Felis Sisters-Ch. 3

Title: Daria's Story

Standing on the battlefield, tousled Daria's hair. She knew that this was the better way. Her two trusted advisors stood behind her. She was going to put an end to this war here and now.

"Phoebe, Dark Goddess of the Bangle Tribe, do you formally wish to end the hate between our people?" Phoebe stared at Daria with her inquisitive green eyes. They seemed to peer into Daria's very soul. Bright orange hair cascaded to her waist as her pale green robes blew in the wind.

"Yes, I do." Phoebe answered. "Daria, Dark Goddess of the Tigris Tribe, do you formally wish to take down the barrier that divides our tribes?"

"Yes. Well then, it's settled." Turning around to face her advisors, Ora and Mackenzie, she said, "Mackenzie, will you hand me the treaty?" Mackenzie did as she was told. "Thank you." Turning back to Phoebe, she said "My signature is already here. Yours, if you wish to sign, goes right here." Daria indicated a black line at the bottom of the scroll.

"I'll need a minute to talk it over with my counsel." Phoebe turned around and began whispering to her advisors."

Daria drowned out their loud thoughts. She looked at the battlefield where they were standing. This was where the Junga battle was held. She could remember so vividly…

Staring out the window of the tent, that had now become headquarters, she saw rows upon rows of Tigris warriors all lined up ready for battle. Glancing back into the tent, she noticed Jason, Alex, and Admiral Braxton all standing around a map, pointing to various places.

She strode over to Jason and tapped him on the shoulder. Jason turned around looked at her with hazel eyes. His was so blonde, it was almost white. His tan robes accented his tall frame.

"What is my one and only?" He whispered to her.

"There has to be a diplomatic solution to this!" Daria exclaimed. Her face was ragged from many sleepless nights.

"We've already tried that. This is the only way!" He said.

"It can't be! This entire world seems to be hell bent on violence!"

"That may be so. But this is the only option we have left." Daria was about to protest, when Admiral Braxton interrupted. He was a short, fat, balding man who loved the thrill of war. Stroking his barber cut mustache, he said

"Your Highness, the troops are ready for the first attack. Do you whish to proceed?" The Tigris queen gave a tired sigh.

"It seems there is no way I can convince anyone otherwise. So, yes, you may proceed."

"Excellent!" He said, with a chubby cheek grin "Oh, and by the way, congratulations on the upcoming wedding. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it. I have a rather large briefing to go to down at the base."

"Consider the briefing delayed, Admiral. It doesn't seem right that such a dear friend of the Felis family should miss such an important occasion." The Admiral gave another grin and waddled out of the tent, followed closely by Jason's best man, Alex.

"That was nice of you." Jason said, giving a small smile. He took her hands in his. He leaned down and placed a passionate kiss on her lips. "I love you so much."

"I love you too, with all of my heart." She whispered back. Jason turned and walked out of the tent. Tears began to roll down her cheeks as she took a seat at the table. She needed to regain her composure.

Suddenly a sharp pain shot thorough her head. Something was wrong. She jumped up and bolted out of the tent. The battle had begun, but she could feel that that wasn't it. Her eyes darted though the mass of grappling soldiers. Then she saw it-a Vinto bomb. There also seemed to be a small skirmish between the opposing forces around the bomb, but she couldn't quite make it out. A vinto bomb held deadly gas that, when set off, would kill everyone within a two-mile radius. If it was put right in the middle of the Tigris forces, it would wipe out all of them.

Daria watched in slow motion as the bomb flew through the air. She frantically searched through the mass of warriors for Jason, but couldn't spot him. All she could see was the bomb hitting the ground. Instinctively, she began to run away from the wake. She ducked behind a huge gray stone as pieces of shrapnel flew past her. When she stood up, she could no longer feel any life forces present.

"Jason?" She screamed as she sprinted through the rows of bodies.

"Jason!" Her heart stopped. She saw him, lying on the ground, dead. She ran to his side and picked up his lifeless body. The Dark Goddess screamed into the air as tears ran down her cheeks. She held her dead fiancée for what seemed like hours.

Daria delicately brushed the dirt and sweat from Jason's cold forehead. She needed to know if he had felt any pain. She laid her hand on his brow, closed her eyes, and began to scan his mind. He had felt little pain. Digging deeper, she found his last thought. It was…of her. A small smile reached her face.

Daria bent down and kissed Jason's cheek. She looked up into the bleak sky and vowed then and there that this would never happen again. There was a better way.

"We've made our decision."

"What?" said Daria, snapping out of her trance, "Oh, ah, yes, what is it?"

"We will sign." Taking out a pen, Phoebe began to sign. Suddenly, the ground began to shake.

"What's going on?" Daria asked, turning to a smirking Ora, "What is that?" Ora, a tall plain girl with green hair answered, "We're getting the bastards back."

"What are you talking about?" Daria screamed with rage as her stomach clinched.

"We planted a vinto 42k in the middle of the Bangle capitol."

"Are you mad? A 42k is the most powerful weapon on this planet!"

"I know. That's why the anti-peace group planted it there. Once the bomb explodes, it will kill every single one of the Bangles."

"YOU FOOL! That bomb will destroy our world! You have damned our entire civilization! Why would you betray me so?"

"It's a small price to pay to make sure those bastards go to hell."

"You're insane." Daria quickly turned to Phoebe, "We must get off this planet now!" She grabbed Phoebe's arm and ran for the emergency escape shuttle that was kept in the palace. Once they reached the palace gates, Daria knocked twice on a patch of dirt with a flower sticking out of it. It flipped over and a control panel went in its place.

"What are we doing?" Phoebe asked.

"We're getting the hell off this planet."

"How are we to do that?"

"I've got a pod." Daria pressed a series of buttons and the ground began to slide back to reveal a small shuttle.

"Quickly, get inside!" Daria yelled as a silver door swung open. The planet gave warning tremble.

All Phoebe and Daria could do was to hold each other as the shuttle launched itself into space. Their home planet gave one more violent shake before it exploded.

As the pod flew into space, the two Dark Goddesses realized that they were now truly sisters, for thy had formed a new bond that was stronger than genetics and thicker than blood

Author's Note: Hi guys, MorbidDancer89 here to say sorry this took me so long to post. Maybe it I had more feed back (cough, cough, hint, hint), it would have been quicker. Anywho, I thought I might clear up a few questions you might have. First of all, Catallieons is the name of Phoebe's and Daria's race. And their home planet is called Catalliea Prime, which I don't mention in the story.

See ya! Y'all come back now, ya hear! (I'm not from the South, but that slang is bitchin'!)
