Chapter 1: Arrival and Goodbye

Inuyasha walked silently around Kaede's village. He had been looking for Kagome and Shippo for over a week and found no trace of them. 'Where is that wench?' he thought. He stopped and turned and walk off towards the Bone Eater's Well. He'd smelled and found she had not been near the well in about a month and a half. 'She's somewhere in this Era.' he thought. He felt guilty. 'Kagome I'm sorry. Wherever you are, I hope you're safe.' he thought looking up at the night sky. He sighed. He jumped into a nearby tree and looked at the stars. He pointed out the different constellations of stars and found some confort in that. He slowly drifted off into a light sleep.

Kagome pulled the reins of the horse Tana signaling her to stop as she saw the others stop. She looked over the hill and could not believe her eyes. Before her eyes was a mansion. It was made of marble and there was a forest behind it. There was a big lake in front of it behind the gates. There were flowerbeds and grass surrounding the lake. The forest behind the mansion had a vast variety of trees, including oak, cherry blossom, peach blossom, pine and maple. "Its beautiful." Kagome exclaimed staring. They all walked to the front gates. Youko picked up a stone and threw it towards a darts target. A loud bang was heard and the gates opened. Once they had gotten in the gates closed. They walked to the front doors of the mansion. The doors were made of marble yet were painted brown. They had golden hinges. "Xmetrevolous" Youko said and the doors opened. "Wow." Kagome and Shippo said at the same time. Once inside they came face to face with a long staircase and six doors to the left of the main floor and six rooms to the right of it. Kagome and Shippo looked around in awe. There was a gold statue of the roman goddess Venus at the center of the stairs once they reached the top floor. There were paintings of Youko, Hiei and Kuronue on the walls of the main floor. The entire floor was carpetted on both main and top floor. There were lit candles on the rim of the walls, and lanterns on the ceiling. The same lighting methods were used on the top floor. There were two doors on the main floor one labeled forest, the other labeled Kitchen. The kitchen door lead to a stairway going down to the mansion kitchen. The forest door was a door to the forest behind the mansion.

After Kagome and Shippo had gotten over their awe over how beautiful the mansion was Youko lead them to their room. The room was about six feet wide and eight feet high. The light source was lanterns. There was a large king size bed with red sheets and pillows, a dresser, a close, a bathroom with an indoor hotspring, a rocking chair and a wodden couch with soft large red pillows. Kagome gave Youko a hug. "Thank you." she said. Youko hugged her back then when they pulled apart he stared into her eyes as she stared into his. While their gazes were locked they slowly inched closer and closer to each other. They were millimeters apart when Shippo squealed as a bunch of the clothes in the closet came tumbling onto him. Kagome and Youko parted from each other. Kagome giggled softly as Youko held an amused smirk on his face.

After checking out her room deeper Kagome found Shippo had fallen asleep and gently tucked him into bed. She wandered downstairs and looked around. She opened a door and found herself in a room with a large grand piano and flower painted walls. Kagome opened the piano and sat on the bench. She thought for a moment. Then began to play. "I'm so tired of being here, supressed by all my childish fears and if you have to leave, I wish that you would just leave, 'cause your presence still lingers here, and it won't leave me alone, these wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real, there's just too much that time cannot earase " she sang. "When you'd cry I'd wipe away all of your tears, when you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears and I held your hand through all of these years but you still have, all of me " she continued. "You used to captivate me, by your resonating light, now I'm bound by the life you left behind, your face it haunts, my once pleasent dreams, your voice it chased away, all the sanity in me, these wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real, there's just too much that time cannot earase " she sang as a tear fell from her each of eyes. "When you'd cry I'd wipe away all of your tears, when you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears and I held your hand through all of these years, but you still have, all of me. " she continued to sing and more tears fell. "I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone, but though you're still with me, I've been alone all along ." more tears fell. At this point Hiei had walked and was watching. "When you'd cry I'd wipe away all of your tears, when you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears and I held your hand through all of these years, but you still have, all of me ." she ended the song and played the last few notes of the song.

"Hiei would you please hug me?" Kagome asked while tears streamed down her cheeks. Hiei nodded and went and sta on the piano bench beside her and hugged her and let her cry on his shoulder. "Thank you." Kagome whispered as she fell asleep in his arms. Hiei smiled down at her. 'I swear on my life, no one will ever hurt you nee-san.' Hiei vowed in thought.

The next day at Kaede's village, Sango watched Miroku tell the village women fake fortunes and sighed. She grabbed a hairbrush that Kagome had left behind and started brushing Kirara's hair softly. Miroku heard Sango's heavy sigh and walked over to her. She got up and walked away. He sighed and followed. "What displeases you lady Sango?" he asked. "Its nothing Houshi-sama." Sango replied. He sat next to her and she moved away slightly. Miroku sighed. "Did I do something to make you angry?" he asked turning her to face him. Sango held still not allowing him to turn her to face him. A tear escaped her right eye. "Why do you flirt so much? I love you yet all you do is continuously break my heart. Naraku is beaten, my brother and fellow demon slayers are avenged I'm leaving Miroku. You stupid pervert!" Sango yelled as she ran off.

About an hour after dinner, Miroku saw Sango with all her things and ready to leave. He was going to say goodbye but she just walked past him and left on the transformed Kirara. Miroku sighed and looked at the sky. "Wherever you go Sango-chan just stay safe. I could not bare it if you were hurt." he whispered into the winds of night. If you listened closely enough you could hear a voice in the wind that said "Thank you."
