Tama: Chapter three!

Nori: Took ya long enough.

Tama: Hey! I do have a life besides fan fiction, you know.

Nori: Not much of one…

Tama: Ha, yea, that's kinda true…but same for you.

Nori: Haha yupp. ^_^

Tama: Hiei, will you do the disclaimer?

Hiei: *glares* You owe me. Tama doesn't own Yu Yu Hakusho or any of its characters or ideas, but she does own Kita and any future OCs.

“Tell me what?” Kita asked. “Kurama, you said that you were taking me here to heal my shoulder. That's it.”

“Well, we will heal your shoulder. But…,” he sighed. “There's more to it than that.” Kita looked at him with fear and confusion in her eyes. In the back of her mind, she knew she had just met him, and shouldn't put her life in his hands or anything like that. But she had sort of trusted him. And that could've been a huge mistake.

“You see, Kita, you aren't who you think you are,” the brown haired guy said.

“What do you mean, I'm not who I think I am. I know who I am. I'm Sato Kita, average fifteen year old. Who else could I be?” she asked, anger in her voice. She was getting frustrated.

“Yes, you are. But that's not all,” he said. “This may come as a shock to you, Kita, but…you…you're a….you're a demon.”

Everyone was silent, waiting for Kita's reaction. She just stared at the guy. Then she burst out laughing.

“Ha! Me? A demon? Yea, you've gotta be kidding me. What the hell are you smoking, dude?” she blurted out as she laughed.

“Kita, I'm serious,” he said sternly. “I know what I'm talking about. And if you don't think demons exist, then I can prove it to you.” She continued to laugh. The guy just sighed and nodded to Kurama. Kurama sighed as well, then began his transformation.

As Kita watched, she went from cracking up to total disbelief. She thought she was going crazy.

“Kita, this is Youko Kurama, Kurama's demon form. He is, in fact, very similar to you,” the guy explained. “Do I have your attention now?” Kita just nodded. “Good.”

The guy went on to introduce himself as Koenma, Prince of the Spirit World. He showed Kita how he was in reality a toddler who could turn into a teenager. Botan was introduced as the Grim Reaper, which Kita found very hard to believe. She was so bright and bubbly. She had light blue hair and wore a pink kimono. That's definitely not how most people picture the epitome of death.

Koenma introduced Yusuke Urameshi, lead spirit detective who was also a demon. A Mazaku, to be exact. Yusuke had short black hair and looked like a total dead-beat. But he looked strong.

Kuwabara was about the biggest idiot Kita had ever seen. This fact made her lighten up a bit, and came to believe more and more that this was for real. Kazuma Kuwabara had bright orange hair and was freakishly tall. It was his voice though, that made him so unique. He kept trying to hit on an ice maiden named Yukina, who wanted absolutely nothing to do with him. Kita laughed at his failed efforts.

Keiko, Yusuke's “girlfriend”, or whatever she was to him, was probably the nicest of the bunch. She really seemed to sympathize with Kita, yet she wasn't sure why.

Perhaps the strangest person she met that day was the one she was most intimidated by. They called him Hiei, and it was apparent that he wanted nothing to do with her. But she made it her goal to win him over, just simply because she knew she could.

Kurama had changed back into his human form, and Koenma described him as the brain of the Reikei Tentai, a fighting team that consisted of Yusuke, Kurama, Hiei and Kuwabara in order to defend the Human World and Spirit World.

The short woman was Genkai, and apparently she had trained Yusuke to become the fighter that he was. Kita couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor woman, having to deal with Yusuke everyday.

After all introductions were done, Koenma paused.

“I supposed you'll need awhile to take this all in,” he suggested. Kita looked up and him and shook her head.

“Actually, I'd like to know how I fit into all of this,” she replied. Koenma nodded.

“It's…complicated,” he said. “Back in demon world, there's a powerful family that is basically considered royalty. They're called the Ronins. They've been in power in half of demon world for centuries. They're known to be ruthless and violent leaders, as would be expected in Makai. Crossing them is basically a death wish.”

“But how does that pertain to me?” Kita interrupted.

“I'm getting there,” Koenma assured her. “The Ronins give all of their power to their lord. He has the final say in anything done in his side of Demon World. And when he's not happy, there's hell to pay. The current lord's name is Kano, and he's the most ruthless leader that they've had in a long time. When things are done behind his back, those people are as good as dead.” Koenma paused and looked at Kurama, then continued.

“Lord Kano and Lady Kohana had four children altogether. Three sons: Taro, Hitomi, and Saburo, and one daughter: Ayame. Or so he thought. When his daughter was 15, it was discovered that he was not her real father. Ayame's real father was one of Kano's military leaders, named Hisoka. Kano was so outraged, that he had Hisoka and Lady Kohana, the mother of his other three children, killed on the spot. What he didn't realize was the amount of power that Hisoka possessed that was inherited by his daughter. Hisoka was a demon of fire. Ayame was really a fire fox, and a huge threat to Kano, just like her father. Once he realized the power that she held, he ordered her execution as well. But Ayame was ahead of the game, and had already escaped. For days, the Ronin army chased her all over Demon World. She was eventually captured, however, and killed. And life went back to normal in Makai.” There was silence.

“That's really sad and all, Koenma, but I'm still lost. What does some dead girl in Demon World have to do with me?” Kita asked, confused.

“Because, Kita, you are her,” he snapped. Kita's eyes widened in disbelief.

“Wh-what?” she stuttered.

“Ayame was somehow reincarnated. Your soul is the same as hers,” Koenma explained. “And Kano knows. He wants to finish off Ayame for good. Which means he's after you.”

Kita had to sit down. She wasn't understanding this at all. Well, she was, but why her? What had she ever done to deserve this? Her soul was her own, not that Ayame girl's.

“Kita, it also means that you possess all the same powers that Ayame had. And on your sixteenth birthday, when those powers fully mature, Kano will try to kill you. You need to be able to defend yourself against him,” he said.

“And how do you propose I do that?” she burst out. “From what you've said, this guy could kill me without blinking an eye. I got tired walking up this flight of stairs! How the hell am I going to protect myself against him!??!?!”

“That's why you're here. To train. These are some of the best fighters in the world, and they're going to train you to use your powers and defend yourself. By the time you're sixteen, they'll make sure you're ready.” Kita looked up at the nine people standing around her. She knew that whether she liked it or not, her life was in their hands.

“Great,” she thought. “I'm screwed.”
