Chapter 5: Koenma's Message

**************************************************************** ********

Yusuke sighed as he began to tell his comrades about the incident that happened in second period.

"Well ok, I don't want to get into too much detail, so here is the short version," Yusuke began…

***

It was time to go to second period. Hiei and Kurama had to go to science class while Yusuke and Kuwabara had to get to math. Botan was left with literature class.

Kuwabara and Yusuke seated themselves in the very back of the class, so they wouldn't be noticed as much.

"Man, I hate math… can't we just ditch?" Yusuke looked over to Kuwabara.

"Sorry Urameshi, but I think we better stick this out, I mean we do have to find that prince…" Kuwabara acted all intelligent like… key word, `acted'.

"How boring…" Yusuke sighed, and was about to put his head down when a certain someone popped out of nowhere.

"What are you sighing about? I have good news for you!" Botan tapped the two boys on the shoulder.

"BOTAN!!!" The two fighters jumped.

"What are you doing here? Aren't you in the other class?" Yusuke asked, slightly loosing his temper.

"Yes, well, I need to talk to you outside the classroom… I have an important message from Koenma," Botan lowered her voice.

"Follow me, Mr. Nakamura already gave me permission to talk to you…" Botan started toward the door. Yusuke and Kuwabara followed.

The three reached the door, and walked out. Botan lead them to the lockers where there were no students lurking around, except for one rather bulky one…

Yusuke, Kuwabara and Botan saw the boy.

"Excuse me but will you do me a favor and leave?" Yusuke spat at the boy.

That boy was wearing all black punker cloths that were covered in drawings of skulls, red fire, and chains. He wore baggy, black pants and had a thick, chain hanging around his neck. He had dark brown hair, and matching eyes. His teeth were slightly tan, but still white. He was a buff boy. He turned to Yusuke.

"Don't tell Dice what to do." He answered back with an attitude.

"Move or I will cause you pain like hell…" Yusuke glared at Dice.

"Hm, you wanna fight, dude?" He spat onto the ground.

"Fine with me, but just as a warning I might get a little carried away, because I'm not in the best of moods…" Yusuke accepted the challenge.

"What about me, Kazuma Kuwabara, the toughest fighter in all of…" Yusuke cut him off.

"Kuwabara, this is MY fight, got it?" Yusuke looked at Kuwabara. For a split second a twinkle of danger lurked in his eyes.

Kuwabara nodded and backed away. Yusuke stepped forward but was stopped by Botan.

"Yusuke! You don't know if he is the one we are looking for! And we don't have time to fight, we must talk to Koenma, he said he has some important information about the mission!" Botan whispered to Yusuke with an angry tone.

Yusuke smirked.

"Well, are we's gonna fight or what?" Dice waited impatiently for the fight.

"Sorry, can't fight right now. How about after school at 3:15 sharp behind the school in the old field?" Yusuke looked at Dice.

"Fine with me, but if you chicken out, I'll come after ya'." Dice stated. Then he turned around and left the lockers, and headed to literature.

"Yusuke! I can believe you! You have no time to fight!" Botan scowled.

"Hm oh well, I guess we'll have to let this one fight slide." Yusuke smiled weirdly.

"Ok, Botan, I think you should take us to Koenma now, because you said earlier that he has some important info for us… might as well get it now before anyone comes." Kuwabara looked around, making sure no one was there.

"Ok, Kuwabara just said something smart… are you on drugs?" Yusuke nudged Kuwabara…

"YUSUKE!!!" Kuwabara yelled at the spirit detective and threw a punch at him, which was easily dodged by Yusuke.

"Boys this is no time to have a fight, we must talk to Koenma!" Botan broke up the fight.

"I swear Urameshi…" Kuwabara attempted to send a glare at Yusuke.

Suddenly, there was a fog in the air and Yusuke, Kuwabara, and Botan were in Koenma's office.

"Oh Koenma sir!" Botan looked at Koenma.

"Ok, pasi… Koenma, what do you need to tell us? This better be important!" Yusuke threw the words at Koenma.

"Now, now, Yusuke no nee to get all frustrated like…" Koenma's face, looked like as if he were irritated by something.

"So what news do you have for us Koenma sir?" Botan asked the toddler.

"Well it seems, the prince you are looking for isn't a prince…" Koenma began.

"Oh not a prince? Are we looking then for something of a lower class… um, a priest or something?" Kuwabara stupidly cut in.

Botan, Yusuke and Koenma looked strangely at Kuwabara.

"As I was saying, our prince that we are looking for isn't a prince…" Koenma started again.

"Then why the hell did you send us to look for some prince if we're not looking for a damn friggin' prince!!!" Yusuke yelled, his temper going up.

"I didn't know that it wasn't a price! Now, if you let me finish, I can tell you who you should be looking for!" Koenma glared at Yusuke for interrupting him.

"Damned stupid case… then who are we looking for?" Yusuke glared back at Koenma.

"There was a flaw in the mission. It isn't a prince that you were looking for. It was a princess." Koenma said as quickly as he could so no more interruptions would be made.

"A… PRINCESS?!?" Yusuke, Kuwabara and Botan said together. They were all in shock.

"Yes a princess. Now find her, and get her to me, oh and one more thing…" Koenma talked to the shocked spirit detectives.

"The princess has a black earring, with the melting ice flame in it, so you could look for that too, to help you find the girl quicker…" Koenma informed the three.

"Ok, got it." Botan managed a weak smile.

"A princess huh, this will be fun…" Yusuke got a perverted smile on his face, to his luck nobody heard him.

"We are looking for a girl? Ha! I bet she'll fall for me in an instant, but I already got my Yukina…" Kuwabara trailed off.

"Well, you best go now, you don't want to be too late for class!" Koenma snapped his fingers and the three were sent back to the lockers where they were formally standing.

"A girl… hm, well that's convenient! Because the dance is coming!" Yusuke smiled to himself.

"Well, let's go to class, we already missed period two and three, let's head to science…" Botan paced to the science lab, where Mr. Kitamura waited for three to arrive.

"Botan, are you going to ditch your class to be in ours?" Yusuke slyly smiled at Botan.

"Why not! Even though it's wrong, I can't just leave you two!" Botan giggled.

"Just when you think you have seen everything, you realize that Botan is about to ditch class…" Yusuke said to himself.

"Ok Botan! Will you be my lab partner?" Kuwabara addressed Botan.

"I think that all three of us will be partners…" Botan opened the door to the science class. The three were on time, so there was no punishment for the three from Mr. Kitamura.

The science class seemed so long… but finally ended. Mr. Kitamura held back the entire class because they were talking too much in the class, so Yusuke, Botan, and Kuwabara ended up late for lunch.

"I wonder what they will serve?" Kuwabara asked Botan.

"I don't know… I hope it tastes good!" Botan smiled as the trio stood in the line.

When it finally reached their turn to order, Botan bought a hamburger, Yusuke bought some chicken, and Kuwabara just stood there.

"Come on Kuwabara, order!" Yusuke nudged Kuwabara.

"Oh my god Urameshi, did you look at the prices? Ok I've decide, I'll buy the cheapest thing here!" Kuwabara bought mashed potatoes, peas and a turkey sandwich. Then he moronically smiled at his two comrades. It looked tasty but unfortunately, a tip that Hiei and Kurama received from a certain blonde haired girl wasn't passed on to Kuwabara.

"Oh look there's Hiei and Kurama!" Botan spotted the two youkai sitting at a table.

***

"Hn, so now we are forced to look for a baka princess which could be any of these foolish female niginens." Hiei smirked at the story. And now, he hated the mission even more.

"Yah! No we get to look for a girl!" Kuwabara had a ridiculous smile on his face.

Kurama rolled his eyes.

"The dance is this Friday, so we should all get dates, that way we can have better luck finding out princess! Ok so it's a deal, everyone must get dates for the dance!" Botan smiled at everyone. Hiei, Kurama, and Yusuke groaned. When Botan said everyone and must, she gave Yusuke, Hiei, and Kurama a good stare.

"Well if we must we must…" Kurama sighed.

I guess I will have a better chance finding the princess then those other three… Kurama thought, remembering all of the girls that were flirting and hinting him to ask the to the dance.

"I'm ok with it, but, if Kayko finds out…" Yusuke began.

"Don't worry! I tell Kayko that it's part of the mission! She'll understand!" Botan smiled, as Yusuke had a sigh escape his lips.

"Yah! I bet I'll have all of the pretty girl trying to get me! Cause, I'm Kazuma Kuwabara, the most manly of you all!" Kuwabara now looked like a retard.

Baka niginen… Hiei thought.

"Hn, I refuse to do such a pointless thing." Hiei stated.

"Koenma has the key to spirit jail, just keep that in mind, and if any of you do anything to screw up this mission, I can get him to get you a cell…" Botan angrily looked at Hiei.

"Hn." Hiei glared at her. Botan understood that his glare meant `I hate you, fine I'll do it, but the next time, I'll kill you'. She shivered at the thought.

I wonder what happened to Zan, it couldn't possibly take this long to go to the lockers and back… Kurama wondered.

***

Zan was walking towards the lunch area. When she got to the door took a deep breath wondering what consequences awaited her.

Oh well, at least it'll be fun while it lasts… Zan smirked to herself, remembering while she was walking down the hall, a whole bunch of students mistaken her for Kurama, although they did notice and wondered why Kurama looked so short, the red hair was way longer and it was straight, and they also wondered why such baggy cloths were sitting on "Kurama". Zan had changed into a pink uniform that resembled Kurama's uniform as close as possible, and she had put on a sweater on, which was about three sizes to big on her so people wouldn't notice her chest.

Why does his uniform have to be pink? Oh well, at least, it's not hot pink or else that would be horrible… Zan sighed.

She looked like Kurama, except for the long hair and baggy cloths. Zan took a deep breath and snuck in to the cafeteria un-noticed.

She then managed to pull a Houdini and slip into the shadows near Yume and Milkshake, who where approaching the spirit detectives.

Hm, this will be fun… all I have to do now is somehow switch places with Kurama… now how would I do that… oh! I know… Zan smiled to herself, this better work…

Zan took out her cell and called Mrs. Redleaf, the school nurse.

"Hello?" Mrs. Redleaf picked up the phone.

"Mrs. Redleaf? This is Zan, can you do me a favor?" Zan whispered into her phone while watching the two girls make their way towards Yusuke, Kuwabara, Botan, Kurama and Hiei.

"Zan? What do you need me to do? This sounds important…" Mrs. Redleaf worried.

"Can you please call Kurama to the office and try to keep him there for as long as possible?" Zan asked hurriedly.

"Sure, I understand, you will tell me if everything goes according to plan and if you get back at Yume and her posse." Mrs. Redleaf hung up.

How did she? Hm, I guess she knows me too well… Zan smiled and looked over to Yume and Milkshake who were almost at the table, perfect.

Zan inched her way out of the cafeteria and made it out of the room. She hid near the door so she can see Kurama walk out of it. She knew how Mrs. Redleaf was going to get him out of the room.

Back at the tables, Yume and Milkshake had reached the tables.

Oh this is just great… more fools to dealt with… Hiei leaned back in his chair glaring at the two girls, they look too happy, they must have pulled a prank on Zan… normally, I would check their minds to see if they had done anything, but that fool Koenma has restricted all of us to use our powers against the girls in this school. Stupid Koenma, if he didn't hold the keys to spirit jail… but it's not like I care if anything happened to the girl, she can be dead for all I care, hn, baka niginen…

"Hello, I'm Yume and this is Milkshake, nice to meet you." Yume looked at Hiei, Kurama and Yusuke, she ignored Kuwabara and Botan.

"Nice to meet you too," Botan hesitated a little but then smiled. She noticed Kurama and Hiei were staring at her with a tint of hate in their eyes.

What's wrong with those two? Botan wondered.

"Nice to meet ya too," Yusuke responded for the whole group.

"I'm Yusuke," Yusuke had a perverted grin on his face, but he didn't do anything, he must have had a twisted thought.

"Yes I know, you are Kurama, and you are Hiei." Yume responded, not even taking a glance at Botan and Kuwabara.

"I'm Botan, it's a pleasure to meet you to, Yume, Milkshake…" Botan smile at the two girls, not knowing what they were up to. Kurama and Hiei glared at Botan.

"And I'm Kazuma Kuwabara, the best fighter in this entire city," Kuwabara began, but was cut off by Kurama.

"It's, uh, nice to meet you." Kurama lied. When he said nice, he meant the exact opposite.

The two girls giggled. Milkshake and Yume looked over to Hiei. He glared at the two.

"Um ok, oh how about I sit with you guys?" Yume sat down in Zan's spot.

"Someone is already sitting there, I'm afraid," Kurama, said as politely as possible, "Zan is sitting there."

The two girls giggled.

"You shouldn't hang around her, she's a freak! She is just…" Yume stopped to see Kurama staring at her angrily.

"Ok…" Yume hesitated. She reached for Zan's pizza.

"That isn't yours." Hiei blurted out, taking his sushi.

"Oh! It's you food… hm, you aren't taking the pizza, so I guess I'll have it." Yume slyly smiled and took a bit out of the pizza Kurama was about to say something when suddenly, there was an announcement.

"Would Kurama of 9th grade please to the office, Kurama of the 9th grade, please report to the office," The announcement was over.

Oh, cash money! Finally, Mrs. Redleaf came through! Zan smiled, she was hiding right outside the door of the cafeteria.

"I guess I shall take my leave now." Kurama got up.

"See ya Kurama," Yusuke spoke for the group.

Hn, I wonder why they are sending for Kurama, then again, what do I care, the fox can take care of himself… Hiei smirked.

Hm, I wonder why they are sending for me, naturally, I haven't done anything wrong, or have I? Kurama wondered as he reached for the door, that lead him out of the lunchroom.

As soon as Kurama was out of Zan sight, she entered the cafeteria and headed to the table Kurama was previously sitting at.

"That was fast," Yume looked at Zan, but she thought it was Kurama. Zan had fooled everyone, even Hiei, because he was too lazy to even pay attention to anything that was going on.

"Hey Kurama, when did you have time to change? And has your hair always been that long?" Milkshake questioned. Zan nodded a yes. No of them noticed the height difference.

Zan looked at her food. Yume had eaten it. Sparks of anger would have flown everywhere, but Zan contained her temper.

She put on her Kurama voice.

"So, Yume, did you happen to see Zan at the lockers?" Zan slightly curled her lip.

"Um, n-n-no, um, why d-d-do you asked?" Yume got the chills.

Hm, I am going to have so much fun, Zan's eyes sparkled with mischief.

***

Meanwhile, Kurama was at the office. He had spotted Mrs. Redleaf leaning against her desk.

"Hello? It's me, Kurama, why was I called up?" He spoke to Mrs. Redleaf.

"You need a check up. I have heard that you are dyslectic, got a concussion, have brain damage, and that you have lung cancer. As a school nurse I must check if this is all true." Mrs. Redleaf smiled to herself, while putting on a worried face and pushed Kurama into the `nurse area'.

"Who told you that? I'm in peek condition! I can read perfectly, I don't have a concussion, I have NEVER done anything to give me brain damage, and I certainly do not have lung cancer!" Kurama stated to Mrs. Redleaf.

"Sorry gotta check! Gotta job to hold up! And if you argue with me, I will send you to the emergency room." The nurse smirked.

This lady is crazy, or could it be, that this is… a set up? Is this Zan's doing? No, if it was, why is she trying to get me away… I hate to say it but I'm stumped… No, I think this nurse is just a bit insane… Kurama's eye twitched while Mrs. Redleaf began to ask him ridiculous questions.

"So, Kurama, are you gay?" Mrs. Redleaf asked.

"No, I am perfectly straight…" Kurama twitched at the idea of being gay.

"Oh, then whose the lucky girl?"

Twitch. Twitch.

"Spill!"

"Naturally, I'm not going to tell you the GIRL that I like."

"Ok… on with the next question… If there was a girl in your school, that looked exactly like you, caused trouble, and then everybody thought it was you, what would you do?"

"This is ridiculous… I don't have a twin!" Kurama looked at the nurse. Little did Kurama know, there was a certain girl, in the lunch area pretending to be a certain fox. Mrs. Redleaf didn't know that she was actually asking something that wasn't that ridiculous. Mrs. Redleaf didn't know about Zan… it was just a random question… but how in the world did she come up with such an idea? Hm, she must have had a very creative mind and a strong bond with Zan…

***

Back at the tables, something was about to happen.

"Hm, Yume, would you like me to buy you a desert?" Zan asked.

"Sure Kurama!" Yume smiled.

Zan sweetly smiled back, but when she turned away, that sweet smile turned into an evil looking smirk.

Yes, I hope you will like your dessert very much, Zan smiled evilly and walked to the counter, and was ready to order who knows what.
