Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ The Violinist and the Prince ❯ The Battle Begins ( Chapter 10 )
Disclaimer: I own nada. Except I do own a few yyh dvds. ^_^
Summary: OMG ITS BEEN OVER A MONTH SINCE I UPDATED!!!! *gets on hands and knees * please please please forgive me!!! I got stuck on this fic!!!!! I got writers block for this fic! I was able to write other stories though, and I haven't really figured out why. AND I HAD FINALS AND SCHOOL AND STUFF!!! ^_^;;;; my excuses are kinda sad. Oh yeah, before I forget, I broke my rule to myself that I won't write lemons, and I wrote a lemon for this chapter. If you r a hentai like me, then you can view it at Mediaminer.org, under the same pen name and story title. ^_^ see? This time I sort of have an excuse for not updating fast. ^_^ well, I hope you all like this new twist in the chapter. To quote shira, "It sounds like lord of the rings" which is right, cus I wrote the last chapter right after seeing the third lotr, which I might add is a kickass movie. The story's gonna be like that pretty much the whole time there are battles, just to warn you. Ok enough of my pointless yapping. On with the fic!
Afterthought: *warning * This chapter has a LOT of swearing and a ton of bloody fight scenes that may be too graphic for some people. This chapter itself is probably suitable for an R rating just for the blood, so if that makes you squimish then please don't read this.
::Thoughts::
*Ningenkai *
At about 4 in the afternoon Kurama walked in from the gardens at Genkai's temple, so exhausted that all he wanted to do was collapse on the spot. ::who could have guessed that manipulating plants could cause such exhaustion:: he thought to himself as he threw himself onto a purple couch that he found in one of the temple rooms. He softly closed his grass-green eyes, and fell asleep right there on the couch.
An hour later he abruptly woke up, but not from another nightmare. No, he was woken by the sound of the loud voices of Kuwabara and Yusuke bickering about something again. Groggily, he sat up, and tried to concentrate on what they were saying. "I am SO better than you Urameshi! I can make a SWORD!"
"Uh huh sure ya are. Except for the fact that I BEAT YOU EVERY TIME WE FIGHT! And guns are way cooler than stinky swords."
"HELL NO THEY AREN'T!!!! AND THAT WAS A LOUSY SHOT!"
"How was it lousy? You were looking right at me and guarding yourself and everything."
"WHAT?!?! YOU WANNA PIECE OF ME URAMESHI?!!?!?!"
"SHUT UP BOTH OF YOU! YOU'RE BICKERING IS GIVING ME A HEADACHE!" yelled Genkai from behind them.
Kurama grinned to himself. ::Genkai may be old, but she sure doesn't act like it. I wonder what her secret is:: he thought to himself as he got off the couch and stood in front of everyone. "Hello, I assume that your training was productive?"
Genkai snorted. "Did you have to ask that Kurama?"
Yusuke started jabbering quickly. "Yeah! I kicked Kuwabara's ass so many times! And the old hag showed me how to make a Reigan! It's the coolest thing I've ever seen! I bet I can beat whatever demon we're going up against in five seconds flat!"
Kuwabara piped up. "Yeah right! The only one beating demon butt in five seconds is me! I was able to make a Reiken! A reiken! Can you believe it?!?! I can make a sword out of thin air just by thinking about it! And Urameshi only beat me cus he threw cheap shots at me."
"I so did not! You know as well as I do that I beat you fair and square. I'm just better than you."
"Ok ok you two. Stop right there, I can tell where this is going. It sounds like you are both a lot tougher than I would have guessed. Genkai, when should we leave for Makai?"
Genkai snorted again. "If I had a say in this I'd say not for a few more monthes. These two delinquents are about as strong as a pair of twigs. Any decent demon fighter could beat them with his pinky finger. But I suppose by the end of the week."
Yusuke's mouth opened in protest. "What are you talking about Grandma?!?! We're really strong now! And it's not like I haven't been training in your evil Grandma bootcamp for the past, what, year?!"
Genkai glared at the black haired boy. "It doesn't matter how long you've trained under me if these demons are strong enough to attack a demon kingdom. They will probably have a large number of demon followers who will fight the main battles, and their leader or leaders will probably be very strong fighters, at least low class A's if not S classes. And if the demon is an S class you will be dead before you can blink."
Kurama shuddered. "Let's not talk about this now. I think we should have some dinner now. The training has probably made everyone hungry. I know I am."
"Yeah I'm starved! What grub do you have here?" Kuwabara asked.
"Just go into the kitchen and find whatever you want. But you'd better not eat all of my food!" Genkai yelled after them as they made their way into the kitchen listening to their conversation.
"Hey Kurama, what do you think is cooler? A gun or a sword?"
"Say a sword! They're so beautiful!"
"Hell no! Guns are SO much cooler! Say a gun!"
Genkai sighed. ::Those boys have no idea what they have gotten themselves into.::
*Makai *
Hiei stood at the very front of his army with the Atsuya, staring at the hoard of enemy demons that had gathered about two hundred yards away. Most had sickly green skin and black armor, complete with spiked helmets atop their ugly heads. Tetsumi tapped him on the shoulder. "Hiei-sama."
"Hai?"
"Daichi and Fusashi have returned from their air scouting. They count about thirteen thousand troops."
Hiei's heart sank. "So the messenger had incorrect information."
"Hai Hiei-sama. Gomen nasai."
Hiei looked at her. "It is not your fault that our information was wrong." He changed the subject. "Are the divisions in place?"
"Hai. Namika, Ryouji, and Narushi's division is at this moment attempting to creep up onto the right side of the enemy's ranks, and once they land, Daichi and Fusashi's division will advance on the left side. Then once they are in place, Junna, Junji and Motokazu will attack head on with their division."
"And once the enemy breaks through their lines we will be in place here to defend the castle."
Tetsumi looked down. "Hai Hiei-sama."
Atsuya spoke for the first time. "What are the chances of us emerging from this fight victorious?"
"Very low I'm afraid. Atsuya, I have a favor to ask from you and Tetsumi. If I fall, please get my sister out of here and take her somewhere safe. She deserves to live."
Atsuya and Tetsumi bowed their heads. "Hai. We will evacuate your sister if you fall. But only if you fall!"
The loud sound of a horn could be heard echoing in the wind, causing everyone to look to the enemy. Tetsumi spoke quickly. "That was Daichi's horn! They are in place!"
Hiei sighed and put his hand onto the hilt of his katana. "Then it begins. The beginning of the end."
It took over an hour, but the enemy's forces finally broke through Junna, Junji, and Motokazu's division, and charged toward the prince. Hiei quickly drew his katana, and with one easy swing decapitated the first demon. Though his full concentration was on the battle, he couldn't help but think of his lover, who was probably safe at his ningen home fast asleep in his bed. ::Kurama. I miss you:: he thought as he dodged a sweeping swing from a large axe, and swung his own weapon to severe the demon of his arm and then plunged the sword directly into his throat.
Hiei lost track of time as he continued to steal the lives away from his attackers. After a while, a familiar red winged demon flew down and fought alongside Hiei. "Daichi! What are you doing here?"
"I have a casualty report for you, Hiei-sama. Narushi is dead, along with half of his division. Ryouji and Namika are still alive, but they are severely outnumbered. My division has lost about a thousand souls, but we are still hanging on. The front division is also losing many but we still fight."
Hiei thought about this as he stuck his sword into another demon's gut. "Thank you Daichi. Is there anything else?"
"Hai Hiei-sama. There seems to be a strange disturbance with the barrier between Makai and Ningenkai. But I do not see why that should affect the battle."
::Ningenkai. Kurama!:: "Can you tell where the tear is being made?"
"We are not certain, but we believe it is occurring somewhere outside Tokyo, Japan."
Hiei's eyes widened. ::Tokyo. That's where Kurama lives.:: "Daichi, find this tear and assist whoever is making it. If it is a ningen male with long red hair and green eyes please bring him to me so I can talk some sense into him." ::Damn Kurama it had better not be you! I told you to stay put! I would never forgive myself if you died again!::
*Ningenkai *
Kurama's eyes widened as he looked up from his bowl of rice. Yusuke and Kuwabara looked at him with confused expressions plastered over their faces. "What's up Kurama?"
Kurama looked to his two friends. "I think we should ask Genkai to open the portal now."
"What's the rush? She said we should probably wait until the end of the week."
Kurama shook his head at Yusuke. "No we need to go now. Something is wrong."
"How can you be sure?"
"I don't know. It's just a feeling I have."
::What I didn't tell them was that I heard Hiei's voice in my head telling me he missed me. If I did they'd probably think I was crazy:: he thought to himself as they walked quickly through the dojo to find the elderly woman. They found her in a small room meditating. Kurama softly tapped her on the shoulder. "Genkai-sama?"
Her eyes flew open. "What is it?"
"We need to go to Makai now."
Genkai looked at his face for a moment, then nodded. "I see. You two have a psychic connection. Hiei doesn't know about it though does he?"
Kurama blushed. "I don't think so, considering I didn't know of it until two minutes ago."
Kuwabara and Yusuke looked confused. "Psychic connection? What's that?"
Genkai waved her hand at them without looking at their faces. "Kurama will tell you later. Now hurry all of you, we need to do this quickly so we don't attract unwanted attention."
They rushed outside, and stood in her courtyard, where Genkai began to glow yellow as she put her hands in front of her. Kuwabara whispered to Kurama. "What's she doing?"
"She is creating a tear in the barrier between our world and Makai. I've done this before, and it can take a substantial amount of time to create."
Yusuke grimaced. "Time which we probably don't have!"
Kurama looked at Yusuke. "We must not interfere with Genkai, even in an attempt to assist her. It could distract her, and that could prove fatal for everyone because she could create a black hole. Now please be quiet so we don't distract her." The two boys immediately shut up.
An hour or two went by and there was no significant difference, except for a very small black spot in the middle of the air. Suddenly the hole grew ten times, big enough to fit a large human. Genkai's eyes widened in shock, and she assumed a fighting stance. The three teenage boys behind her stood up quickly and copied her example. A tall boy with yellow eyes and hair the color of fire and wings to match stepped out of the hole.
Before anyone could launch an attack the demon spoke. "Who are you and why are you creating a tear in the barrier?"
Kurama stepped forward. "My name is Kurama, and I have asked my friend's master Genkai-sama to create one so we can assist a very close friend of mine in a battle in the Makai. Who are you?"
The boy smirked. "So, you're the one. Figures. Even Hiei-sama thought it might be you. And don't tell me you're close friends with him, a blind goat could tell how Hiei feels for you. I just hope for your sake you share his feelings. Anyway, I'm Daichi, a member of the Yami Masurao, and I was sent by Hiei-sama to bring you to him. But the way will be very different, considering the battle for our home has been going on for the past few hours."
Kurama's eyes widened. "Few hours?! You mean it's already started!"
"Of course. Akiyoshi was never one to take his sweet time when he wants revenge, or so I've heard. He and his puppet Masayoshi are rumored to be the most vicious demon rulers in all of Makai, and are very strong. Now we must hurry. The coast on the other side is clear so far, and Namika, Ryouji, and Fusashi are guarding the tear right now. Come on!"
Kurama looked to his friends, who nodded. Yusuke grinned cheekily. "Lets go kick some demon ass!"
Genkai watched as the three boys followed the phoenix demon into the portal, which almost immediately closed. ::I hope that dimwit and his friends live to come back:: she thought sadly to herself.
*Makai*
Daichi greeted the other three demons, and introduced him to the three humans as they ran through the forest. Suddenly they found themselves surrounded by about two dozen demons from Akiyoshi's forces. Daichi opened his mouth and blew out a huge blast of red hot flame, frying five of the demons in front of them. Daichi, Fusashi, and the humans ran through the opening, while Namika and Ryouji fought the demons and prevented them from following. But before they too could escape, more demons came and closed the gap. The remaining four looked back, and Daichi called out their names. Ryouji called from the mass of demons that attacked them. "Go on! Bring Hiei-sama his friends! Go! We'll be fine!"
Suddenly another gigantic demon, probably around fifteen feet tall, lumbered out of the forest and grabbed Fusashi by his wings. "Fusashi!!!!" Daichi cried out again.
Fusashi grinned sadly at Daichi. "Go Daichi. You're the only one left who can get these three to Hiei-sama. Go! Now!"
Diachi cried out when he saw the troll-like demon put his large hand around Fusashi's head and crush his skull as though it was an egg. Turning to the humans with tears in his eyes, he beckoned to them to follow him.
Shortly after the four had left a spear was thrust through Ryouji's chest, and another stabbed Namika through the back. Blood was coughed out of Ryouji's mouth as he pulled the spear from him and his demon lover and they continued to fight as the others continued without them. The remaining demons fell to the duo's claws, and once all were dead around them, Namika and Ryouji fell to the ground and crawled into each others arms, and with one last passion filled kiss, died in each others arms.
*elsewhere on the battlefield *
Junji, using his youkai to send a blast of knife sharp air to send the nearest group of demons fly through the air into the spears of their comrades, laughed cheerfully and looked to Motokazu. "Oi Moto! Bet ya can't beat that!" he said grinning widely from cheek to cheek.
Motokazu grinned back. "Bet I can!" he said while he blew a handful of ice from his hand causing the ice to form small darts, which were blown into a large group nearby demons. "I win!"
Junji raised his arms in mock-defeat. "Oh, all hail the almighty Motokazu! He's just too powerful for little old me."
Junna rolled her eyes as she sent another group of demons flying in the same fashion as her brother. "Please you two. Can you ever be serious for once? If you haven't noticed, we're kind of in the middle of battle."
Junji grinned cheekily. "Aww sis you're too serious. Can't we have some fun?"
Motokazu's cheerful grin suddenly vanished as his eyes widened in fear. Junji looked at his best friend. "What's up Moto? Too afraid of me beating you?" his eyes followed Motokazu's and he clenched his fists. The enemy soldiers parted to form a pathway for the sinister figure that approached the trio. His yellow eyes narrowed as he smiled maliciously at his opponents. "At last. Three worthy opponents from the Yami Masarao. The two wind demon siblings Junji and Junna, and the legendary master of ice Motokazu. This should be fun indeed," the figure hissed at them, his forked tongue flicking with every word.
Motokazu's eyes narrowed into a glare. "Masayoshi. Hell scum! You will die here and now! SHINI!!!!!" he yelled while charging at the snake demon, brandishing an ice sword.
Masayoshi chuckled. "Poor poor icicle. To die so young. It's a shame really. You would have made a nice sex slave for me. But fate is fate and no one can escape it. And I'm afraid the only one dying now will be you and your little friends." With that his tail, which had been concealed carefully behind him, lunged out from behind him and imbedded itself into Motokazu's chest cavity. His laughing grew louder when Junji and Junna ran to the body of their dead friend.
Junji stood up, suppressing the tears that threatened to spill from his blue eyes. "You MONSTER! I'll kill you for what you did to my friend!" With that he also charged, wind whipping dangerously around him, cutting many demons around him to pieces. Junna cried after him "No Junji! He'll kill you!"
Masayoshi laughed even more. "You should have listened to your sister Junji, she is wiser than she looks. Now you will meet your friend in Hell!" After this statement the tail which was covered in Motokazu's blood ran around the wind demon's torso and chest, and with one quick squeeze crushed Junji to death. Junna cried out and broke down into sobs as she watched her older brother's lifeless body fall to the ground in front of the snake. She muttered softly as her tears fell to the ground. "First Motokazu….now my older brother. You are not worthy of hell!" she screamed as the wind around her turned into a tornado, sweeping all around her into the air, where they were promptly ripped to shreds. As Masayoshi felt his feet leave the ground he cried out "NO!! HOW COULD THIS BE?! I'M INVINCIBLE!!!!" before his head was ripped from his neck and shoulders.
*outside Hiei's castle *
Hiei and Atsuya's eyes widened in shock as the lifeless body of Tetsumi fell at their feet, her sea blue eyes closed. Looking up, her murderer stood with his arms folded laughing evilly. "That little bitch actually thought that she could beat me." His eyes met Hiei's. "Well well well. Jaganshi Hiei. It's been a long time little prince. Are you still as much of a using bastard now as you were a year ago?"
Atsuya's fists clenched. "Akiyoshi. The only bastard here is you! You will pay for what you did to my sister!"
Hiei put his small hand on Atsuya's arm. "No Atsuya. You will only die as well. Go and get my sister out of here, and then order a full retreat of the troops. This battle is mine and mine alone." He turned to the lightening demon. "Akiyoshi. Why are you doing this?"
He snickered menacingly. "Because my beloved flame, I will not stand to be rejected by anyone, and especially from a lower class prince such as you. Tell me, is it true that you chose a ningen pretty boy as your lover?"
Hiei snarled at him. "Kurama is no normal ningen, and you will be respectful of my chosen mate."
Akiyoshi frowned. "Why did you choose this…Kurama instead of me? What does he have that I don't?"
"For one thing, he doesn't go around killing thousands of demons just because he was rejected. Another, he is your superior in just about every aspect."
"You should be careful Hiei. You wouldn't want to make me lose my temper. But I think our loving reunion has been long enough. Now prepare to die Hiei!"
Darkdemonchild: Teehheeehehehehehe I think this is a good place to stop considering this chapter is already over a thousand words longer than the last one I think. *checks last chapter * yup this one's way longer. Whaaaa I'm so sad. I killed my three of my favorite oc's! Tetsumi, Motokazu, and Fusashi. Why did I have to do that?!!?!?!
Kuri: *slaps head * Because it makes the plot better, baka!
