Disclaimer: Nope all I own r yyh dvds.
Summary: ^_^ hey everybody! I'm back! Wow, its only chapter 6 (7th if your reading from Mediaminer.org). it seems like it should be chapter 12 or something, it takes me so long to write these chapters. Well, did everyone like the last chapter? I hope so, cus this chapter is gonna be a lot like the last one, only hopefully longer. Ok in this chapter of The Violinist and the Prince: Kurama and Hiei spend a day at the park, and Hiei reveals a secret of his (if you think he's gonna prove to Kurama that he's a demon, then your wrong . sorry, I'm saving that for later ^_~) and Kurama tells Hiei about some troubling dreams he's been having.
::Thoughts::
//dreams//
//He was running side by side through a bamboo forest in the dead of night with his lover. Stopping, he smirked at him as he flashed the mirror he held in his hand. ::hn that was far too easy:: They set off again. His silver hair swirled behind him as they ran. Suddenly his love stopped. His red pendant's chain had snapped, hurling his treasured gift into the shadows. His lover ran after it.
"Don't! Kuronue!"
"I need it!"
::It's only the pendant I gave him when we first met. I can get him another. :: he thought bitterly to himself. His bitter thoughts were interrupted at the sound of flying objects. His golden eyes widened in horror as he heard his lover gasp at the sudden pain, and there was a blinding flash. In the light of the flash he saw that his worst nightmare had come true. There, in the center of a grove, stood his lover, speared through by multiple bamboo weapons.
"Kuronue!"
"Forget about me Kurama! Go! Ruuunnn!"
With one last saddened look behind his shoulder he ran, golden eyes brimming with tears. He nearly choked and fell weeping when he heard an agonized scream in the distance. He reached a clearing where he sat on a large white boulder that lay in juxtaposition with a cool stream, and above him a weeping willow tree. He bent his head and began to weep, just as the willow tree wept. A cloud over head moved and reveled a full moon.
"Why? Why did you have to be killed? It was only a pendant. I love you, and now your gone, and it's all my fault because I couldn't save you!" he cried to no one.
Unknown to him there was a demon hunter lurking in the shadows. ::the perfect opportunity. The legendary Yoko Kurama has let his guard down over some lost love. As if he was ever in love. Bah, what a joke.:: The hunter stepped on a twig to see if he was aware of anything in his grief, but he just continued weeping. The hunter took up his gun, aimed it at him, then pulled the trigger.
BANG
He looked up just in time to see the sillouette of the hunter in the shadows before the searing pain hit him. He felt cold suddenly, yet he was not afraid. ::Kuronue, I'm coming:: With that final thought he closed his eyes, and a look of peace overtook his features. He felt himself rise from his body, and saw his lover. But instead of looking pleased, Kuronue looked angry.
"Kurama what are you doing? You let yourself be killed that easily?? After I sacrificed myself so that you alone could live? You disgust me." He began to fade away.
"Kuronue! Matte!" he shouted at the fading figure. `after I sacrificed myself so that you alone could live?' his lovers voice still haunted him. ::I know what I must do:: With his mind made up, he made his way towards Ningenkai, but he looked down once to see the hunter putting his lifeless body in a black bag, and sprouting from his spilled blood atop the white boulder, a single rose.//
Kurama sat up gasping (a/n: this is shuichi by the way, not yoko sorry if this is a little confusing) ::What on earth was that?:: he wondered to himself. He felt something warm next to him. Looking to his left he saw the small body of his lover. He smiled, lay back down, and nestled his face into Hiei's hair, breathing in the fresh pine scent. Hiei's eyes opened lazily when he felt Kurama's arms wrapped around his waist. Smiling contentedly, he rolled over and gazed at the red head. They moved their faces closer and closer, and were just about to kiss when there was a knock on the door. Quickly moving apart, Hiei quickly hopped out of bed, pulling a blanket and pillow with him, and made it look as though he had been sleeping on the ground for the night, and pretended to still be asleep. Kurama got out of bed slowly, and unlocked the door.
"Good morning Kaasan. Did you sleep well?"
"Yes I did. I'm assuming you were staying up late last night, because it is already 12."
"It's that late already? I'm sorry, Hiei and I were talking last night."
"Yes that's why I woke you up. I went into the guest room and Hiei's not there! Could he have left already?"
Kurama laughed. "No Kaasan, he's right here. He fell asleep while we were talking, so I just made up a little bed for him on the floor."
"Oh! Well, that's fine. Anway, I've made breakfast today, so if you want to wake him up you two can have some pancakes."
"Mother, you didn't need to make us breakfast!"
"Yes I did. I was hungry, and the mix makes ten pancakes. I obviously cant eat ten pancakes on my own!" she said chuckling.
"But you could have just woken me up earlier."
"Nonsense, you're on vacation! You need to get your sleep! And it's not like I waited to make breakfast either. Your pancakes were cold an hour ago. Now hurry up before they're ice cubes!" she said while closing the door.
Kurama turned to see that Hiei was sitting upright now. "What are pancakes?" he asked.
"It's a type of food that you have for breakfast. They're supposed to be warm, but apparently we slept in very late, and they're now very cold." He changed the subject. "What would you like to do today?"
"Anything you want to, as long as we're alone. I don't want to have to share your presence with your friends."
Kurama laughed. "Very well then, how about we spend the day in the park just talking?"
"That sounds good to me."
"Good, then lets have some breakfast and get out of the house as fast as possible. Half the day is gone already!"
Five minutes later they were down in the kitchen eating their pancakes frantically, and fifteen minutes after that they were walking together in a nearby park. They walked in silence for a few moments as Kurama lead Hiei away from the main trail, and into a secluded area where they could talk without fear of being intruded upon. After another minute they came upon the trunk of a fallen oak tree underneath the branches of a tall redwood.
Sitting down, Kurama explained to Hiei. "I come here when I wish to be alone. There's just something about this place, being completely surrounded by nature, with no one to bother you, that is so calming. I have never taken anyone here before, not even my mother."
Hiei blushed. "Why are you taking me here then?"
Kurama shrugged. "I guess I was just waiting for someone special that I cared for to come into my life."
Hiei's blush deepened. They sat in silence for a few more moments before Kurama spoke again. "I know I have asked you this already, but why were you really sitting in the lemon tree outside my room? I know that you said it was because you had never heard such beautiful music, but why were you so fascinated by it?"
Hiei looked down. "I've never told anyone else besides my twin sister this before. I have a passion for music, and I play a little violin myself. Though I do not play nearly was well as you do," he added.
Kurama looked shocked. "I had no idea you were a musician as well! Oh, we really must play together sometime! It would be so much fun!"
Hiei blushed again. "I would like that very much. We will have to do that tomorrow."
After this their conversation shifted, Kurama talking about his friends and their lives, and Hiei mostly listening, though he talked a little of his twin sister. After a few hours Kurama looked at his wristwatch and cried out.
"What is it?"
"It's already five! We should be getting back soon or Kaasan will be worried."
"Ok. What will we be having for dinner tonight?"
"I was thinking pizza. I'm much too tired to cook anything tonight, from all that action last night. (a/n: ^_~ im a hentai and proud of it)"
"What's pizza?"
"Its kind of hard to explain. You'll see later."
"Ok."
With that they started walking back, and thirty minutes later they arrived back at Kurama's home. Shiori walked down the stairwell. "Well, you boys were gone a long time. Did you have fun?"
Hiei answered. "Yes, we spent the day at the park. It was very relaxing."
Shiori smiled. "I'm glad to hear it. Well, I'm off, I'll see you two tomorrow morning."
"You're not going to work already Kaasan? You're still recovering from your illness!" Kurama protested.
"Nonsense Shuichi. It's not as if I'm doing anything physically exerting. And besides, if I don't go to work soon we won't have enough money." Before Kurama could protest Shiori raised her hand to silence him. "And I don't want to hear another word about you getting a job. You don't have enough time on your hands for one. I'm going to work and that's final. I'll see you two in the morning. Ja!" With that said she marched out the door and shut it behind her.
Kurama grinned. "Good she bought my act."
Hiei looked at him in confusion. "What act?"
"I want to have the night alone with you Hiei, and since my mother is away at work we can do whatever we want." He added with a wink.
Hiei blushed. "Lets start with having some food. I'm starving!"
Kurama went into the living room to find the phone and opened the phone book that lay next to it. After a moment of flipping through its many pages he stopped at one, then dialed the number. "Yes, I would like one medium pepperoni pizza please. Yes, please deliver it. My address is 67 Brook Lane (a/n: I made that address up, I don't know a Brook lane, so if by some coincidence that is your address I swear it's just a coincidence) Yes, that will be all. Thank you, goodbye."
He sat on the couch in front of the television, and beckoned with his hands for Hiei to join him. Once the shorter boy sat down he wrapped his arms around him and pulled him so that he was leaning against his chest. Twenty minutes later the doorbell rang, and Kurama stood to get the pizza and pay the delivery boy, a tall brown haired boy with a good tan. Carrying in the cardboard box, he sat back down on the couch and he and Hiei ate the pizza. Actually, Hiei at three quarters of the pizza, as he thought it was almost as good as ice cream. After the pizza was gone, the box empty, they continued to snuggle on the couch for another hour. After an hour had gone by Hiei yawned.
"This is boring. You wanna turn off the TV and hang out in your room?"
Kurama got the subtle hint from his lover. "Yes, that seems like a much better thing to do, considering we have the house to ourselves tonight." (a/n: ooooo ^_~ ok now more a/n)
With that they went up to Kurama's room and made themselves busy for a few more hours, until they fell asleep in each others arms. (a/n: haha suckers you really thought I'd write a lemon scene didn't you? Oops I said no more a/n. hehehe my bad lo siento)
It was two in the morning when Hiei heard a startled gasp and felt his lover sit up in bed. Blinking, he reached over and turned on the lamp next to the bed. He rolled over to see Kurama sitting straight up in bed, covered in sweat, just as he had looked when they were making love.
"Kurama, what's wrong?"
Kurama turned to him. "Gomen, Hiei, I did not mean to wake you. I was only having a dream."
"Tell me about it. It will make you feel better."
"It's rather ridiculous you see. I am Yoko Kurama, and I'm running in a bamboo forest away from a group of guards with my partner after stealing a mirror. My partner, who's name is Kuronue, is wearing a red pendant, which I believe I gave him, and its chain breaks and it flies into the shadows. Kuronue runs after it, even when I tell him not too. Suddenly there is a gasp of pain, and a blinding flash, where I see that he has been speared by many bamboo branches. He tells me to run away and forget about him, so I do, but I'm crying because I am in love with him. I run to a white boulder beside a stream and under a weeping willow, where I start to cry. Then, because I am so caught up in my grief, I am shot by a hunter, and my soul departs from my body, and in the sky I see Kuronue's soul. But instead of being pleased to see me he is angry that I had died after he sacrificed himself so that I could live. And I decide something, and I fly off to Ningenkai, and while I'm flying here I see a single rose sprouting from the blood I spilled atop that white boulder."
Hiei pondered this. ::Kuronue, yes that was the name of Yoko's thieving partner.:: "By any chance did Kuronue have bat wings?"
Kurama looked shocked. "Yes, he did. How did you know that?"
"He was a real demon, Yoko Kurama's partner in crime." ::Could it possibly be….no. Kurama is not Yoko. He is much too kind and gentle to be Yoko. Also he does not show any signs of power. If I were to read his mind then maybe I'd be able to see….no. I will not reveal my Jagan unless it is absolutely necessary.::
Kurama looked at his lover. "What could it mean?"
"I'm not sure. Let us go back to sleep, and we will think about it more in the morning," Hiei lied convincingly.
"Ok. Goodnight Hiei. Ai shiteru."
"Ai shiteru, Kurama."
With those final words they once again fell asleep in each others arms.
