Chapter 9:Final Preparations and Destinations!
Yumiko joined Hiei in getting a good look at the competition.''All of these are going to fight in the tournament?''she asked.Hiei shook his head.''There will be preliminary battles,only certain teams will even make it to the island.''
Yumiko nodded and shuffled her feet a bit.Where was Yusuke?He was SUPPOSED to be getting here with the sixth fighter.She sighed and looked around,adjusting the neck of her shirt so Yusuke wouldn't see Hiei's mark and totally flip.Kurama smiled sweetly at Yumiko and nodded towards her.She grimaced.Kurama knew.He ALWAYS knew.
Just as she was about to ask Hiei about the preliminary rounds,a demon of immense stature grabbed her arm.''Ahhh...a human. I've not had fun with one of your kind in a long time.''Yumiko rolled her eyes and looked at Hiei,who was ready to kill.''Don't waste your time on scum like this,dude.I'll get rid of it.''Yumiko formed an orb of black energy.''Hey mister monster man...MERRY FUCKING CHRISTMAS!''She threw the orb into his face.(In other words....extra crispy demon.hehehe)
She blew a kiss to his...fried form.''And a happy new year.''
The other teams around them edged away,already knowing that they didn't want to be on the recieving end of Yumiko's fury.Hiei stepped beside Yumiko. ''I can't stand demons like that.A bunch of weak hearted fools,the lot of them.Stick closer to me,Yumiko.You never can tell.''Yumiko's eye twitched.''Yes,mother.''Kuwabara laughed loudly and obnoxiously.''HAAHAH,serves you right,shrimp!''
A voice from behind stopped Hiei from slaughtering Kuwabara.(The baka...wow I love saying that...)''Hey guys,start the party without me?''Yumiko jumped on Yusuke.''YUSUKE!!!I've missed you,ya great lug!''Yusuke gave a confusedly confusedededed look.''Why are you so cheery?''Yumiko sweatdropped.''C-ch-ch-cheeeery? OH MY GOD I'VE BECOME ONE OF THE WALKING DEAAAAD!NOOO! I MUST DESTROY ALL THE MAKEUP AND BUNNIES AND DUCKIES!!!!!!!''
Kurama and Kuwabara fell over,and Hiei's eye twitched.He took her arm lightly.''Ummm Yumiko... I think you're scaring the Detective.''Kurama stood up.''And the rest of us as well.''Yumiko pouted.''Hmpf. Buncha spoil sports.''
Kuwabara pointed to the small figure next to Yusuke."Is THAT our sixth fighter!?The guy's shorter than Hiei!"Yumiko coughed loudly."AHEM!"Kuwabara backed away."But don't listen to me!Size doesn't matter!"Yumiko smiled happily."I think I've got him trained pretty well,don't you think?"The masked fighter walked past the others,and towards the boat.
Yusuke yawned."AHHHH...hike's take a lot out of you,ya know?"Yumiko nodded."Yah...you should take a nap on the boat."
Everyone walked onto the ship,keeping their distance from the many other teams.Yusuke slumped down against the railing and at once started snoring.Hiei growled."I say we just off everyone else on the boat and get through with it."The captain's voice rang out."Okay me hearties,time to choose a fighter for the preliminaries!One fighter from each team,last one standin's team goes onto the tournament."A huge arena opened from the middle of the ship.Kuwabara's jaw dropped."Hey,but aren't we the guests!?"Kurama shook his head."It doesn't matter."
The masked fighter walked over to the arena that had shook the boat moments before.A demon from each team did the same."Okay...FIGHT!"The masked fighter looked on as all the demons ran at him,and summoned a powerful Shotgun,disintegrating them all.Yumiko grinned."Cool cool."
The other demons on the boat looked stunned."I say we charge em!"They yelled.Hiei spat to the side."They took my idea.They will have to pay."
Several ran at Hiei and he deftly sliced them open with his katana,as did Kuwabara and Kurama with their spirit sword and rose whip.Yumiko simply dodged them with her speed,causing them to fall overboard."Oopsie,pardon me,going for a swim?"she smiled and laughed."This is pathetic,eh Hiei?"He simply smirked and continued to slice em and dice em.Kurama was doing a series of flips and complex moves with his whip."Yumiko,you truely are one of a kind."Yumiko nodded as another flew at her and she sidestepped him."These things are so---YUSUKE!!!"
A demon was running right at the sleeping form of her cousin."Urameshi!"Kuwabara yelled.Yusuke still did not awaken,but as the demon got in range he let out a fury of fists."STUPID GRANDMA I DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THIS!!!!!"The demon was knocked unconscious and Yusuke fell back into his normal sleeping position.Hiei sweatdropped."That was...strange."The masked fighter knocked out the last of the opposing demons.Kuwabara held up his spirit sword."Hey that was way too easy!"
Yumiko looked over the side of the boat at Hanging Neck Island."I assure you,Kuwabara...the tournament itself will not be..."
