Chapter 6: Fighting or Flirting?

Kuronue and Hiei sighed as they watched Kagome and Youko bickering. "If I'm so worthless, why did you heal me?!" Kagome yelled. "For Hiei's sake!" Youko said obviously lieing. Kagome slapped him and began to cry. "You jerk, and all this time I thought you actually cared about me." she sobbed. Youko's smile of triumph turned into a frown as he saw her tears. He wrapped his arms around her and ran his fingers through her raven hair trying to heal the damage he'd done. "Don't cry. I didn't mean it like that." he whispered. Kuronue smirked giving Youko a look that asked or rather stated 'You like her'. The smirk earned him a glare from the kitsune.
Hiei sighed. Ever since Kagome had recovered a few days ago all she had been doing was arguing with Youko. It was the same all the time. Youko would say she was worthless and she would say something defend herself. They'd start calling each other names and she'd slap him. He'd remark by saying she had a good slap for a mortal and they'd start arguing all over again. This time it was different Youko had not commented about her slapping tactics and she had cried. Hiei was surprised at how Youko reacted to her tears.
Youko's Pov
I held Kagome in my arms running my fingers through her silk-soft raven hair. She sobbed and I whispered what for me is an apology. "Don't cry. I didn't mean it like that" I told her softly. 'Why am I doing this?' I ask myself. Kagome is still sobbing into my tunic. 'Damn it all, stop crying ningen!' I think as I try to find a way to stop her but find none. Something hits me. "Kagome....I'm....sorry aishiteru." I whisper so only she can hear. She looks up into my eyes with disbelief. "Do you really?" she asks. "Of course not! Why would I feel like that about a worthless human like you?!" I yell at her without thinking. I instantly regret it because I feel something around my neck and Kagome backing further and further away from me. "Kagome wait!" I tell her trying to get her attention before she says anything. She ignores me.
Authoress's Pov
Youko held his breath waiting for Kagome to say something. "I need a word." Kagome said to herself. She smirked evily and looked at Youko. "Down." she said and giggled when Youko hit the ground face first. Hiei smirked and Kuronue let out a small chuckle. Youko glared at Kagome as he sat up but said nothing knowing he was at her mercy with the rosary around his neck. He looked at Hiei as if asking him to tell Kagome to take it off. "Hn." Hiei replied to the silent question. Youko sighed in defeat.
~Kuronue: You like her~
~Youko: Who told you that?~
~Kuronue: Oh its quite obvious.~
~Youko: *mental sigh* If you say something I will kill you Kuronue!~
~Kuronue: ....~
~Youko: Fine I won't kill you but I will hurt you.~
~Hiei: Hn. Admit it Youko. You're falling for a ningen.~
~Youko: Shut up Hiei!~
~Kagome: What are you guys talking about?~
~Youko: nothing human~
~Kagome: Down~
~Youko: *thud*~
~Hiei: we weren't talking about anything imouto~
~Kuronue: *chuckling*~
The next day Kagome and Youko were out in the garden when a demon attacked. It was half dragon and half wish. It had wings on its back and phins. It had dark blue eyes and fire breath. Kagome dodged a breath of fire and tried shooting her spirit gun at it. She missed by an inch and was almost burned by its firery breath. She opened her eyes to see Youko in front of her with his rosewhip and a decaying demon in front of him. That's when she sensed it, the demon had a shard of the shikon no tama. "Slice its arm off Youko. It has a fragment of the Shikon Jewel in its left arm!" Kagome stated as Youko wasted no time in killing the demon. Kagome walked over to the remains of the demon and picked up the shard that was glowing black. It was instantly purified at her touch. 'Intesting.' Youko thought. Then he proceeded to scream at her for her stupidity. "Are you nuts?! You could've gotten yourself killed!" he exclaimed. Kagome looked at him coldly. "What do you care?, Oh Mighty Youko Kurama!" she retored. This began another argument between them. Youko couldn't help think back to her question. 'Why do I care?' he asked himself.
Well that's all for now. Next chapter Kagome, Youko and Kuronue will travel to Kaede's village. I have decided with the help of Densetsuno Youko (who is by the way my Favorite authoress) to make Youko and Kurama/Suichi to different people and I have alternate endings planned for this story. The Youko/Kagome ending will have a big surprise. I will also have to think of a surprise for the Kagome/Kurama ending. Please Read and Review. Vote on whether or not Sesshomaru should be in this fic or not and who he should be with. Options are Botan and Shiziru. There will also be Keiko/Yusuke and Yukina/Kuwabara in this.
