in his left, Yusuke charged up his Spirit Energy in the tip of his finger once again. “Spirit Gun!” He yelled.
The two Energies raced towards each other, speed equaling speed, but the only question that was one everyone's mind was: Which one was stronger? We all watched as the two orbs collided with one another, orange mixing with blue, electricity exploding from the two. I covered my face with my arms, the light that was produced from the Energies began to hurt my eyes as it glowed brighter. However, I could still somewhat see around my arms, although barely.
“My!” Koto shouted in amazement. “The two fighter's Energies are actually duking it out!” Putting her hands in front of her face, not wanting to be blinded by the light just like me.
“Get him Urameshi's Energy!” Kuwabara shouted, clenching his fist, not at all bothered by the light.
The two Energies continued to fight one another, neither one wanting to give up just like the two that fired them. Everyone in the stadium watched intently, not wanting to miss a single second of this little fight between Energies. Becoming immune to the pain of the light, I let my arms down, eyes narrowing at the crackling lightning that spread out towards the two fighters. It was only a matter of time before they both would break or one would over power the other. Just as I though that, both Energies couldn't endure the strain any longer, both exploding at the same time.
“It's a draw.” Hiei said instantly and bluntly.
Sweat dropping, I turned to him. “Way to ruin the epic moment Hiei.” I said, trying to hide my laughter, I don't know why I found that funny, but I did.
“Onna, just don't talk.” Hiei said, staring at me blankly.
I pouted. “Aw, you're mean.”
However, before Hiei could do anything to shut me up, Kuwabara's shout made us look at him. “Ah!” His eyes were wide in shock and amazement, which seemed to be the main look we've been having all day. “Look at them, their charging each other at the exact same time!” He shouted.
Kuwabara was right, looking back at the two, both were shouting battle cries and racing towards each other. It was as if they weren't even thinking about their next attacks anymore, like they were only fighting just for the hell of it. My point was only proven when they finally reached each other, they both began to punch at the other wildly, not even trying to block the punches they were receiving to their heads. Blood was falling from both their lips and cheeks, although none even flinched at the impacts, like they weren't even feeling them. I stared wide eyed, they were really beating the shit out of each other and they didn't even care!
“My gosh, they're not even bothering to block those head shots.” Kuwabara said, mouth agape.
Hiei never took his eyes off the two. “This is pure offense, they gave up fighting with their brains a long time ago. Now it's simply a matter of who can endure the most pain.” He explained in monotone.
“Holy shit, they could kill each other.” I gasped, my hand to my lips.
“It's impossible to count how many punches have landed, or tell whose winning, or in fact anything significant at all! I don't even know why I'm talking!” Koto said, eyes fixated on the fighters, although it was obvious she was enjoying the show.
I ignored Koto's unnecessary babbling, watching as Yusuke and Chu continued to pound each other in the face. However, with one well placed punch from Chu, Yusuke went flying back, almost landing on his back if he didn't catch himself in time. Landing on his feet in a crouch, Yusuke slid back, dust following him as did. I would have been happy that he landed back on his feet instead of being knocked out of worse, but landing as he did he didn't have the right balance to block any attacks that Chu could throw at him.
“Bad move.” Kurama said, concern slightly in his tone, noticing the same thing.
Chu let a smirk fall on his lips as he got into a crouched position again, palm above palm. “Now I have you!” He shouted, the orange orb forming in his hand once again. Letting out a battle cry once again, Chu lifted the orb above his head, this time using both hand. This orb a lot bigger than the first one.
“This is it!” Rinku cried, punching his fist in the air. “Finish that idiot Chu!” He encouraged.
“This time Chu is expanding his Energy into a much larger blast, it's amazing how much control he has over the size.” Hiei explained, emotionless as ever.
Kurama locked his eyes on the orb. “It is, and by the sheer volume, Yusuke won't be able to block it with his Spirit Gun.” He added, not really showing much emotion as well, making me stare at both of them with surprised looks, Botan doing the same.
“Try not to sound too worried.” Botan said sarcastically, however it was covered up by fear.
I nodded, narrowing my eyes at them. “Yeah, it's not like he could die or anything.” I said sarcastically and a little annoyed, although it was mostly for Hiei, seeing as how Kurama let a bit of concern show in his eyes, while Hiei just stared blankly on ahead.
“One last go!” Chu shouted, throwing the huge orange orb towards Yusuke.
From the force of the throw and the immense power of Chu's Spirit Energy made the floor on the ring to be pulled up and disintegrated on impact. It raced towards Yusuke, who just stood still, having come to a stand still. My eyes were wide as I stared at him, wondering what the hell was his problem and why he wasn't even trying to get out of the way of the attack that could kill him.
“Dammit.” Yusuke cursed, narrowing his eyes at the attack that was closing in on him.
“He's off balance, he can't defend!” Kurama said, eyes widening.
Kuwabara's eyes widened as well, fear for his friend shining greatly as he shouted. “Just get out of the way!” Although, he probably knew that now it was impossible for Yusuke to get up and run now.
My eyes were wide with fear, my hands to my chest as my stomach churned again. Looking to my left, I saw Hiei's eyes narrow. If I wasn't so concerned I would have smiled at knowing that Hiei thought of Yusuke as a friend, but right now was not the time. *Hiei, do you think he'll make it?* I asked, my mind's voice shaking.
{I don't know Onna, we just have to wait.} Hiei said, his tone not annoyed or emotionless.
Looking away from the fire youkai, I looked at my black haired ningen friend. Yusuke lifted his right hand, letting out a battle cry, eyes narrowed and determined. Grabbing his right hand with his left, he aimed his finger at the large orange like bullet. He got to his knee, trying to keep himself steady as possible, even though this target wasn't hard to hit.
“Yeah, you did it Chu! You beat him, no one can get away from that blast!” Rinku shouted, a smug smile on his lips.
Gather up a large amount of Spirit Energy in his pointer finger, Yusuke “Spirit Gun Double!” Yusuke shouted, pulling back his arms as two blue bullets soured towards Chu's attack.
Chu's eyes widened in shock and his mouth fell open as his brain processed those words. “What?!”
The two bullets flew at the orange orb, one after the other. One broke though with the other following, both making it out of Chu's attack and heading straight towards the taller man who was now in shock to even think about moving away from the surprise attack now.
“It's breaking through!” Botan shouted, eyes wide.
“Careful Urameshi, his blast is still going!” Kuwabara shouted, recoiling as he stepped back, fear on his face and in his voice.
“Too late.” Kurama said, clenching his fist with a glare.
Watching as the two attacks made contact with the two fighters, my eyes widened and if my heart was beating at all, it would have stopped when it saw the two blast that were created from those attacks. “Yusuke!” I shouted, my eyes wide in horror, my hands covering my mouth.
“Double devastation?!” Koto asked, opening her eyes as she took her arms away.
Kuwabara's hands instantly went to his head, his mouth open as he shouted worriedly. “Oh man, he hit him!” His worry, as well as mine, only growing more when the smoke cleared, revealing nobody but Koto in the ring. “They're all gone, they've been disintegrated!” He shouted again, dropping his hands to his side.
“Don't say that, Kuwabara, I don't care if it's true or not!” Botan scolded, trying to find Yusuke.
Koto blinked in shock. “No trace of either warrior can be found, nothing! Not even a little pile of ashes!” She shouted, looking all around for the two fighters. “Has the fight truly ended in a draw?” She asked.
“Ah!” Rinku said, looking up. “Up there!”
We all looked up, seeing the two fighters back flipping high in the air, and I let out a sigh of relief, a smile forming on my lips, albeit a weak one. Yusuke was so going to die by either Botan, Keiko or I, seeing as how the kick knows how to make us worry. Both of them straightened themselves out, letting them land on the solid ground in a standing position.
“Unbelievable, both of them have survived!” Koto shouted shocked and amazed, looking at the two as they panted for breath, bruises and cuts clearly showing on their skin. “Well they've burned skin, shortened their breath and somehow lost their shirts. All together, I'd call it a successful fight.” She said, composing herself again.
“I agree completely!” I shouted, cupping my hands around my mouth as I smiled. Sneaking a glance at Hiei before he noticed. But after I dropped my hands, I saw the boys staring at me with sweat drops. “It's true.” I said in my defense, making them sigh.
Chu panted, although still found enough of his energy to smirk, straightening up a little, although it proved to be a challenge. “Well that two-for-one shot you've used up all the ammo for your Spirit Gun. Maybe you can round up enough energy to swing your little dukes, but that's about it, right?” He asked.
“Pretty...much..defenseless.” Yusuke said through pants, smirking as well.
“I can barely lift my arms.” Chu said still trying to catch his breath, but once those words left his lips, he began to laugh slightly. It only growing louder as Yusuke began to join in, making everyone look at them a little confused.
“Can you hear them?!” Koto asked, taking a step back, staring at them like they were crazy. “They're laughing at their own helplessness! It seems the strain of battle has driven them into hysteria!”
I stared at them, shaking my head at them, dumbfounded. “How can they just laugh like this? Don't they know that they can barely even stand up anymore?” I mumbled to myself, not even believing my ears as I listened to them laugh almost hysterically.
“They're at the end of their line, we'll know how this will end.” Kurama stated.
Kuwabara looked a the red haired kitsune in confusion, looking down at him. “You mean in a tie?” He asked.
“No that's not what he means,” Botan said eyes narrowing, making all of us look at her as she turned her gaze to the ring. “This battle determines everything, they'll refuse to give up.” She said, a look of worry on her face as she stared at Yusuke.
Stopping his laughter, Chu looked at Yusuke. “Hey, I know a way we can finish this for keeps.” He said, a look of excitement glowing in his eyes.
“I'm all ears.” Yusuke responded, getting the same look.
Ending it here!
