Disclaimer: I don't own YYH

yay happy news! I just dyed my hair a purplish color, I collected another year, AND my baby brother was born! Lyfe is going good right now! Thanks for reveiwing!

P.S. Ok what is the deal with reviewing? Its not that I'm anti-review, if you like to encourage people, more power to you, but if your writing a story, and you suddenly stop because you aren't getting enough input, you are writing for the wrong reasons, honestly. GET OVER IT, be flattered they actually come to read your story and don't flame it, that's saying enough right there. If they didn't like it enough to review, change it around and shock it out of them, don't twist their arm, that only pisses people off.
Sorry if I come off as a bitch, but it's just as bitchy to demand reviews from people, input-nazis.

I was woken up, rudely I might add, to the sound of Nyx running around singing at the top of her lungs. Don't get me wrong, she has a beautiful voice, when she wants to. This was one of the most horrible sounds you could ever imagine, I believe its from some thing called an alarm clock, when I asked her where she learned it. She mentioned it was the tool of the devil, and after hearing the sound, I can understand where she got that idea.
Once we were all in the living room she proposed the idea, of going out to karaoke tonight. Everyone sat in silence for a few minutes, questioning looks on thier faces. Then Yusuke spoke up "Yea, great idea! Since we are taking tonight off, why not the whole day? Let's have a water balloon fight!"
I was in the dark as to what that was, but Nyx explained it to me. Excitement was written all over her face. She was so lively most of the time, but then at others she was so quiet and introverted. Hanging around these people helped, they all contrasted so drastically and treated us like family, it put us at ease.
It was kind of weird hanging around with these people though, my past being what it was, I had to grow up fast. But then again, so did Nyx but she still loved playing these games. The others reluctantly agreed, except for Hiei, who retreated to his tree. Kurama looked at me with a glint in his eye, and knew Youko was putting thoughts in his head.
I grinned back and winked. I knew I was in love with him, and I knew that Nyx probably knew, but I would never admit it. I couldn't until we freed her clan, and then after that...well we'll see. Yusuke and Kuwabara began filling up water balloon after water balloon. Where they got so many, I'll never know. When they were finally done, they distributed them 'evenly' which was really them with a large store and everyone else with less.
Nyx had this michevious glint in her eye and I knew she was planning something. I thought back to the stick incident and grinned. Poor Yusuke and Kuwabara. She glanced my way and nodded. Then as if on some cue, we split up and ran our separate ways. I snuck around the side of the temple to find myself behind Kurama, who was currently ducked behind a tree, sneaking around to ambush someone. I had a suspicion who. I threw my balloon and my aim held true. It hit him in the back of the head and I ducked behind a wall.
I could barely contain my laughter, maybe there WAS something to these games after all. I risked a look around the wall and came face to face with a rather wet Kurama. I started cracking up and took off, after throwing one in his face to obscue his eyesite, allowing me to get away. It didn't last long when I heard him running behind me. I kept zig-zagging and making my moves unpredictable and the result was balloons narrowly missing me.

<Kurama>

When Yusuke first proposed the idea of a water balloon fight I had my doubts, but Nyx seemed to brighten at the prospect and when Mika agreed, I decided to also. I could hear Youko in my head, making perverted comments about how this was a good idea, as it would get Mika's clothes wet and that was where I cut him off.
I was hiding behind a tree, planning on waiting until someone came around *yeah right, you know your waiting for Mika*
^Shut up Youko^ I could still hear his laughter in my head when I was hit from behind, water immediatly soaking me. I could hear stifled laughter and walked towards the wall. A minute later Mika looked around the corner, and coming face-to-face with me, threw another water balloon and hit me in the forhead. Then she took off. I ran after throwing my balloons at her, but she was running crazy, and I missed. She took off up a hill and I was closing in. I had one balloon left when she stopped abruttly(sp?) at the top of the hill.
I had glanced down at the ground and didn't see, when I crashed into her and we rolled down the other side. I landed on top of her and she stared up at me with wide eyes. I smirked, and went to grab the water balloon that had somehow survived the fall, but she was quicker. She had a mischievous grin on her face and I knew what she was about to do. In my moment of quick thinking Youko took over, and the next thing I knew, my lips were on hers.
She was stunned and didn't respond. I pulled away and started to apologize when I felt her lips meet mine again. She pulled away, rolled out from under me, told me not to worry about it, and popped the balloon on my head. Suddenly I felt my control slip, and white mist enveloped me. When then the mist left Youko was standing there.

<Mika>

I was shocked when Kurama kissed me, I didn't think he liked me like that at all. Of course I had always hoped that he did but I never really suspected it. When he landed on top of me I had every intention of popping that balloon on his head, and maybe his kiss was a result of quick thinking, but it threw me for a loop. He immediatly pulled away and I missed the warmth of his lips on mine. He seemed embarassed, so in a moment of quick-thinking I kissed him back before he could apologize. I pulled away quickly, got up, and told him to not worry about it.
I hit him with with the water balloon and turned to make a quick retreat for more amo. I heard a noise and turned back, and my eyes met intense golden ones. They had a glint in them, and as much as I was curious as to how this would play out, Kurama told me about his Youko side and I knew some from the fire-side stories I heard from my childhood. But illregardless I had an urge to run.
I was still deciding when a smirk came over Youko's face. I decided right there that what was going to happen probably included a lot of water and me, so I turned and ran in the other direction.

<Nyx>

This was great! I loved water balloon fights! I snuck around on top of the temple, and when I was in position, I launched most of my water balloons at Yusuke and Kuwabara, and most of them hit. Those two were stationed right by the hose, making water balloon after water balloon, and had aquired quite a pile of them between them. While Yusuke was filling balloons, Kuwabara was making a fort to protect them both.
"Dirty cheaters" But since my attack they have been looking around for the source and neither thought to look up. I giggled behind my hand, but they heard me and begain throwing balloons up at the source of the noise. I took off back the way I had come and only managed to get hit once. I snuck around and noticed Yusuke had sent Kuwabara out as decoy so he could finish the fort. I hid behind a bush and threw one at him. He responded with accuracy that shocked the hell outta me, especially since I was dang near on the other side of the roof.
I was thrown off-balence and fell backwards, over the edge. Fortunetly or unfortunetly my wings erupted from my back, even though I couldn't fly on them they worked as a parachute and I was able to land softly on my feet, crouched down in a cat-like position. The unfortunetly part was Kuwabara had ran around the corner as soon as I had started to fall.
He stood there gaping with his mouth open like a fish. I felt a flush rise to my cheeks so I did the only thing I could think of, I threw a water balloon at him. Well it woke him up from his daze when he was hit in the face, but he turned and ran back to Yusuke. I looked around and I noticed a pair of red eyes on me. When my eyes met his, he turned his head away. Oh that pissed me off, first he watches, but if I catch him, he acts like he doesn't even care and I'm not worth his attention? It really bugged me, especically because he had been so...nice with me the night before.
He was always there! How?! I was mad, so I did the only thing someone can do in a situation like this: I threw a water balloon at Hiei. Since he had turned away he never saw it coming. It hit him in the shoulder and the next thing I knew, I was up against the wall of the temple with that katana, yet again, at my throat.
"You'll pay for that onna"
"You jerk, you deserved it!"
He growled deep in his throat and was about to say something when Yusuke and Kuwabara burst around the corner. They took one look at Hiei's wet shoulder, and me with his katana at my throat and started laughing. It wasn't so bad except they then saw my wings were still out and stood there and ogled them. I felt flustered and Hiei sensed it and smirked, and pushed me harder against the wall.
I began to panic, I didn't want them to see my wings, I'm not even completely sure why, but I needed to focus on something other then how close to Hiei I was so that was it. I quickly formed my blades, surprising even Hiei, hit his katana away, and took off at top speed toward the woods. Most people would think it would be hard to run with wings, but it's really not. I don't remember when I've ran that fast, and I could hear the others start to follow, so I chirped out some notes and knew the water balloons would be attacking them, giving me enough time for my retreat.
I chanced a glance back and saw that none of them were focused on me anymore, so I masked my energy and headed in a big loop back around to the temple. By now it was around 5 in the afternoon (So sorry I forgot to mention it's fall, like early October, sorry for the interruption) and the shadows were getting longer. This was one of the times I was happy I had black wings, it helped me hide, and I had escaped a lot of torture this way.
I crept over to the edge of the roof, and peered down. I almost started laughing at the scene that met my eyes, but knew if I did I would have been discovered. Yusuke and Kuwabara were running around in circles and trying to attack the balloons back, which only made them get more wet, and Hiei was slicing them up with his katana. I couldn't help it and giggled.
"Onna!" I gasped, 'Shit he heard me' and took off. I called out a frantic little song and one balloon hit him right in the face when his attention was focused on me, successfully allowing for my escape. I took off for the woods, and didn't stop until I was at a spot I didn't recongize. I decided it was maybe safe to start heading back veerrry slowly, and turned around. Dumb me I heard a noise, freaked, jumped too high in the air, and hit a tree branch. The last thing I remember is myself saying "Damnit" before it all went black.

~~~~~~~~~~Unconscious state/flashback type thing~~~~~~~~~~
I opened my eyes to be in a completely different setting. I stood up and was about to start walking when a figure walked from some cliffs toward a small village not too far away. "Hey, can you help me? I don't know where I am and..." I trailed off when I realized the figure couldn't hear me. Since I was invisible, I approached the figure, and when they heard a noise, turned to face me and my breathe caught in my throat, it was my mom.
She was wearing a long cloak and her wings were drawn in. Her long molten honey hair was tucked back. She hurried quickly on and I followed. I realized the reason the cliffs looked so familiar is because they were my home, the place of my raising and anguish.
I followed my mom past the village, into some small woods behind it. She went deeper and deeper, through a winding path. She finally came to a small hut, looked around her, then softly knocked and went in. I slipped in after her and settled into a corner.
I looked around and found myself in a what appeared to be a fortune-teller hut. Herbs were hung over the walls, scarfs with weird designs and colors were over everything, but the biggest clue was the deck of tarot cards and crystal ball that were on a table in the middle of the room, between two chairs, one big and red, the other smaller and wooden.
My mom was greeted by a short woman, with her graying dark hair pinned up in a bun, with a purple scarf holding it back. She had bangles on each arm, a flowing green skirt, a loose white top, and dark skin. She montioned her to sit down, and my mother complied. The woman sat down across from her, "Are you sure you want to hear this?" My mother nodded as she took off her cloak. She also let her hair down and her wings out. They caught the light from some candles, her hair and wings seemed to glow golden.
The woman stretched her neck and positioned the ball in front of her. She gazed into its depths. For awhile nothing happened and I began to grow bored, until her head rolled back. It snapped back up and her dark eyes were glowing an unearthly yellow. The voice was not her own. (I do not own this, I got it from my lit book...lame I know, but I liked it)
"If you cannot bear the
silence and the darkness,
do not go there; if you dislike
black night and yawning
chasms, never make them
your profession. If you fear
the sound of water hurrying
through crevices toward un-
known and mysterious destina-
tions, do not consider it. Seek
out the sunshine. It is a simple
prescription. Avoid the darkness."
She paused to draw a breathe and her eyes somewhat lost their harsh glare and her voice took on a softer tone.
"It is a simple prescription, but
you will not follow it. You will turn
immediately to the darkness. You
will be drawn to it by the cords of fear
and of longing. You will imagine
that you are tired of the sun-
light; the waters that unnerve
you will tug in the ancient
recesses of your mind; the
midnight will seem rest-
ful--you will end by
going down."
She slumped forward when she was down and stayed like that for a second before she straightened back up. My mom looked slightly shaken, but there was no doubt that what she heard puzzled her. Even I knew what the message ment. She stood up and thanked the woman, before striding out of the house. She stopped and stared toward the ocean, and sighed. I began to feel myself slip back to my natural body. My words followed me back as I whispered them "She knew...she knew and she still went back to him..for love..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~End Flashback/unconscious state~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I woke up slowly, but that changed when a water balloon suddenly popped right on my face. I shot up to see a soaked Yusuke, Kuwabara, and Hiei all glaring at me. They had odd colored spots in some places and I wondered at that.
"Umm, hi guys, what's up?"
They all three glared at me. Just then Mika burst into the clearing, saw us, and ran to me. "There you are! I've been looking for-" I didn't hear the rest because a tall fox demon burst into the clearing after her. The others forgot about us and looked at him with surprise evident on their faces. He ignored all of them and walked with a purpose toward Mika. She moved behind me and I raised an eyebrow in question. She grinned in response and made an indication with her eyes. I got her meaning and turned back around.
The fox, which I took was Youko, standing with his arms crossed in front of him, and when his tail switched to one side, I saw it was rather wet...and green? I held back a giggle when I figured it out, Yusuke put food coloring in some of the balloons, and forgot which ones and Mika apparently one of them. They guys were not amused.
"Hey umm how about we go back and get ready for karaoke? You guys need to get cleaned up and Mika and I need to get ahh ready."
Nope, that didn't work. If anything they look madder. By now the sun was almost behind the trees and it was getting dark fast. I couldn't help but notice that the shadows were being thrown on Mika and I, meaning the boys were facing the sun. Since both Mika and I were dark complected, and my wings were black, we could blend well.
"Psst Mika, on the count of 3 jump as high as you can into the sun, then duck into some shadows, and run like a bat outta hell back to the temple" Thank God she taught me her language. The guys knew something was up, and the started coming in even closer.
"Three!"
We both shot into the air, the guys were temporarily blinded by the sun, and we shot off in different directions. We met back up at the temple and ran inside, laughing the whole way.
"So how was your day?" Now was a good time to try and get some answers on how Youko got out.
She grinned. "We-ll after we split up, he chased me to a hill, we fell down, and he kissed me!"
"Aww I knew you liked him" She gave me a look and I shut up.
"Well he looked embarassed that he kissed me so I kissed him, and through a water balloon at him. That's when he turned into Youko and I didn't know what to do so I ran. I ran around and got some more water balloons and we ducked through trees trying to hit eachother all afternoon.
"Then I remembered about the others, and in my moment of stillness, he pinned me against a tree and we ....kissed" She blushed a DEEP red and I grinned. "I'm so happy for you! Haha, I knew it was a matter of time!" She grinned "Yea, he's an amazing kisser, but I didn't want to go farther and well I think he did, so I tickled him to get away and ran looking for you guys and that's when we stumbled in on all the guys ganging up on you. Now I'm sure they had good reason so would you care to enlighten me?"
I told her what happened and she was cracking up by the time I was done. "That puts the icing on the cake, no wonder they were filling those balloons with sour milk." "What?!" She laughed again "Yea, when I was running from Youko, I saw them get some sour milk and start to fill up those balloons" "Those bastards! Damnit, wait that means they are still going to get revenge, so tonight, I'll sing so well they will forget...Hmm a plan is formed" I gave her a micheavious grin and we went off to get ready.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finally! holy moly that took forever! I am so sorry, I really didn't think that it would take THAT long, seriously. Hoped you liked it!
