Summary: Ok enough craziness. I'M UPDATING AGAIN! It's a miracle. I tell you, I just have the weirdest times to have urges to write. I mean, I was in the shower with a kickass song that I was listening to with my mom in the car today coming home from my violin lesson (Speaking of which I need to practice that thing sometimes tomorrow or my teacher's gonna get hella pissed at me ^_^;;;) stuck in my head, when I suddenly think "Oh, I finished all my homework already, I'm gonna be a procrastinator and wait until tomorrow to do the history study guide, so I'll update one of my serious fics!" and then I asked Kristen which one and she said this one cus she loves it. ^_^ so you readers owe Kris. ^_^ and with no further ado, and with no further interruptions (I just had a cat fight with a bratty 8th grader I know tehehehe that was so much fun she's such a wuss) on with the fic!!!!

::Thoughts::

//Memories//

Hiei assumed a defensive battle stance in front of the body of his second in command and her brother. ::Tetsumi. You died to protect me. Now I shall avenge your sacrifice, as Atsuya can not, or die trying:: He turned to Atsuya, who was glaring at Akiyoshi as tears fell down his face while he cradled the lifeless body of his sister. Pity and sorrow shone in his eyes. "Atsuya. Go."

"Demo….."

Hiei's eyes hardened. "No Atsuya. I need you to get my sister out of here. You and I both know that you don't stand a chance again Akiyoshi if Tetsumi was defeated by him."

Atsuya lowered his midnight blue eyes, which let loose another flood of clear tears that cascaded down onto the pale flesh of the girl that lay limp in his arms. "Hai Hiei-sama. But please. Don't get killed. Your sister will never forgive me," he said getting up without looking at the dark haired boy who stood in front of him.

Akiyoshi just stood there laughing during this whole scene. "Aw isn't that cute? Are you always this protective of your fighters, Hiei-SAMA," he said while mockingly exaggerating the `sama'. "Or is it that you had special feelings for these fighters? What, were the dynamic siblings good in bed together with you or something?"

Hiei turned back to his enemy, shaking with anger. "How DARE you say that! Tetsumi was like a daughter to me! Now she is dead and her brother probably hates me! I will kill you for what you did to my fighters!"

Akiyoshi laughed again. "Oh. They were your `children'. Forgive me for interrupting your grief, but you really should worry about yourself more than your so-called children, considering that I'm about to make you join one of them. Don't worry, your son will follow along with your sister, and once I find this beautiful mate of yours he will join you as well. Won't that be great Hiei? You can have your own little family in the flames of eternal Hell!"

Black flames erupted from Hiei's right arm. "You will not harm anymore of my loved ones, especially not Yukina or Kurama. I will die before I let that happen!"

Akiyoshi sneered at him. "Oh but you see you won't have a say so in this, because you will already be dead. But I thought I had already explained this to you. I thought you of all people would know that I hate to repeat myself. Repetition is just so irritating. Yet I find myself saying this to you again. You are going to die Jaganshi Hiei, and all of your miserable little loved ones will follow you! Now prepare to meet the darkness!" he yelled while forming a spear made of lightening in his right hand.

Hiei frantically tore at the bandages that were wrapped tightly around his arm when he saw that Akiyoshi was beginning his attack. Just before the flying spear that was aimed directly at his heart met its target the fire demon jumped high into the air, and abruptly plummeted towards the stone ground. During the plunge he gave up on the bandages and pulled his shining katana out of its shield and, landing as graceful as a cat, lunged into his own attack against the lightening demon that he had once shared a bed with.

*the forest *

Daichi ran in front of the three ningens, trying desperately to keep his tears from falling. ::Fusashi. Why? Why did you have to die? You were the only one who really understood me, and my only friend. Why are you dead?! Why can't I be dead instead of you!:: he thought as his tears fell down his cheeks.

Kurama's eyes saddened as he watched the phoenix demon mourning the death of his friend. Running faster so that he was now side by side with the demon, he put his hand on his shoulder. "Do not worry. Your friend is in a better place now, free from all the hate and blood lust that is the essence of this world. I'm sure he will be waiting for you in Rekai once you meet your own inevitable end."

Daichi blinked his yellow eyes as he looked at the red head that ran next to him. "Arigouto. I'm sure you're right." He let a small laugh escape from his lips. "I can see why Hiei-sama loves you so much. You are a very kind, caring person."

Kurama allowed a small chuckle of his own. "Only if I like the person I'm talking to."

Yusuke and Kuwabara laughed from behind them. "Yeah I don't think you wanna get on Kurama's bad side. My head suffered the consequiences from that yesterday," Yusuke said.

Daichi looked back at them and smiled. "Well, I'll try not to antagonize you against me then." He looked around him then and noticed that the trees were beginning to thin. "We are almost there. I don't see why Hiei-sama wants you there, seeing as it is probably more dangerous with him then anywhere else, but who knows. His logic may be warped, but we always make it out of these sort of things ok."

Kurama lost his smile at the thought of his lover in danger. :: Hiei. Please be ok. I don't know what I would do if I lost you.::

Daichi looked back at the red head. "Don't worry. Hiei-sama's never lost a fight yet. And I don't think he's going to start now. Not now that he has two reasons to live."

Kuwabara and Yusuke laughed as a deep blush spread across Kurama's cheeks. "Awww how cute. Kurama and Hiei are in love. So Kurama spill the beans. What's he like in bed?"

Kuwabara hit Yusuke on the head. "Baka! You don't go around asking that!"

Yusuke held his head. "Ow! Of course you do!"

Kuwabara glared at him. "Not when you're talking to a fox demon!"

Daichi raised his eyebrow at Kurama. "Do they even know about the nature of fox demons?"

Kurama smirked. "Of course not, or they wouldn't be arguing about this. They'd find something else to bicker about though. It seems to be in their greatest hobby."

The group burst in through the trees to find themselves at the end of a long bloody field. Mangled and torn corpses lay strewn about carelessly on the ground. The cheery faces of the three humans and the demon quickly transformed into grim frowns as they tread slowly through in the direction of the stone fortress that was just above the next small land rise.

"Once we get over this hill we'll be able to see the entire castle. I just wonder why no one is fighting here. I hope they haven't defeated our offensive forces already," Daichi said worriedly.

Yusuke looked at him in surprise. "What do you mean `already'?!"

Daichi looked at him grimly. "Our troops are severely outnumbered by the enemy. We knew that they would eventually advance onto the defensive forces, that's why Hiei-sama positioned most of our troops there as well as himself and our two strongest warriors. But they should not have defeated the offensive forces this quickly."

The tiny sense of doom that had been dwelling in the pit of his stomach increased ten times at this thought. Kurama began to run the rest of the way up the hill. ::Please be ok Hiei. Please. I can't live without you.::

A moment later the rest of his group met him at the top, and followed his gaze to the gate of the stone tower, where two demons, one with blonde hair and a lightening spear in his hand and the other with seemingly electrocuted black hair with a katana in his own hand, fought in a fight to the death.

The group began to run quickly down the hill when they saw Hiei fall and not get up. But it was only when his enemy pulled him up by his hair and held him face to face with his own that Kurama began to run faster than he had ever run in either of his two lives.

*The top tower of the castle *

Pale blue tear gems began to fall as fast as raindrops in a typhoon from the teal haired girl's eyes. ::Oh brother. What have you gotten yourself into? So many have died. Narushi, Fusashi, Ryouji, Namika, Junji, Motokazu. All dead. Not to mention the other thousands of unknown soldiers on both sides. And now you are in a fight to the death with the master of lightening Akiyoshi. Oh Hiei. How will we make it out of this together? :: Yukina thought to herself and she sank to her knees weeping.

The door to her chamber was flung open. Yukina looked up to see Atsuya standing in the doorway. "Come Princess. We must flee while we still can."

"But my brother……"

"Your brother ordered it. He refuses to allow you to be hurt in this conflict. Onegai Yukina-san! We must go now!" he said pleadingly.

The ice maiden looked down. "Hai. Wakarimasu." She looked once more out the window to see her brother lunge once again towards the blonde demon and be once again flung off like an old rag doll. Her ruby eyes, so much like her brother's, filled with tears again. "Oh, Hiei. Atsuya. What is going to happen? Please tell me that he has at least a small chance!"

Atsuya's sea blue eyes became filled with sorrow as he remembered watching Akiyoshi murder his sister.

// Tetsumi looked up to see the enemy soldiers in front of her suddenly part to make a path while bowing. Realizing that only one person could generate this much respect and dignity as well as power, and quickly leapt in front of her lord.

The blonde demon laughed at this action. "Oh how sweet. So protective of your lord and master? Tell me little one, do you love him?"

Tetsumi snarled. "Bastard! Hiei-sama is the father I've never had! I will NOT let you harm him! I'll die before you can so much speak to him! NOW GO BACK TO HELL WHERE YOU CAME FROM!!!!" she yelled while charging forward, her energy forming a strong blast of water in the palm of her hand.

Akiyoshi only laughed his deadly, sinister laugh again. "Poor poor little girl. I pity you. I really do. You have fallen in love with the bastard prince that can love no one. I will make your death as painless as possible."

Just as the blast was about to leave Tetsumi's hand Akiyoshi formed a blast of his own, only this was made of electricity of the highest voltage, and before the girl had time to react the two attacks connected. Tetsumi only screamed once, but it was enough to cause everyone on the battle field to look in awe as her body was engulfed by the bright white light.

Atsuya and Hiei, who had been fighting nearby, ran towards her as she fell. Atsuya cradled her limp body crying out "Tetsumi! Tetsumi! Come on get up! Tetsumi! TETSUMI!!!" His eyes began to fill with tears. "Onegai. Wake up. Tetsumi. Just wake up."

Hiei's voice was filled with sorrow when he finally spoke. "Gomen nasai Atsuya. She's……."

Atsuya shook his head angrily, tears flying from his eyes. "IYE! She can't be dead! She's just badly hurt! She's too strong to be killed! And especially not by him!" he yelled while pointed at Akiyoshi, who was watching this whole scene laughing.

Hiei shook his own head slowly. "Atsuya. You must accept this. Tetsumi is dead. But now is not the time to mourn her. We must now focus on the revenge of her murder."

Atsuya looked down at the lifeless body of his sister that lay in his arms, and began to weep.//

Atsuya looked up at the ice maiden sadly. "I don't know. All I know is that he killed, no, murdered my sister. If he was strong enough to kill her that easily then he is most definitely very strong. But please, Yukina-san. We must leave now. We cannot waste any more time. We can't afford to be still in the castle should the worst happen."

Yukina nodded her head. "Hai. Let's go."

Atsuya turned to leave the room, and Yukina began to follow him. Turning to embed the picture of her room in her mind for all time, she saw four figures running hurriedly down the hill near the castle gate. The one that caught her attention though was the one who had long, flowing red hair fluttering behind him. The ice maiden gasped. "What is it Yukina-san?" Atsuya asked worriedly.

"No…..he didn't come here! Oh no! Quickly Atsuya! We must get to the castle gate NOW!" she yelled as she began to sprint down the hall as fast as her small legs could take her.

*The castle gate *

Hiei cried out as the lightening spear impacted with his right shoulder and sent a sharp jolt of electricity throughout his body.

Akiyoshi stood over him, grinning evilly. "Oh your cries of pain are music to my ears little prince. You have no idea how much pleasure this brings me. Even more so than our times in bed together. Though not by much. You should be honored little prince. You have quite a talent in bed. Too bad you aren't as good at fighting as you are at making love," he said while cackling.

Hiei's eyes narrowed in a deadly glare and he thrust upwards with all his might, embedding his katana into the lightening demon's side. Akiyoshi's grin quickly turned into a scowl. "Oh now you've done it. I was going to give you the option of coming back to me to be my personal slave, but now you've gone and injured me. Damn, this will leave a scar for sure! Now I have no choice but to kill you." He kicked out at the fire demon's head with his booted foot, sending Hiei flying through the air and landing with a thud onto his side several yards away.

Hiei's eyes fluttered open after the impact with the ground, and he coughed up a small amount of blood which landed onto the stones near his face. Suddenly he felt a strong hand pulling him up by the roots of his hair, and he found himself staring eye to eye with his old lover. Red irises met grey as Akiyoshi held the wounded fire demon to his face. "You know what. I'll always miss your eyes. They are one of a kind, with their shape and color. Your eyes are the most beautiful part of your entire face. Maybe I'll cut them out of your head after you're dead. Do you have any last words before I kill you?"

Sadness overcame the fire demon's features, and two black tear gems fell from his eyes. "Kur….ama….."

Akiyoshi's eyes hardened and he glared at the fire demon in his hand. "Oh? That's all you have to say? The name of your ningen whore?! Fine then, if that suits you. Time to become acquainted with Hell!" he yelled as he brought his lightening spear directly towards Hiei's heart.

Suddenly there was a sharp pain and numbness in Akiyoshi's stomach. Looking down, a green sword suddenly sprang from within his torso, ripping his shirt. Blood bubbled to his mouth and splurted out as he opened his mouth in surprise, landing onto Hiei's shirt. This sudden appendage caused the lightening demon's aim to falter, and the sword skimmed Hiei's right arm as the grip on his hair failed and he fell to his feet.

Hiei looked with glazed eyes at his savior as Akiyoshi stumbled past him clutching his stomach. A pair of brilliant green eyes and fiery red hair met his gaze. He smiled a little. "Kur….ama. You…..crazy fox….I told you…..not to come…." He fell forward into his lover's arms.

Akiyoshi glared at this new enemy. "So. This is the ningen whore of the brat prince. Hm. I can definitely see why he loves you so much. I bet you're great in bed."

Kurama snarled at him. "Shut up! I swear on the tomb of my dead lover Kuronue that I will kill you with my own hands, even if it costs me my life!"

Akiyoshi cackled. "I'd like to see you try. You wouldn't last two seconds in a fight against me! But that will be proven another day. Until your death day, whore," he said while disappearing into the neighboring trees.

Kurama hugged the small body in his hands. "Hiei…." He called softly to the fire demon.

Hiei didn't even stir.

The red head's eyes widened. "Hiei! Wake up!"

Nothing.

His green eyes filled with tears. "Please…wake up. I…..I can't bear to have another one of my lovers be killed because of me! So please. Just…..just wake up. Then we can go home."

The fire demon still remained limp in the fox's arms as his tears cascaded onto him.
