Rain poured down the dark empty street drenching the figure that ran through the alleys, visible only in the short bursts of lightening that lit up the city like day. He clutched a small bundle of cloth, crimson eyes full of determenation, and from the way he moved, one would think he was being hunted. None of that seemed to concern him, he had a destination and like hell anyone would keep him from getting there.

Kurama lay on his bed, listening to the rain falling on the roof and tapping on the window in his room. It hit in little drops on the glass, before swelling and running down in little rivers. He always did enjoy the rain, and now it seemed to be comforting. A blast of lightening filled the sky, revealing a face at the window.
Kurama jumped up in shock, as the window flung open and Hiei rolled in, wet, and breathing heavy, clutching a small bundle to his chest.
"Hiei!" Kurama grabbed a towel from the closet, running to his friend, to help him up.
"I brought you a little present, Kurama." He handed the bundle to Kurama, before taking the towel from the outstretched arm.
Kurama's eyebrows raised as he took the bundle, wondering what kind of present it was. If it was truly just a 'present' then Hiei wouldn't have rushed in like that. "Present?" He asked, a little skeptical, wondering what kind of mess Hiei had gotten into. The other stayed silent, face expressionless, except for a hint of amusement evident in his crimson eyes.
Kurama shook his head as he sat on the bed, carefully holding the bundle. It seemed warm, despite being wet and he thought for a second, that he had felt a tingle of a demon presence. Quickly he pulled the corners of the cloth back to reveal a tail wrapped around a small grey body, with black ears, tail, and paws. It was a small silver fox, not a makai fox, but a ningen fox. It's eyes were closed and it breathed softly, as if Hiei's marathon hadn't seemed to have bothered it slightly.
His eyes widened before he stared up at Hiei, full of confusion. "A silver fox? Where did you get a silver fox here, and better yet, why?"
This time, he spoke sounding a little more tired then he was looking. "I can't answer your questions now, kitsune. I need you to watch after that. If anything happens to it, Koenma will be all over us. I figured your a fox, you can raise one of your own kind."
Kurama smiled slightly at that, before picking up the creature and putting it in another small towel and bundling it up. He stared down at the small bundle in his arms, before placing it softly on his bed and turning to Hiei. "Well, don't just stand there and drip in the floor, you know where the shower is, I'll find you something dry to wear." Before the other could protest, he pushed him into the bathroom and closed the door.
