Chapter: 4
=================================================
The next morning found everyone sleeping peacefully, that is until, “Ah! It's trying to kill me! Get it off!”
From the few years he had spent in Makai Yusuke had become a light sleeper. He jumped out of bed getting into a fighting stance, and looked around the room for the cause of the problem.
“What is it?” he asked looking over at Kuwabara, but sighed seeing it was just Akuma, she had turned into her bigger form, about the size of normal dog, and was growling mincingly at Kuwabara.
“Akuma leave Kuwabara alone, he's friend, not food,” Yusuke said pulling the cat off of Kuwabara. It turned back into a kitten and climbed onto his head.
“What's it with animals and my head?” Yusuke asked as Kuwabara snickered.
“Is there something wrong, we heard yelling?” asked Kurama opening the door that joined the two rooms sticking his head in.
“Everything's fine, Akuma just thought Kuwabara would make a nice morning snack,” Yusuke said in a bored tone.
With a stretch and a yawn Kurama entered the room right as his pet raven landed on his shoulder and in Yusuke's voice said, “Morning snack! Ca-ca!”
They just stared at the bird before Kurama said, “I guess he's hungry.”
“When did you guys get such--weird pets?” Kuwabara asked.
“Just yesterday why?” asked Yusuke.
“No reason just wondering,” Kuwabara replied.
“So what's up for the agenda today?” Yusuke asked Kurama.
“Fist we have to go get Kuwabara's stuff, but that shouldn't take too long, and then we are going to study,” Kurama answered.
“What! Why are we going to study, school doesn't start till August and it's only the second week in July!” Yusuke complained.
“We're starting as sixth-years and we don't know the first thing about casting spells,” Kurama argued.
“Spells?” asked Kuwabara puzzled.
Realization dawned on them that Kuwabara didn't even know where or what the mission was about.
“Our mission, Kuwabara, is to go undercover as exchange students into a wizard and witch school called Hogwarts,” Kurama explained.
“Hold on wizard—witch?” asked Kuwabara eyes going big.
“Yes, we're in a magical community,” Kurama replied.
“So, you mean I get to do magic!” Kuwabara asked excitedly.
“Yes, did Botan give you your wand?” asked Kurama.
“Wand, no we were in such a rush I guess she forgot,” Kuwabara said crestfallen.
At this the door dividing the rooms opened and Hiei walked in with his miniature black dragon nestled on his shoulder, its eyes swirling an emerald green. Eyes going big Kuwabara asked, “When did the dragon get off your arm? And why is it so small?”
“Idiot, this isn't the dragon of darkness, this is Tsuki,” Hiei growled, he wasn't a morning person and it had been Kuwabara's scream that had woken him up.
“So it's Akuma, Tsuki, and --?” questioned Kuwabara pointing at Kurama's raven.
“Kaitou,” Kurama supplied.
“Poor Ekichi,” Kuwabara said realizing he had left her in her cage all night, even though that was probably the safest place for her considering the other pets. He pulled her out into his lap where she started purring at the attention.
“Kuwabara you can borrow one of my robes till we can get some for you,” Kurama said going into his room to find a robe.
“A robe?” asked Kuwabara thinking of a bathrobe.
“Yeah, one of these things,” Yusuke said picking his up off the floor.
“I know what a robe is, but why do we have to wear them?”
“You'll see,” was all Yusuke said as he grabbed his robe, shirt and pants, and headed into the bathroom between the two rooms. With a frown Kuwabara watched him leave right as Kurama came through the other door with a black robe in hand. He handed it to Kuwabara, “I think it should fit, just might be a little short.”
Trying it on Kuwabara moved to look at himself in the mirror, with just his boxers on since he hadn't change yet, he looked pretty funny.
Then to his surprise his own image started to laugh at him, leaning over clutching his side.
“What's so funny!” Kuwabara yelled.
“I hope you're not going out like that, you'd scare everyone away,” laughed his reflection.
“Why you,” Kuwabara said as he lunged at the mirror, but was stopped by Kurama, who pulled him away form the mirror.
“It's just a mirror, if you break it we have to pay for it,” Kurama a dangerous glint in his eyes.
“Speaking of paying, Kurama, I thought we used up most of our money yesterday?” Hiei said with a frown, “How do we plain on paying for the Idiot's things?”
“We did, but I know where we can get more,” Kurama answered. Hiei eyed him for a second then asked, “Yoko?”
“No, a legal way,” Kurama replied with a grin.
Hiei grinned when he saw the disappointment flick through his friend's eyes with a speck of gold. Once a thief always a thief.
“So when are we going to eat, I'm starved,” Yusuke asked coming out of the bathroom now in his black robe, another green shirt, and white pants.
“My stomach agrees with Yusuke, when are we eating?” asked Kuwabara his stomach growling slightly.
“I guess as soon as I change,” Kurama answered as he went back into his and Hiei's room.
About ten minutes later they where down in the pub and sitting at a round table. They had just gotten done ordering and were waiting for their drinks.
“Wow, everyone looks so gloomy,” Kuwabara commented as he looked about at the shadowy figures his eyes then landed on the blue haired girl coming to them with a bright smile on her face.
“All that is except her, hey Botan,” Kuwabara said once she was close enough so he didn't have to yell.
“Botan?” asked Yusuke turning to see the blue haired fairygirl coming towards them.
“I forgot to give Kuwabara his gadgets last night, so I thought I might bring them and wake you guys up, but it appears I'm a little late,” sighed Botan.
“Yusuke's cat thought I'd make a nice morning snack,” Kuwabara muttered, glaring at the little black cat that was sitting on Yusuke's head. Hiei's dragon had gone off to hunt with orders to stay in the room since a miniature dragon would draw unwanted attention, and Kurama's raven had joined the dragon. Ekichi was also locked up in the room with the promise of food when Kuwabara got back.
Botan snickered at this and took a seat in-between Kurama and Yusuke, “Lets see here, here is your language charm and your illusions ring.” Botan handed them over and Kuwabara put on his language charm, which was a leather cocker with a peace sign hanging from it.
“And here is your wand, hickory wood with the core of a unicorn hair,” Botan said as she passed him the case.
“Cool,” Kuwabara said as he looked at his new wand. While Kuwabara was looking at his new stuff Kurama got Botan's attention.
“Am I correct in guessing that the golden key in the bag of money goes to a vault in Gringotts Wizarding Bank,” asked Kurama.
“Yes, and there is quit a bit, but don't go buying everything you see, it's not ours, it's Dumbledore's,” Botan said in a serous tone.
“Don't worry Botan, do you really think we'd go spending all of his money?” asked Yusuke with a look that practically yelled yes, I would.
Botan didn't look too convinced. “Did you have a good meeting with Dumbledore?”
“Yeah, I guess,” Yusuke said with a shrug, but looked on hungrily as their food was placed before them. Both Yusuke and Kuwabara dug into their food completely lacking any table manners.
“Who or where should I go to get the Daily Prophet?” Kurama asked Botan.
“Oh, you can probably go to the newspaper place and get a subscription,” Botan answered.
“Anything else we need to know?” Kurama asked.
“No not really, I guess I'll go now, I have someone in about two minutes, bye!” Botan said as she left out the front of the pub.
“Where'd she go?” Yusuke asked through a mouthful of food.
“To work,” Kurama said as he started on his food.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You're right, this place does have good food,” Kuwabara said as he took a bite of his turkey sandwich. They where back at the restaurant they had eaten at yesterday. Hiei again ordered his ice-cream swirl cone and was munching away on it, Kurama had gotten a salad today, and Yusuke barbecue ribs.
“Told you,” Yusuke said through a mouthful of meat.
“Clean yourself up,” Kurama said as he gave Yusuke a napkin, which he just put aside.
Swallowing his mouthful Yusuke replied, “I will as soon as I'm done, mother.”
Kuwabara snickered at this, but stopped when Kurama turned his glare on him.
“Bakas,” was Hiei's only comment.
“You'll think I'm your worst nightmare when we get back to the room,” Kurama replied with a sly grin that reminded them too much of Yoko.
“What are you going to do?” Yusuke asked, “Go foxy on us?”
“You'll see,” was all Kurama said, causing Yusuke to wonder what death sentence he had just signed.
“More?” Hiei asked looking hopefully at Kurama who had the money.
“You've had three already, anymore and you might get brain-freeze,” Kurama glared back.
“I'm a fire demon, I don't think it's very likely,” Hiei said a little more like his grouchy self.
“No, if you're still hungry get a sandwich, but no more ice-cream,” Kurama said stubbornly.
“Hn, I'll go get some myself then,” Hiei said getting up.
“Fine, you can have some more, but not till supper,” Kurama said giving in, not wanting Hiei to cause any trouble. Thinking it over Hiei gave in too, he really hadn't had any idea where he was going to go get more ice-cream without getting caught, so this saved him the trouble all together, and he still got ice-cream.
Once through they headed back to the room with Kuwabara's new stuff they had bought earlier. Once back in the room all four, except Hiei, took off their robes, and Kuwabara went to put up his stuff. They had decided to study in Kurama and Hiei's room because it was less junky, but the door in-between was opened up so that the pets could go wherever they wanted.
“Do we have to,” complained Yusuke.
“Yes, first we'll start with simple spells,” Kurama said as he pulled out a feather.
`The levitation spell should do nicely, nothing to bad can come from lifting a feather, I hope,' Kurama thought as he looked at Yusuke and said, “You first, flick your wand at the feather and say, `Wingardian Leveousa'.”
Yusuke did as told, and the feather rose slightly before falling.
“Maybe a little more power,” Kurama suggested.
“Wingardian Leveousa!” Yusuke said this time with more force and the feather came up with so much force it snapped in half and floated right in front of Yusuke's wand glowing a soft blue.
“Is that normal?” Yusuke asked.
“Breaking the feather - no, for that just use less power, and the aura - I don't know,” Kurama said as he looked through the book, “It doesn't say anything about it.”
“Whatever,” Yusuke said as he took away his power and the feather fell lightly back to the table in two pieces. Kurama pulled out another feather and placed in on the table.
“Next?” he asked.
“Me! Me next,” Kuwabara said excitedly, a big grin on his face.
“Wingardian Leveousa!” he said excitedly, but the feather didn't move.
“Ha, can't even do magic!” Yusuke taunted.
“Shut-up Urameshi, I'll show you,” Kuwabara said, this time he concentrating on the feather more.
“Wingardian Leveousa,” he said in a controlled tone, and this time the feather rose for a second then snapped up to his wands height, and this time it had a orange-red glow to it, like Kuwabara's spirit sword.
“Interesting,” Kurama mussed, “Hiei your turn.”
“No”
“Hiei, you must.”
“I don't have to do anything,” Hiei defended.
“He probable can't do it,” Kuwabara laughed.
“Or he's to scared,” Yusuke added in with a folding his arms like wings and making sounds like a chicken, knowing Hiei couldn't resist with them teasing him.
“Fine, I'll do it, but only to prove I can,” Hiei said glaring at the two smug looking humans, well human and half human.
“Wingardian Leveousa,” Hiei mumbled, but nothing happened. Yusuke and Kuwabara snickered.
“Maybe if you actually tried?” Kurama suggested to his sulking friend, which just earned him a death glare.
“Fine, wingardian leveousa,” this said, the feather promptly snapped up, but caught on fire as Hiei's energy burned it up.
Kuwabara and Yusuke burst out laughing, which earned them both a hit on the head from Kurama before Hiei could do worse.
“Hmm, not good, let me try,” Kurama said as he got out his wand.
“Wingardian Leveousa,” he said and the feather snapped up perfectly and had a golden-white glow to it.
“Show off,” Yusuke mumbled.
“It seems Hiei's energy might be too hot for the feather,” Kurama said. “Let's try something less likely to burn, and Hiei try to focus on not burning the brush,” Kurama said as he place the brush he had bought today on the table in front of Hiei.
“Wingardian Leveousa!” the brush floated off the table then snapped up to Hiei's wand's height with a black glow surrounding it. Some of the red hairs in the brush sizzled giving off the foul smell of burning hair, but other than that nothing happened to the brush.
“You just have to remember about that energy of yours,” Kurama said as Hiei placed the brush back onto the table.
“Now everyone get your books and start reading,” Kurama ordered as he went to each of the doors and placed large Makai human eating death plants in front them, and turned back to the others with a sly grin. Yusuke suddenly remember the threat Kurama had made at lunch and groaned.
