Chapter 2: Sugga Baby and her Crew.

Soft feet skidded across the polished floors at the Hikaru household. The person sliding across the floors was a young girl, well, a girl of 16, whose name was Kai Hikaru. Her feet carried her to the bathroom of the second floor. Her pale hand reached out and grasped the golden colored handle of the white door. In her opinion her parents, like the rest of the world, had a too strong obsession with white.

The walls, everywhere, were white, everything in the bathrooms was white, her parents bed sheets and pillow sheets were white, the sofa was white, the kitchen counters were white, the shelves were white, everywhere white. Somehow Kai had managed to save her room, but only barely. She had left the white walls but had covered them with posters…large ones. Kai had nothing against the color white but after living with it for 16 years and the quantity of white, it got a little tiring after awhile.

She stepped onto the cold white marble floor of the bathroom and glanced at herself quickly in the mirror before turning around and taking a few steps toward the shower. Well, it was a shower and a bath, she had specifically requested that they not waste space ((when they were remodeling the house)) on a separate bath and shower. Kai's parents hadn't understood at first, after all if they had the money why not use it?

Kai turned the carved plastic knob and blinked as the stream of water erupted from the shower head, briefly splattering her hand with the cold water. A chill ran through her body at the temperature of the water and she quickly twisted the knob so that the water would get warmer. She couldn't understand the people who willingly took bath's or showers with icy water, and she felt sorry for those who had no choice in the matter.

The mirror she had been gazing in previously fogged up slightly, hiding her features. You could still see the outline of her short black hair and the outline of her small, pale body underneath the clothes. She stripped off her XL purple night shirt and threw it to the ground. She wriggled her way out of the pink shorts she had worn to bed and then tugged off her yellow panties.

Her hand left her side and dipped behind the white shower curtain to test the water.

`Perfect,' she thought as the warm water washed away the goose bumps she had received from the cold water earlier.

She tugged the white curtain aside and stepped in. She flinched as the water first hit her as an automatic reaction but her body quickly relaxed as the warm water massaged her back. Her hand reached up to her raven hair and trailed it down to where it touched her shoulders. She had bangs that touched the tops of her eyes, and then after that her raven hair remained the same length, although the front was maybe short by an inch or two in a layered fashion.

Knowing she had to hurry, even if she did wake up an hour and half before school started, she quickly lathered her hair with the two in one shampoo and rinsed her hair. She wondered briefly how she managed to get up every morning at the same time, after all, she was one of the laziest people in the town.

Kai stepped out of the shower, the water droplets clinging to her body but slowly dripping down her curves as she moved. She grabbed a towel and rubbed it over her body. She then bent over slightly to let her hair hang and wrapped the towel around her head. She lifted herself back up and glanced at the fogged mirror.

Kai moved forward and touched the mirror with her finger. When she pulled back there was a small, clear mark on the mirror where her finger had been. From the spot the water droplets she had created slid down the mirror. She flattened her hand on the mirror and tugged it across the mirror.

She found herself looking into her own crimson eyes. She narrowed and widened her eyes, maybe trying to see if she really had colored contacts that just melted onto her eyes and if she stretched them enough they would pop out to reveal normal eyes, maybe a dark brown….

“KAI! Are you up yet honey?” the overly sugared voice of her mother asked from down the stairs.

She resisted the urge to roll her eyes and opened the door just enough so she could yell out at her mother that she was.

“I'm always up before them, and you'd think the shower running would give her a hint,” she muttered as she grabbed a second towel to wrap around her waist.

Within the next thirty minutes she had pulled on her school uniform, yes, she went to a private school although Kai had repeatedly told her parents she would be fine going to a public school. The uniform was a navy blue, knee length skirt and a formal type shirt, the sailor looking ones with the turned over neck and the small tie. A part of the uniform was also thigh high white stockings and black shoes. They were also given a jacket and leg warmers to wear when it got colder.

It was January so she was wearing her white leg warmers over her white stockings, although in Kai's opinion it looked ridiculous, and her navy blue jacket wrapped around her tightly. She grabbed the briefcase like bag she had to bring to school, like a good student whose parents were loaded, and walked down the wooden stairs, her heels making a clicking sound as she walked.

“Honey, I wish you wouldn't wear that,” her mother commented as she entered the kitchen.

They had this argument most mornings, to preserve some of her individuality Kai wore a checker shoe lace, well, two shoelaces, around her neck, a choker with a metal ring which had previously contained a skull but she had tugged that off, and a third black rubbed necklace with a charm at the end of it. On her ears were different earrings, today it was the three chained earring with the Ankh and two different styles of crosses and the small spider earring that had a diamond as the body.

“Let's not start this again, you know I'm not going to take them off,” she replied as she picked up a piece of toast from the small basket that had been laid out.

Out of the corner of her eyes she saw her mother shake her head. She was a beautiful woman, although she was 40 she looked as if she had just gotten out of high school. She had long blond hair that fell in natural curls and bright blue eyes that always seemed to be smiling. She had the perfect body, almost as if she was a blond Angelina Jolie.

“Morning Princess,” a second voice said behind her and she turned to nod her father hello.

Every now and then Kai wondered why her mother had chosen her father when she could've had anyone in the world, but then again, love was crazy. Her father's hair line was already halfway to the back of his head, making him look ridiculous and he refused to buy a wig or comb hair over it to make it look like it had just thinned out. He wasn't fit, but healthy enough. A round, short man, much unlike his well built, 5 foot five.

“I'm leaving,” Kai announced as her parents gave each other their morning kisses.

Just four months ago Kai had received her license and she had stopped having to rely on her parents for a ride to school and back, or a ride to anywhere. She was happy for that, a bit more freedom and her parents wouldn't be tailing her. Yes, she could've walked to some places but she disliked the cold and most of the places she wanted to go to weren't within walking distance.

She slid into her red mustang and turned on the heating after she had turned on the car. She ran her hand over the leather seat searching for her seatbelt and after finding it, tugged it across her body. Kai knew the way to school so well that she could've done it sleeping, which she almost did, except it was more of a trance like state. Sometimes this worried her, one day she might not be paying attention and she'd hit something and have to pay a hefty fine.

Of course her parents would pay for it but still, it bothered her. She pulled into the school parking lot and stepped out. Kai locked her car and slipped the keys to her car into a small pocket inside of her bag. Her eyes traveled across the white walls that surrounded the school building and the courtyard. The school building rose behind it high into the air. Kai's school, The Sun Hill Private School, had 4 floors and a room at the top of the building that held equipment and other things. Behind the school was a large area where they had a stadium for games such as Football, Soccer, Track, the sports that required space outside.

They also had a building that held the Fitness Room and indoor courts for Volleyball and Basketball, and any other sport that required indoor conditions. The front of the school was decorated by a 5 foot rim of grass and trees next to the wall, and a flower garden running along the front wall of the school. There was a small set of stairs that led to the glass doors that led into the building.

Kai sighed and walked forward to the opening that was left so that students and other people would be able to walk in and out of the school. Even if it was another 20 minutes until school began the front yard had decent number of students gathered already. She ignored them and only turned around as she heard her name called.

“Sugga Baby!” a male voice yelled and she turned around just in time to raise her hands to protect herself.

She was wrapped up into strong arms and as she opened her eyes which she had closed at impact she gave a grin to the boy that had spotted her first.

“Morning Mike,” she said as the boy let her go and stepped back to turn and wave at the group of people he had sprinted away from.

Mike was a boy who stood at 5”11. He had mouse brown hair that no matter what he did flipped over his right eye. It was cut at the neck as most boys had it. He was well built and was the goal keeper for the soccer team.

“Mornin' Sugga,” a voice said with a soft southern slur.

Kai moved past Mike and went to wrap her arms around the girl who had called her name.

“Where'd you pick up the accent?” Kai asked laughing as she parted from her friend.

“We went down south for the small break, you know, to get away from the cold,” she said with a laugh, her dimples showing as she smiled.

The girl's name was Kayla, she had chocolate skin, brown eyes, and soft plump lips. She was one of the smartest girls at the school and was often called on to help the group with various assignments. She had black hair that stopped below her shoulder blades although she usually wore it up in a ponytail.

“What?! No hello for me? I'm gonna go cry now,” two voices chorused at the same time and Kai turned around with a laugh to face the two people they had dubbed the twins.

Nora and Kyle weren't actually related, they didn't even look alike but they had a tendency to say things at the same time, think alike, and behave alike so that they had been named the Gemini's.

“I'm sorry, I was preoccupied by someone more important,” Kai teased as she shared a hug with each of them.

Nora had short blond hair that stopped below her earlobes and light brown eyes. She was slightly rounded even if she did watch what she ate carefully. She had high cholesterol that was passed down to her by her mother and she constantly muttered soft halfhearted curses at her mother for having it. She had a warm laugh and was always ready to help. While she wasn't the smartest of the group there was one thing she could do well and that was write.

Kyle on the other hand looked anorexic. Everyone knew he wasn't, he could finish 5 large pizza's by himself and still be hungry, they assumed it was fast metabolism. He had dirty blond hair that looked more brown. It was cut long in the back so that it ran along his neck, they had dubbed it Kyle's Tail. He was 5 feet and hated sports although when forced to he could run. Kyle had been previously offered a place on the Track team but he had immediately refused it, everyone, at least those who knew him, knew that he loathed sports and would rather spend time inside playing video games or reading.

“Where's Tara?” Kai asked as she looked around in search for their red head friend.

“I don' know, she was here earlier…” Kayla muttered as her brown eyes searched the crowd for her.

Tara was a well muscled girl and stood at 4”11. She was part of the basketball team and was one of their star players. She was fast and enjoyed to play sports. Tara had also taken martial arts when she was little but when her parents had given her a choice she had quit. Even though the school knew her as the sporty one she had a secret obsession for plants and cooking. Whenever she could she brought the group small lunches and snacks which were always accepted with enthusiasm. She had curly red hair that stopped at her shoulders and trailed a bit longer in the back to her shoulder blades. Her eyes were hazel which threw many people off. Not many people were red heads with hazel eyes. But if you knew her parents then it made sense a little. In both of the family's hazel eyes had been dominant and if you looked carefully the trait for red hair was recessive. It was just her luck that she would get the hazel eyes and red hair.

As they were talking they barely heard the bell ring and Kai jumped a bit as Nora tugged her arm.

“Time to go,” she said as she pulled Kai with her.

“I can walk by myself you know!” she exclaimed with a laugh as she hurried to catch up with her friends.

If I get a decent number of reviews you'll get another chapter!
