~*~*~*Three Days Later*~*~*~

I blew on my bangs, watching them fly upwards before neatly falling back on my forehead, my red eyes staring boredly at the white ceiling above. Dear god, did I hate my life. For three days I've done nothing but pretty much this, and it was a wonder I haven't gone insane from the lack of activity. The only thing that ever happened was the nurses gave me food and clean hospital gowns to wear. I felt all right and my wound (despite it being a few days) was beginning to feel a bit better. My wound, thankfully, wasn't infected and thanks to that little ruse Genkai came up with which didn't involve me fighting at all, my wound didn't reopen so that was good. Now I only had to wait four more days of this hell before I could fight to save the world with my friends. But there's the thing, that was four goddamn days from now!

My life really does suck.

Sometimes.

I let out a sigh, staring off to the side. *At least I was able to finish perfecting that attack, that's one less thing to worry about, I guess,* I thought, at least trying to look on the bright side.

But my thoughts were quickly forgotten when I heard the Communication Mirror Koenma got me two days ago go off. I sat up and grabbed the circular device from the night table. I opened it up, seeing Koenma in his teenage form, and I had half a mind to shout at him that I was still in my goddamn bed and he didn't have to keep checking on me. However, that stopped when I saw the panicked look that was on his face. His eyes were narrowed and sweat was trickling down his temple, not something that the Prince usually did unless it was something serious and important. Well this didn't make me feel any better about staying in this damn hospital.

“Kira, I need you to come to Ningenkai. Now!” Koenma shouted over the Communication Mirror.

I rose an eyebrow. “Is this a trick? Because if it is then I'm going to hang up this phone right now. You told me that I couldn't come until a week was over,” I reminded him with an annoyed look on my face, now feeling highly suspicious.

Koenma glared. “I'm completely serious, Kira, you need to get here now! The psychics I informed you about earlier are after Kuwabara! Come to Mushiyori City quickly!” he shouted before static took his place.

The Communication Mirror dropped from my hand and onto the floor with a loud clack, and I was already out of my bed and putting on my regular clothes that were thankfully on the counter opposite of my bed. Re-wrapping my bandages quickly I opened my Portal of Shadows and stepped through, ignoring the overwhelming sense of deja vu that struck me.

~*~*~*~*~

Following the Spirit Energies of my teammates I found Kuwabara's and stepped out of the Portal that appeared before me in the corridors of darkness. The first thing I saw where metal contraptions that had wheels underneath them, and I took a shot in the dark that those were cars that Yusuke and Kuwabara always seemed to talk about at times. However, those didn't even matter in this moment, my heart rapidly beating in my chest as I scanned the area for the red headed ningen. I sensed him not that far away from me and began to step forward, but once I did I felt myself go into another 'space time' as Kaito had said before back at the mansion, and I tensed up. I was now in someones Territory. Great, just what I need.

“Little punk,” I heard Kuwabara's voice hiss. “Is this yours?”

A voice let out a 'hmph' and from what I could guess that was from a child. I frowned, not liking that.

Kuwabara's surprised gasp, however, took my attention away from my saddened feelings and I quickly walked (it being an equivalent of a ningen running at top speed) over to where I had heard his voice and I instantly saw Kuwabara and tow others standing between two rows of cars. I was right when I said it was a child, a brown haired child to be exact who was wearing a long sleeved shirt and shorts, a guard on his right arm. Next to the child was a taller individual and obviously a lot older than him. The man was large and muscular, sporting short black hair and his eyes were closed from what I could tell. He wore jeans, sneakers and an orange long sleeved shirt. I got an eery feeling from him, and I was right to think so.

The man smirked at Kuwabara, thankfully not seeing me, and held out his hands as his fingers extended in a similar fashion that reminded me of Elder Toguro. Brushing that thought away I ran towards the man, appearing in front of Kuwabara as he let out a shout and covered his head with his arms. My hands clamped down on the mans extended fingers, and when a look of surprise  came on the man and child's faces I let out a smirk, pulling back my arms bringing the man with me before I swung them forward, making him slam face first into a park car behind him, the car letting out a loud scream like noise as a large dent appeared in it's side. I let the fingers go, not having liked the feeling of them squirming beneath my palms.

“Don't fucking touch my friend,” I hissed dangerously, my eyes narrowing into a glare.

Kuwabara blinked, hearing my familiar voice reach his ears. “Kira?” I looked back at him with a smile. “What are you doing here?! A week hasn't been up yet!” he shouted in worry, his eyes widening while I rolled my eyes at him. Leave it to him to think of that while he was being targeted. Dumb ass...

I stared at him blankly. “If you haven't guessed, you're about to be kidnapped. Besides, Koenma said it was all right, now shut up and come on,” I motioned, not noticing how the child didn't seemed surprised.

“Leaving so soon?”

The child wasn't the one that spoke, that being obvious as the voice that spoke was deeper. That of a man's. I froze upon hearing the sadistic sounding voice and turned towards the car, seeing the man that I had thought (incorrectly) was knocked out, was now standing as if nothing happened. His eyes were still closed and a small smirk was still on his lips. No wonder that child didn't run like hell, move, or even look surprised at all. This isn't good at all.

“We don't want to overstay our welcome,” I retorted sarcastically, slowly going into a fighting stance.

The man's smirk seemed to grow ever so slightly. “Not at all, in fact I was hoping that we all could go out for something to...eat,” he said with a cruel tone in his voice that sent a shiver to run up my spine.

*The fuck? Eat?* I thought, now slightly freaked out and confused.

Kuwabara stepped back, waving his hands in front of him as he sweated profusely. “U-uh, thanks for the offer but we're not hungry!” he shouted with a nervous laugh, and I would have sweat dropped at his idiotic moment, but something wasn't sitting well with me and that caused me to be cautious.

“Kuwabara,” I called quickly, my eyes narrowing. “Run. Now.”

The red head stared at me in surprise. “What...?” he asked, as if I had grown an extra head.

The man stepped forward, his fingers retracting. “You seemed to have misunderstood what I was saying. When I meant us going out to eat, I really meant me. And you would be the main course,” he explained.

I gagged slightly, my eyes widening at the man before me. Was he being fucking serious? I looked over at Kuwabara, hoping that I had misheard what the man had said, but Kuwabara's face looked positively green, apparently not liking what he had heard either. Oh great, we got stuck with a creepy child and a cannibal.  This was not how I pictured today would turn out, but I was glad I was here now or Kuwabara would be in a horrible situation.

“No fucking way, freak,” I spat, glaring.

The man smirked sadistically. “I'm afraid you don't have a choice in the matter,” he said darkly.

I sneered. “We'll see.”

With that said I disappeared from in front of Kuwabara, appearing behind and above the cannibal. Sending a swift kick towards the cannibal's temple, I let out a smirk as he remained completely still, obviously not seeing me. However, I was wrong. Five extended fingers suddenly wrapped around my ankle, throwing me away from him like a rag doll. My eyes widened at his fast reflexes but caught myself, twisting slightly in mid-air before I landed back on the ground, my hand pressed against the ground as I slid back slightly. Kicking off into a run once I got my balance back I kicked up my speed a bit, knowing not to underestimate this man now. Appearing behind him, my recently activated Shadow Fists slamming into his back, causing him to slide forward from the attack, however, he didn't lose his balance. What the hell was with this guy?

But I didn't have time to think about that, carefully sliding into a fighting stance. *I have to end this quickly, I'm already pushing my wound enough as it is,* I thought lowly, quickly glancing to my side, sighing in relief when I saw it didn't open. That's good.

Darting into a run, going from side to side, I appeared by his side and sent a flurry of punches at him. Most mist to my complete surprise while only a few managed to hit their intended target. Was there more to this guy than I originally thought? Something was weird about him, well more weird than normal, but I couldn't put my finger on it at all. He wasn't even trying to fight back either despite that one time he threw me away. I really didn't like where this was going, maybe it was his Territory that was doing this. I wasn't sure, but it was driving me insane with concern, especially for Kuwabara. I wasn't sure if he got his powers back or not but I wasn't going to risk it to find out either.

My thoughts, however, were cut off when a sudden sharp pain came from my side, but it wasn't just because of my moving. The man's hand was clamped down onto my wounded side, making me let out a shout of pain, the wound burning with intense pain as the man tightened his grip. My Shadow Fists dissipated, my concentration lost as I only focused on the pain. Kuwabara shouted at me in concern, but I was too busy to say anything as I tried to wiggle out of the man's grip, although that only caused the pain to increase even more. My teeth clenched together tightly as I kept the shouts in this time, not wanting to show weakness again. But as I stared at the man's smirking face, I couldn't help but glare in irritation. How the hell did he know about my wound? I've never seen this guy before and I obviously didn't say anything about it just now, so how...?

“I told you, you have no choice in the matter.” The man smirked wider, and fear washed over me as I remembered what he meant by that. “You look like you'll taste very good,” he said sadistically.

“Let go of me now,” I whispered out, my eyes wide.

The man ignored me, opening his mouth widely.

I paled. “Don't!”

I tried to wiggle out from his grip again, but all he did was tighten his grip on my wound once again, making me twitch and grunt in pain. I panted slightly, sweat trickling down my temple as cold fear filled me. Was he serious going to fucking eat me right now? Was that his power? Could he swallow anybody whole if he wanted to? My body began to tremble at the thought, and from the way his mouth was already wide I could easily tell he could fit me into it. I was hurt and the pain that was being dealt to my already damaged side wasn't helping me at all. He was pulling me towards his mouth now, my efforts not doing shit for me at all, and that scared me even more. Oh shit, this was NOT good!

I could feel his putrid breath washing over me. “LET ME GO!” I screamed angrily to hide my fear that I was experiencing. But I knew that my shouts were falling on deaf ears.

Oh god...

“Stop!” Kuwabara suddenly shouted, making the man stop short.

My heart was beating loudly in my ears despite the man closing his mouth and looking towards Kuwabara. I looked shakily off to the side as well, still weary of the man that still had a painful grip on me. But my eyes widened in surprise at what I saw, my mind now fully on the red haired ningen. Kuwabara had his Spirit Sword out and in his hands, answering my earlier question of wither he had his power back or not. His Spirit Sword, however, wasn't wear I thought it would be, as it was pressed against...his own neck. My eyes filled with shock, seeing the serious look that was in his eyes as he readied his arm to let it slit his throat.

Kuwabara glared. “Let her go!” he shouted again.

The man smirked at the demand, lowering me to the ground but my feet still floated above the ground. “Oh? And what are you gonna do if I don't?” he asked, highly amused at this turn of events.

“Kuwabara...what are you doing...?” I asked, my eyes not looking away from his Spirit Sword.

Kuwabara, however, ignored me completely, his attention still on the man holding me. “You guys need me for that tunnel thing, right? If you don't let Kira go now, I'll make sure that your guys's plan stops right here,” he threatened seriously, putting more pressure on the sword against his neck, making me gape at him, my throat running dry at what was being said.

“You're bluffing,” the man laughed confidently.

“Do you really want to take that chance?” Kuwabara asked as he narrowed his eyes seriously.

The man let the smirk fall for moment, carefully thinking over what was going on. Kuwabara really looked like he would do it, too. “Fine, I'll let the little girl go, but what do we get out of it? I can't just go back empty handed, and I don't do charity work cheaply,” he explained, the smirk now on his lips once again.

Kuwabara glared at the man angrily, sweat trickling down his temple, obviously not thinking that far. However, he should have seen this coming, a bad guy wouldn't just let someone live they would gladly kill whoever they got their hands on. Kuwabara bit his lip, glancing at me as I stared at him pleadingly to stop what he was doing, however the way he sent me a reassuring smile told me that he interpreted what I was really trying to say incorrectly. Turning his attention back to the man that was holding me, quite painfully might I add, and swallowed thickly, a serious look appearing on his face once again. Oh, Kuwabara you better know what the fuck you're doing and it better be the one that doesn't involve you doing anything stupid or I'm so going to be pissed off at you...

“I...I'll go with you guys,” Kuwabara said after a second of hesitation.

My eyes widened before they narrowed dangerously. “Kuwabara!” I shouted angrily, what the fuck was he thinking?! He was going to end the fucking world just so I would live?! I'm going to fucking kill him!

“Ah, good answer,” the man said with a nod.

Before I could shout anything else at Kuwabara in my anger, I was suddenly being thrown away from the three, the wind whipping past me before I felt myself connect and go through one of the walls of the underground parking garage. The wall crumbled and I bit my lip to keep the shout of pain from falling through my lips as I slowly sat up from amongst the rubble. I slowly rubbed my head, thankfully not feeling any signs of a concussion. However, I stopped when I heard two gasps not that far from me, making me sit up, blinking in confusion.

“Kira!” I heard Kurama's voice shout in surprise and concern.

There was a gasp that sounded oddly like Keiko. “Are you all right?!” she asked worriedly, her voice growing louder as two pairs of footsteps came towards me.

I looked to my left, seeing Kurama and Keiko come to a stop and kneel down beside me. Kurama's jade-hued eyes were wide with confusion, surprise and concern, my entrance obviously not the best one that I've had but it was nice to know that I wasn't seriously injured. Sure my head hurt and my side was throbbing and burning intensely in pain, but I was still able to run and fight. Keiko wasn't any better in the worry department as her wide brown eyes were looking over me, hoping not to see any blood which I'm sure she didn't see. Shaking the debris out of my hair I gave them a small smile, although my attention not fully on them but-.

A green pick up truck suddenly squealed as it went around the corner, rushing past us. Kurama, Keiko and I got to our feet instantly once we saw four figures inside said truck. There was a man with slick back black hair, the man from earlier, that child who was driving the truck (although I'm sure that was illegal) and a certain red haired ningen who we were all deeply concerned about. Kuwabara was being held tightly in the man's long fingers, while Kuwabara was desperately trying to escape now that I was out of harms way. Kurama and Keiko stared after Kuwabara in disbelief that he was caught while I was narrowing my eyes at myself for being too weak to hold my own against some ningen with a very disgusting power. Damn it, if he didn't find my wound then I would have kicked his ass! How the hell did he even find that out?! No-one said anything about my side at all!

“Oh, no! We're too late!” Keiko gasped, her eyes wide.

“Look out below!” At the sound Yusuke's voice shouting from up above we all watched as he jumped out of a third story window, landing  on his feet in the middle of the street easily. “Your car's about to be impounded! Spirit Gun!” he shouted angrily, holding out his gun shaped hand in the direction of the truck.

Blue Spirit Energy quickly formed on his index finger, and I stared at Yusuke like he was an idiot. Was he seriously going to fire his Spirit Gun at the truck with Kuwabara in it?! The guy can't break free, he could die! However, before I could even think to shout at Yusuke to stop he pulled his hand back and a large Spirit Gun blast flew mere inches above the ground, flying faster than I've ever seen it before and I was this – close to smacking Yusuke across the head. I thought Kuwabara was an idiot, but I think Yusuke is going to take his place in a second! And my feelings only increased when Yusuke's eyes widened in realization at the incredibly stupid act he had just committed.

“Oh, crap!” Yusuke suddenly shouted. “I forgot about Kuwabara!”

That's it! “Are you fucking serious?! I should kill you right now just for being stupid!” I shouted, smacking him across the head with an irk mark on my temple, ignoring the glare he sent me.

“Really, Yusuke.” Kurama stepped forward, hies eyes narrowing in concern as the Spirit Gun blast drew closer and closer towards it's target. “How could you shoot a blast that big without thinking it would kill everyone on board including him?” he asked, somehow able to keep his cool even in a situation like this.

“I was mad!” Yusuke defended, his hands on his head.

I face-palmed myself, a sweat drop going down the back of my head. “It's amazing how none of us have died with you around when you were mad,” I mumbled, shooting him a glare when he shot one at me. Idiot.

“URAMESHI!” Kuwabara's loud shout somehow managed to reach us over the shouting. “IF YOU KILL ME YOU'RE DEAD!”

“Resshuu Kou Kyuu Ha!”

The four of us quickly looked back towards the blast, hearing a man's voice shout in a different language. I wasn't able to see what the attack looked like thanks to the blast covering the truck from our view completely, but we were all able to see what the end result of the attack was. Purple Energy suddenly mixed with Yusuke's blast, causing the two Energies to swarm around one another before the blast exploded, wind rushing towards us in all different directions as the explosion gave off a bright flash of light, causing all of us to cover our eyes. However, when we were able to see I saw the new black haired man smirking over at Yusuke, the colorful array that had appeared thanks to the two attacks connecting slowly dimming.

“Later!” the man shouted with a wave of his hand before him and the truck were out of sight.

Kurama frowned, his eyes narrowing. “On the bright side, at least Kuwabara survived,” he stated, although that only made me frown in guilt even more. Kuwabara was going to be eaten thanks to me, damn it!

“Yeah!” Yusuke shouted angrily, running to a bike rack. “And they got away!”

Keiko's eyes widened as she clutched Puu tighter to her chest, quickly running over to the black haired Spirit Detective. “Yusuke? What are you doing!? That's not even yours!” she shouted in surprise, watching as he pulled violently at one of the bikes, while I only sighed at him.

“It is now!” Yusuke slammed a bike down, facing it in the direction that Kuwabara went before he sat down and faced Keiko. “Keiko, you know I can't let them hurt Kuwabara!” An annoyed look appeared on his face as he bent down, throwing a strange lock. “Stupid bike lock! And don't tell me not to save him! It's what he would do,” he said calmer this time, but his narrowed eyes told her that he wasn't going to let them go.

Watching Yusuke suddenly begin to pedal away from us furiously, I snapped out of my thoughts. “Hey! I'm going, too!” I shouted after him, my eyes narrowing in annoyance at my late reaction time.

“Then come on!” he shouted over his shoulder,

“Wait!” Keiko shouted as I ran after Yusuke. “There's something you two need to know!”

However, her shouts went on deaf ears as Yusuke and I raced down the street, although I was running as fast as he was pedaling, my side still aching and I didn't want to overexert myself until I really needed to. It was good, however, that Yusuke was using his Energy in his legs to make him go faster than a regular ningen would or I would have left him to go after Kuwabara, even if that's sounds mean, I did NOT want Kuwabara to die because of me thank you! However, my thoughts were brought back to the present when Yusuke and I saw one of the streets were turned into covered with many wrecked cars. Windows were smashed, bumpers were crushed, car doors were dented in and smoke were rising out from under the hoods. I narrowed my eyes in anger, that damn little kid was really starting to piss me off, he was driving like a maniac and wasn't even caring if he killed anyone.

“Hey! Stupid rubberneckers!” Yusuke shouted as we weaved through the totaled cars. “Get out of our way!”

Turning into another road we saw two other cars, but these were far worse with flames covering them and smoke filling the air. “Well isn't this nice, they're leaving us a trail to follow them with,” I spat sarcastically, the anger in me growing with each passing wreckage we saw.

“Not really appropriate, Kira,” Yusuke said, giving me a look as he pumped harder.

I frowned. “Sorry.”

Yusuke shook his head before half-facing me. “Hey, I forgot to ask something: what the hell are you doing here? I thought you were staying at Diaper Bitch's palace for the next few days?” he asked, and I fought the urge to smirk at Koenma's new nickname.

My eyes narrowed, growing serious. “He called me to come down here a few minutes ago, and thanks to me Kuwabara's like this,” I said with a glare directed towards myself, my fists clenching tightly.

“What?” Yusuke asked, eyes narrowing in confusion.

I shook my head. “I'll explain later,” I answered as we turned down another street.

It wasn't before long that we were out of the city and racing across a side road that was placed in the middle of a mountain, the road curving with small hills and slopes before weaving in a fashion that reminded me of a snake. There was hardly anyone on the road beside two cars, a red one that wasn't important and the truck that Kuwabara was in. It was sad to say that Yusuke was beating the red car with just a bike, and by the way the guy shouted in surprise when he saw that made me smirk before turning my attention back onto the truck before us. We were gaining speed and gradually catching up which was a good thing, but I just hoped that Yusuke and I would be enough to get Kuwabara out of the mess I made.

“Help!” Kuwabara shouted as we got closer. “I'm in a pick-up truck full of psychic cannibals!”

I frowned before I glared at the other three with him. *Don't worry Kuwabara I know how that felt, we're gonna get you real soon,* I thought before I glared at the man that was sitting with Kuwabara in the back, his smirk filling me with both anger and fear.

“Hold on, Kuwabara, we're comin' for ya!” Yusuke shouted, bringing my attention back to him and the red haired dumb ass that I was still pissed at. Well, only slightly...

“Urameshi!” Kuwabara shouted, eyes wide with panic. “Kira!”

“I just hope these wheels don't melt,” Yusuke murmured to himself before pedaling even harder.

The chase was going on longer than I had expected, having thought we would have caught up by now and apparently I wasn't the only one. “What? You couldn't find a little girl's scooter?!” Kuwabara shouted angrily, an irk mark pulsing on his temple as he glared at Yusuke.

“I don't know! You couldn't go a week without getting snagged by the forces of evil?!” Yusuke glared before he pedaled to the other side of the car, while I went the opposite way, now on the driver's side. “Consider this your first and only chance to get out of this alive, now pull this thing over or I'm going to run your ass off the road!” he threatened seriously, a growl in his tone.

The child stared in horror. “He can't possibly do that with a bicycle, can he?” he asked, eyes wide.

I scoffed. “You're lucky you have Kuwabara or this piece of scrap metal would have been blown up long ago, brat,” I spat, making the boy flinch and glance at me, only making me smirk. Yes, know fear...

The man that I had the greatest displeasure to ever meet in my entire life didn't seem to care for the true words I spoke. “Even so, but if we don't lose them quickly they'll follow us to our secret-- ex-secret hideout,” he said slightly annoyed, glancing at the black haired man when he paused for a brief second.

“I told you I have it under control,” the black haired man said, relaxing with a smirk.

I narrowed my eyes at the man, not liking his casual attitude at all. I really do hate it when a bad guy has a few tricks up his sleeves, why can't that be us for a change? That would be so great, but noo, we always get stuck with the shit before we have to work our asses off to beat the fucking cheaters. However, my annoyed thoughts were cut off when I heard the roar of a strange sounding vehicle and I looked over my shoulder, seeing a skinny bike-like contraption not that far behind us. On the bike was a regular looking teenager who had semi-long black hair and violet eyes. He was wearing a red leather jacket and pants. I glared, so that was what that black haired bastard meant. Great...

“Hey, Yusuke!” I shouted over the rushing wind of the car. “We got company!”

Yusuke instantly looked back, and the boy on the bike smirked at us as he rose his right hand, something sitting between his middle finger and thumb, two  small squares with little black dots on it. Yellow Spirit Energy began to form around it as he pulled back his pointer finger and the next thing Yusuke and I knew the man flicked the cub, one slamming into Yusuke's bike and one hitting me in the ankle, but thankfully didn't go into it, it barely missing. Yusuke let out a shout as the back of his bike broke apart, sending him to painfully bounce against the road, his white shirt ripping off only to leave him now shirtless. I hissed in pain as I tripped, slamming against the hot asphalt as well, but when my shirt ripped I was glad to see that I still had my cami tank top still intact underneath. Thank god I dress in layers.

Yusuke and I quickly jumped to our feet and tried to reach the back of the truck, but it moved out of the way leaving us to land on the road achingly. The car quickly drove out of sight and around the corner, but not before we saw Kuwabara's panic filled eyes and that black haired bastard's smirk. We slowly got up, the burns on our arms and on Yusuke's chest stinging ever so slightly as we moved, but we just got to our knees and glared.

“So close...” Yusuke hissed as he wiped his chin, a deadly glare in his eyes. “Prick.”

I growled, my hands clenching against the asphalt beneath us. “I can't wait until we get our hands on them, they're really starting to piss me off,” I spat heatedly.

However, our moment of anger was cut off when we heard the roar of that bike that the teenager was un, causing us to turn around, although not getting to our feet. The teenager held out his hand once again, but this time we felt ourselves being placed inside his Territory while four patches of Spirit Energy formed on us. One on each forearm, one on our stomach and one on our heart. I narrowed my eyes along with Yusuke as we stared down at the patches, not glancing when the teenager skidded to a stop in front of us.

The patches then disappeared leaving nothing there. “Weird,” Yusuke mumbled as we patted our bodies.

“Well, I didn't like that,” I said in annoyance.

Yusuke nodded before getting to his feet, and I followed, as he turned to the teenager. “What'd you do to us?” he asked, but it sounded more like a demand than anything, and I glared at the teenager coldly, my fists clenching down at my sides. This wasn't good.

“Just marking my Territory,” the teenager answered with a ghost of a smirk.

“Well, that's gross,” Yusuke said with a grimace.

I nodded, jabbing my thumb at Yusuke. “He doesn't swing that way and I already have someone else in mind, thank you,” I said in annoyance, ignoring Yusuke's smirk at the last part.

The teenager just held out his hand once again, his eyes narrowing. “Death Print Bull's Eyes,” he said.

Spirit Energy began to swarm out of the boy's hand, it containing every color imaginable as it swarmed around in a circular strip covering Yusuke and I as we backed up, our eyes wide and our bodies tensed. However, we felt this tingling sensation on the spots that had been hit with the boy's Energy before and we looked down, and our eyes widened when we saw each of the spots now containing a two thin black rings with a dot in the middle. And I frowned, seeing my stomach and hard marks were visible even on my cami.

“Oh great, I always wanted tattoos,” Yusuke said sarcastically as he glared down at the markings.

I grimaced before glaring at the boy before us. “Same, but I don't like the design of these, I want my money back,” I spat in the same tone as Yusuke, not amused in the least.

“Those, my friends, are targets,” the boy spoke up, gaining our attention.

Yusuke glared. “For what?”

“For me to hit of course, at any time, and at any range without me having to aim,” the teenager said, tossing eight small rocks in the air before catching them and repeating it. “Oh, and with any ammunition I so chose, like these rocks for instance.”

I sneered. “How fun,” I growled sarcastically.

Before I, or Yusuke, could make anymore comments we watched as the rocks lifted into the air, but this time they stayed . Yusuke and I narrowed our eyes, and before we could blink they shot at the bull's eyes on our bodies. Snagging them in our hands quickly, we both winced at the pain that riddled our palms, a good amount of force and power behind those rocks. Those would have definitely broken skin and went deep into our body if we didn't react fast enough. Dropping the rocks to the ground, small droplets of blood fell after them, but thankfully they weren't deep wounds that would cause us a problem.

The teenager smirked. “Nice talent, now as long as you two never let your guard down you have nothing to worry about,” he said mockingly, and I was beginning to notice a pattern starting to form. Fun.

“Freak!” Yusuke spat heatedly, raising a clenched fist.

“He's worse than that, he's a fucking sadistic bastard,” I snapped icily, my eyes flashing dangerously.

“Come now, lets not resort to name calling,” the teen said with an amused smirk on his lips. “My proper name is Kaname Hagiri, but my victims call me Sniper.”

I rolled my eyes. “We don't really give a shit.”

The damn bastard smirked again. “From this moment on, you two will never again be able to go anywhere without looking over your shoulder. Enjoy living in fear, while you two still can,” he said darkly before he revved his bike, taking off down the road, trying to leave us behind.

“Hey, get back here! You don't scare us!” Yusuke shouted angrily as he ran after him, and I followed.

My eyes were formed into a deadly glare, my eyes trailing after where Sniper had disappeared. However, I wasn't able to really keep it there thanks to his threat. I would look over my shoulder, not liking how he was right. It scared me that I could easily die thanks to any of his random projectiles could hit my arteries, my stomach or heart with ease with us even being near him. But I shook my head clear of the fear, making sure to keep Yusuke in my sight as he was now running on pure anger and that was more powerful than adrenaline when it came to him.

It wasn't before long that Yusuke and I ran off the road and found ourselves in a densely wooded area. The woods was easily the most dangerous place we could be in, making me feel even more cautious than I was previously. There were so many weapons that Sniper could use, and he could be hiding everywhere. I bit my lip, my nerves practically burning out from all of my worrying. But I kept my ears, eyes and senses locked onto anything that moved even a milometer anywhere near us. I was NOT going to let another friend be hurt from the enemy, I already pretty much sent Kuwabara off to his own death bed and I wasn't going to do that with Yusuke.

“Where are you, Sniper?” Yusuke hissed under his breath, his angry brown eyes darting everywhere.

I frowned, jumping and running over large rocks and tree limbs. “He can't have gotten far, there has to be a limit on his Territory,” I said as I was slowly beginning to take deeper breaths, although they weren't as noticeable like Yusuke's.

Before Yusuke could complain a sudden rustle from above us made Yusuke and I skid to a stop, our eyes narrowing up at the tree tops only to find that there was nothing there but the leaves making noise in the wind. However, I didn't feel stupid despite not seeing anything, I'm happy to look stupid just as long as Sniper or his weapons pop out of everywhere and try to kill us. I placed a hand to my rapidly beating heard, breathing out a slow sigh of relief even if I knew that this wouldn't last long. I try to look on the bright side of things even when there's obviously none in any shape or form. Sometimes.

“Just the wind...” Yusuke breathed out, relieved too.

However, Yusuke and I gasped as our bodies stiffened, turning around when we heard the sounds of violent rustling behind us. We looked through the tree limbs that shadowed most of the forest, but we were able to hear and see birds flying away, probably scared off thanks to our loud gasps and sharp moments. Once again I placed my hand on my heart, but I wasn't really in the mood to be relieved thanks to my red eyes twitching in annoyance as I glared off after the damn rats with wings. Yusuke wasn't all too happy with them either, considering his pissed off expression.

“Stupid birds!” Yusuke shouted angrily, wiping his chin.  “Man, I hate the countryside!”

I stared at him blankly. “Could you scream any louder, Yusuke? I don't think the guy whose trying to kill us could hear you,” I said bluntly, an irk mark pulsing on my temple. Geez...

Yusuke copied my expression. “Shut up.”

“But seriously,” I sighed, running my hand through my hair as I looked around, getting the feeling of someone watching us from pretty much everywhere. I hated feeling this vulnerable. “Where the hell is that fucking bastard? I'd rather not look over my shoulder every two seconds,” I mumbled with a frown.

“I have an idea,” Yusuke said before shouting, “Come out now and show you're face you big son of a bitch!”

With that said Yusuke took off in a random direction, while, in my startled state, I stood frozen to my spot for a second before I composed myself and quickly followed after him. Damn it, Yusuke, that is NOT what I meant when I said I didn't want to look over my shoulder! Now we're really gonna have to be careful because I can tell that guy doesn't like to be taunted by his victims. Well, we won't be his victims but you understand what I mean. ...Or are we victims for being targeted? I don't know and I don't care, just get on with the damn story...

However, just as I did begin to run I sensed something and saw a bit of black appear out of my peripheral vision. I halted in my running slightly and looked to my left, but all I saw was a empty tree branch. I frowned, having a feeling of who could have been there but considering he was hiding that meant he still wasn't too happy or he was going to do what Yusuke said he would, swoop down and save us when we really need him. Quickly going after Yusuke again I caught up rather quickly, but my mind was now somewhere else.  I ope that he does come down and save us soon, I really miss him.

Hiei...

Yusuke and I  suddenly came to a stop in a grassy, open field. “You sense that, too?” I asked, glaring.

“Yeah.” Yusuke nodded, his eyes narrowed into a glare as well as we both looked around. “He's around here somewhere, I can feel his eyes on us.” We both stiffened when the wind rustled the grass before us, and we both stared at the tall grass. “Just the wind again,” he whispered, although he never relaxed.

“Damn it! Never before have I ever wished for the wind to just die!” I hissed with an irk mark.

I stopped my small rant and Yusuke narrowed his eyes when we both saw eight blades of grass begin to rise off the ground just like the rocks had out of Sniper's hand. However, that wasn't all there were other blades of grass suddenly passed us from behind before heading back towards us. Our eyes widened as we batted the grass blades away, before Yusuke got caught by one his grass blades on the top of his shoulder. From the look of his small wince that felt more than just a blade of grass, but my (obvious) observation was confirmed when I saw a line of blood fall from his wound.

“Ow!” I hissed, feeling two hit my leg and my lower arm. “Son of a fucking whore!” Yep, they hurt. Slightly.

Yusuke ignored my shout, knowing I was all right thanks to that, as he caught the last blade of grass, but something out of the corner of his eye caught his attention. He let out a gasp, making me stop my angered thoughts after I smashed the two pieces of grass that cut me. I followed his eyes, seeing a lone bike sitting not that far away from us under a tree. That was obviously Sniper's. My eyes narrowed, slowly sliding into a defensive stance, my eyes slowly scanning the area around us. God did I hate this.

“It's Sniper's ride,” Yusuke observed, doing the same. “Then he really is near by, but where and when?”

A sudden sound came from above us, and my eyes snapped towards the sky. My eyes widened, seeing a large cloud of rocks coming towards us. “Yusuke, heads up!” I said as I backed up slightly, not liking the

“I had to ask!” Yusuke shouted, quickly grabbing me, making me run with him. “Well, don't I feel special? My own private, personal, localized meteor shower!”

“Then I don't see why the hell it's chasing me!” I shouted over the sound of the wind.

Yusuke, despite seeing what kind of situation we were in, couldn't help but let a rueful smirk pass his lips. “You know what they say, sharing is caring and all that other shit!” he shouted back, almost making me let out a laugh, even in a life or death situation it seems like we can act idiots just to make ourselves feel better. Even if it's for a little while.

I shot him a 'look'.  “I don't like how you show you care, Yusuke, so feel free to keep it!” I said as I jabbed my thumb behind me at the gaining rock shower, knowing they would hurt like hell if they hit us.

Yusuke glared in mock annoyance. “Thanks!”

Again, I almost laughed. “No problem!” I shouted back with a cute smile.

With that being said we both gave each other a look before simultaneously nodded and turning on our heels. We faced the rocks with raised fists while mine were now covered with my Shadow Fists, that at least providing me with some kind of protection. Hundreds of rocks came flying at us and we met each of them with powerful and quick jabs, small dust particles floating in the air before disappearing into the wind. With each second the rocks grew less, but we didn't drop our guard because if even one got past us then that would be the end. And finally, after those shorts seconds (which actually felt like hours to me) passed Yusuke let out one final punch, exploding a large rock into nothing and we both stared for a second, waiting to see if anymore came at us.

“We're just starting to get a good work out,” Yusuke shouted out mockingly after a few tense seconds, and I was tempted to hit him again. However, we saw another mass of what looked like rocks rise above the trees, and we frowned.  “Oh please, more rocks? Come on, this guy really needs a creativity consultant.”

However, when the 'rocks' grew closer our eyes widened in shock at what they really were. There were knives of different shapes, sizes and categories heading straight towards us and I knew we couldn't punch them like we did with the rocks. I gulped, sweat trickling down my temple, well this is going to be fun, how the hell are we going to get out of this? I never use my sword anymore so using that as a weapon was out of the question, and I frowned in annoyance at myself for not coming prepared for anything. Yusuke tensed up and his eyes widened at the site

“Yusuke,” I squeaked out, stepping back as the knives grew closer. “I think his creativity is just fine.”

Yusuke nodded. “No kidding, how the hell did he even get all of those around here?! We're in the middle of a goddamn forest!” he shouted crossed between scared and completely pissed.

I didn't blame him.
