Lil Lovely Angel: HELLO!!!!! ALL!!!! I'm in college now so I'm sorry I haven't been updating. I like college it's a good thing. Anyway, onward with the story.

She had stopped tugging from him and settled down in his arms. They were silent as he held her. Esmé was devastated and furious. Both feelings because Kurama had searched for and found her. “If I had the strength, I'd kill you now. You…you fool! Why did you have to come here? Huh? Why did you look for me? If you would have stayed with the youkos you could have overthrown Conya. Now that you're here my people will suffer. She'll send them to find me and many will rebel, others will follow. One way or another, many will fall.” Esmé said. Kurama shook his head in a way that puzzled Esmé. What could this possibly mean?

“I had Haku take the youkos to safety. They're in hiding and waiting for you to lead them. Please Esmé you have to go back with me, with us. We'll all go together.”

Esmé strayed away from Kurama, trying to contain her tears but they fell from her eyes. She couldn't defeated Conya before so what made him think he could defeat her now? She was powerless compared to Conya. “You have to try.” Kurama convinced. He held her tightly and soothed back her hair to comfort her. It was relaxing but it didn't drive her fears away. “Esmé, I think Yurimé has a way for you to overcome your fears. Please come with me to Aura's house.”

They dressed and went over to Aura's house where Yurimé, Eiji and Junichi were waiting. Yurimé walked to Esmé and took her into her embrace. “It's time little Celia. It's time for you to take what is yours. Take your place as the rightful queen of the youko clan. Before you do, I want you to speak with your parents before you go into battle.”

“I can't auntie. They're dead.”

Yurimé chuckled as she moved her red tresses from her face. “Your parents never left you child. They've been with you for so long. Remember the night before? When you were having the nightmare? They were calling to you. They want you to see the truth. You have to know what it is, what happened so many years ago.”

Esmé backed away from her aunt and looked at her reflection. The truth? The truth about her mother's death, the truth behind her father's illness. It would be a risk to pursue the truth but it was a risk she was willing to take and she would obtain what she wanted to know. Giving her consent, Yurimé led everyone to the temple below Esmé's home. “This is the place that Conya attempted to enter. Be very careful now Esmé.” She warned. Esmé approached the doors and looked up at it. “Take me inside without Conya knowing.”

A golden light flashed and everyone standing outside disappeared inside. Once inside, Esmé observed the inside. There were candles lit around and a dark pathway. “Go inside Esmé. There are no turns so you can't get lost. It's a straight pathway. Once you're reached your destination your parents will tell you everything.” Yurimé instructed. Esmé turned to Yurimé with concerned eyes. “You're not coming Yurimé? I can't go in alone. Kurama, can't you come with me?” She asked. Kurama took her hand and kissed it lightly. “You'll be ok. Your parents won't let you get hurt. Now go to them Esmé, I'll be waiting for you, we all will.” He assured.

Esmé nodded and started down the dark path. She walked with her eyes closed, falling the aura coming from down the path. She was anxious but she knew that her aunt wasn't lying and the aura lured her close.

“Esmé…”

“Esmé my darling. Look at you.”

“Mama, papa? Please show yourself. I want to see you. I miss you so much. I came here to see one last time. I…I want to know the truth. What happened all those years ago? Am I really responsible for your deaths? Am I as weak as Conya says?”

“Esmé, you're a strong woman with a gentle heart. I watched all those years as you cared for your father. Don't ever lose your kindness and your strength. It's the most loved part of you. You aren't to blame. Yurimé has sent you here so that you may learn the truth. Come with us Esmé.”

Esmé followed her mother and father deeper down the halls. Her heart pounded as they led her deeper but she wouldn't turn back now. She was determined to learn the truth so that she could avenge her family. Soon enough, they stepped out of the darkness and into the light. There, Esmé saw herself when she was younger. She was standing by her mother's side training Kurama.

“That's us…as a family. I miss those days. They seem so far. Look how happy we were. What did we do to deserve to have this taken away from us?”

“Watch Esmé.”

Esmé watched as her younger self watched her mother and father chat. As they were walking inside, a guard came to them reporting that there was a brigade of wolves heading towards the castle. “Celia, take Esmé to her room, don't let her out of your sight. I'll have Yurimé and Eiji protect the women and children.” Shinosuke said. “But will she be able to? She is with child, your niece or nephew. You can't expect her to be able to help Eiji. Kurama, you will help Eiji. You're strong enough now. Send her to me, quickly.”

Kurama left Celia's side in search of Yurimé while Shinosuke followed the guard to the front and Celia took Esmé to her room. “Don't worry baby, you'll be all right.” Celia whispered. She carried Esmé upstairs to her room and locked the doors.

Outside, while Shinosuke led his band of youkos into battle against the wolves. However, one of them had slipped inside the castle. She headed for Esmé's room and found her and Celia sitting on the bed together. “Who are you?”

“You don't have to know. You'll be in your grave soon enough. Die Celia!!!”

The wolf darted for Celia but Esmé shoved her mother aside and took the assault. When the wolf noticed she had attacked the young girl, she growled and prepared to slash her throat but Celia caught her hand and pulled her hair. “You witch!”

“You won't harm my daughter!”

The wolf turned around and back handed Celia across the face. “Fucking slut, keep your hands off me.” She told her. She then turned to Esmé, picked her up and fled out the window. Celia ran to the window and watched as the wolf escaped with her daughter. Though she wasn't a fighter like her husband and his pupil, she went into pursuit of the wolf. When she found her, she was entering the wolf's fortress. It would be dangerous but she'd give her life for her daughter. With courage in her heart, Celia entered the fortress in search of her captive daughter. “Esmé!”

“You!?!? How did you get here?”

“Nevermind that! Return my child to me. She's done nothing wrong to you. It's Shinosuke and I that you want, give her back to us!”

The wolf walked towards Celia but stopped several feet away from her. “You are right queen of youkos. You are a far bigger prize than your worthless daughter. But I have a better idea.” She said. Before Celia could defend herself, the wolf dug her claws deep into Celia's stomach. Celia tried to pry them from her stomach but the wolf dug deeper. “Remember my name Celia. Zira, princess of wolves. Soon to be princess of foxes. Once we've taken out your pitiful husband…”

“Zira! Enough games.”

Conya ripped her claws from Celia's stomach and watched as she fell to the ground then turned to her brother. “Don't worry about it bro, we've planned everything out perfectly. Once we do away with Shinosuke and this runt, we'll be straight to go.” She said easily. She walked over to Esmé and picked her up, smiling deviously to the child. “Now, to join your mother…”

“Rose whip!”

Kurama's rose whip slashed across Zira's face and she dropped Esmé. “You brat! How dare you touch my face!” Zira screamed. Kurama ran to Esmé and helped her away while Shinosuke ran to Celia's corpse. As he mourned over her, another wolf walked from the shadows. “It's sad that you had to lose your wife in such a terrible manner. Rest assure you will all be together in the after life.” He said. Shinosuke looked up at the black haired youko with fire in his eyes. “You planned this from the very beginning. You and your sister plotted against us! You took advantage of my sister!”

The male wolf ran a hand through his long black hair and grinned at Shinosuke. “Your sister is very pretty, easy to win over and easy to taint. Now, she's baring a half breed child. I guess that makes us brothers in a way.” He teased. Shinosuke grabbed the male wolf by the throat and slammed him up against the wall. “Fucker! I'll see to it that you burn in the hell for what you've done!”

“Master look out!”

When Shinosuke looked up from his opponent, he received a cut across his heart. It was Celia's corpse which was controlled by the male wolf that had cut him. “Celia…you used my wife's body to kill me…I won't let you escape with this treachery.” Shinosuke promised. His eyes were ignited in flames and a black flame danced in his hand. The male wolf frowned at Shinosuke then chuckled. “This is a joke. Go ahead and try your best Shinosuke.” He said.

“You've sealed your own fate.”

He raised his right hand and the flame grew in size. It grew and grew until it took the shape of a fox. The wolf gasped at the wolf and looked toward Zira, who was unconscious from Kurama's assault. “Shinosuke!”

“Yurimé!”

Yurimé looked at her brother then to the male wolf. “Aiden…”

“Yurimé! You love me! You're carrying my child! Help me!”

Yurimé shook her head fearfully at Aiden then ran to her brother's side just in case he tried to harm her. “Fox of the blue flame!”

“Yurimé!!!”

Yurimé's attack fused with Shinosuke's and together, they hurled it at Aiden. It was a direct hit that blasted him through the walls of the fortress. As he disappeared, he screamed: “Yurimé! My son is growing inside you! When he's born, he'll finish what I started! I promise you I'll have my revenge.”

That night, all the youkos in the clan attended Celia's funeral, paying respects. Esmé watched the past with teary eyes. Conya had killed her mother, poisoned her father and attempted to finish what she and her brother had started. By changing hers and Haku's appearances, she sought to take revenge on Esmé.

“Why didn't anyone ever tell me? Why didn't anyone say anything? Were you waiting until I was old enough?”

“Yes. Now you're old and mature enough to know the truth. Conya may have the title but you have the spirit of a queen. Take it and your family's love with you into battle. We love you very much Esmé, we know you will make us proud.”

Esmé hugged her mother and father and formed an embrace between. “Mama, papa, even though…you're won't be here you'll be able to see. I'll govern over your clan just as fair as you did. Me...and Kurama. Together…I'm going to marry him so that he and I can rule together as one. I love him. Please watch over me from heaven. I love you both…I love you mama and papa.”

“Esmé…”

Esmé looked up at Kurama for she was in his arms now. Somehow she had been transported out of the dark pathway and into his arms. She nestled against him, letting her tears fall onto his shoulder. “Esmé…”

“If you heard what I said I meant it. I meant every word I said. I want to marry you Kurama. For the sake of my family and our clan. Also, because I love you. Kurama, once we when this battle and heal our wounds, I want you to propose to me. Everyone, we're going into battle. This shall be our last battle against Conya. May the power of our ancestors guide us to victory…”

Esmé walked past her friends then singly, they followed her out of the temple towards the villains that had sought to destroy to the royal family. Neither of them feared defeated for they all positively believed they could achieve victory.
