Chapter Four; Tonight and Always.
Once inside the safety of his room, and out from a certain fire apparition eyes, Kurama sighed as he dropped face first into his bed, he turned over, his emerald green eyes landed on the celling, he frowned, remembering everything that had happened today, from the morning to where Kyna and the other's dissapeared in the forest around Genkai's temple without any words.
From there, things had turned worse with each passing second, first, Genkai and Yusuke had gotten into a fight, Yusuke demanding to know why she didn't tell them she knew Kyna and her brother and Genkai refused to answer, she just kicked him and went to her room.
Then Kuwabara and Hiei had gotten into a fight, it seemed the whole team was very tense and frustrated, they had seen some of Kyna's powers, and by the way the fight had gone with the Shikigami, Kyna was far stronger and had more experience than all of them.
But Kurama knew she was not a threat to them, and neither were those with her. But he was very worried about that man, or rather, youkai, named Tai Kanne, he wondered if he was the one that made all those terrible injuries on Kyna when they met, 7 years ago, when he was 13 years old.

A 13 year old Kurama sighed as he watched his crying neightbour through the window, his mother was with her, trying to calm her down, but it was not working.
The woman had been crying since she knew of her son's death 5 hours ago, his mother had came and told him she was going to spend the night with her, he had agreed, knowing he was better alone in his own house than with a group of people he didn't know well enough to be comfortable.
Kurama moved away from the window and to his room, he closed the door and took out a book from one of the shelves, he sat down on his bed and began to read.
A few hours later, he felt the temperature in the entire house drop suddently, a bit startled, he looked at his clock, 1:28 am it read.
Curious and confused, he opened the door to his room and walked downstairs, he cheked the kitchen, his mother's room, the study, the guest room, and found nothing.
He was going back to his room when he felt a very weak youki comming from the dark livingroom, he took a rose from a vase near him and turned the lights on.
As soon as light flooded the room, a black colored wolf with blood red eyes jumped at him, only to be cut in 2 by an electric blue colored whip that came from his left, the wolf turned to ashes, more than a little startled, he jerked his head towards that way and moved away, forming a whip with his rose, his narrowed eyes landed on a young looking white haired girl, a girl that was not human he could easly tell.
Her blue tipped hair and bangs, as well as the wolfish ears and tail were proof enough of that, not to mention the stripe on each cheek, but the feature that suprised him the most and seemed the most beautiful thing he had seen were the youkai's eyes.
Her eyes, even glazed with what he could only wonder was exaustion and blood loss, judging by her blood soaked clothes, were a beautiful and clear shade of blue, so brillant he had only seen that color in the most precious of stones, her eyes were framed by a golden edge that made a strong but breathtaking contrast, her black pupils were thin and long, making them look like a cat's.
And those beautiful eyes were narrowed in annoyance and distrust, directed at him, no doubt. But he could swear those orbs softened for less than a second.
" Are you alright? " She asked, her voice low and tired, but at the same time strong and powerful.
" Hai, I am, thank you, for saving me. " Kurama said as he walked slowly towards her, she didn't make any kind of move, but her eyes closed. " You are hurt and tired, please, let me halp you. " Kurama pleaded.
" Doshite? " She asked, opening one eye to look at him. " You don't know me, what if I want to kill you? "
" You would already done so " Kurama answered easlily.
" It's floolish to trust a demon, even if that demon is as weak as I am. " Kyna said as she placed her hand in the wall to keep herself from falling.
" I am aware of that, but I still want to help you. " Kurama said.
" Why? " Asked Kyna, her blurry blue eyes locked with Kurama's worried green ones.
" I do not know, I just feel like I need to help you, or I'll regret it later. " Kurama said. " But by mother will freak out if she sees you. " Kurama added as an after thought.
" Do you truly wish to help me? " Kyna asked.
Kurama nodded as he steped closer to her, only to stop as Kyna's whole body was enveloped by a bright silver light, Kurama was barely able to see her body shrink and expand until the only thing that remained was the shape of a quite big dog.
The light dissappeared, and in Kyna's place stood a white wolfish dog, the blue in her fur, tip of her tails and her ears was changing to white as 2 of her 3 tails dissapeared, the magenta stripes in her ankles, wrists, back and cheeks also faded.
" Eh? " Kurama said confused, but then he snapped out from his confusion when his eyes landed on the serval injuries in the inu's body.
She had a deep cut in her abdomen, from one rib to another, a diagonal cut from the back of her left shoulder to her right hip, another from her right shoulder to the oposite side of her colarbone, another in her left front leg, from the side of her shoulder to her elbow and another in the inside of the same leg, from her wrist to the underside of her elbow.
" Ouch. " Kurama whispered as he moved closer to the Inu.
There was a chuckle like sound inside Kurama's mind, and his eyes moved from her side injury to her eyes, which were locked on his, then he noticed the small berry colored rombus in the back of her right shoulder.
" What's that? " He asked, ponting at the mark.
Kyna's blue eyes moved to her shoulder. - Ah...That, it's a mark created by fire youki -
" Youkai don't scar. " Kurama said, slightly confused.
- If you use something infused with fire youki in an ice demon's body, a mark will remain and vice versa. - Kyna explained as her eyes slid shut.
" What's your name? " Kurama asked as he began bandaging her wounds.
-. . .- Kyna remained silent in her hesitation, finaly, with a mental sigh inside Kurama's mind, she spoke, softly but clearly. - Kyna -
" Kyna? That's a strange name, I have never heard it before, but it fits you. " Kurama chuckled softly. " I am Minamino Shuuichi, but everyone calls me Kurama. "
Kyna's eyes snaped open and locked with Kurama's emerald green ones, and for less than a second, Youko's image flashed over his human one. - You are a demon whose soul mixed with a human's in a human body. - Kyna stated, there was some kind of warm sadness in her eyes.
Kurama looked suprised. " How did you know? "
- I am old and I have seen many things during my life. - Kyna said, her eyes locked with Kurama's.
" Do you live in Makai? " Kurama asked.
- Yes. . .And no. - Kyna answered, and Kurama frowned, Kyna saw he didn't understand and began to explain. - The place I come from is called the Valley of Seasons.-
" I have never heard of it. " Kurama answered as he finsihed bandaging Kyna's wounds and sat infront of the laying inu.
- I suppouse you haven't, it is sorrounded by a very powerful barrier that traped the mountain foxes, water dragons and ice phoenixes inside, no one could get out, or get in, until the Gem of Dreams was created by a powerful water dragon, he used the last bit of his power, he tried his hardest to open the barrier when his people began to starve, he died trying, but instead of destroying the barrier, a gem was created by the hole he created in the portal, his power and his own blood, the Gem of Dreams works as key to open the barrier, no one can get in if he or she is not invited by any of the 3 races, but everyone can get out if they don't belong to any of those three. -
" But you aren't one of those 3 races, are you? "
- No...I am an ice inu. - Kyna answered softly as she rested her head in her front paws, her eyes were watching Kuaram carefully, as if she was trying to find something in his eyes, or rather, someone. - I was taken in by the Mountain Fox King along with my older brother and we both were raised as his children after my mother's death, when I was 10 years old. -
" I'm sorry to hear that. " Kurama said softly.
Kyna closed her eyes. - It's no longer important...-
" I guess the pain never stops. " Kurama commented.
- No...It doesn't...But it lessens- Kyna said as her eyes opened.
Kurama yawned, and there was the soft sound of Kyna's chuckle in his mind once again.
- Go to sleep, it's very late already. - Kyna said, Kurama nodded and stood up, he was about to walk again when he looked at Kyna again.
" Where will you sleep? " He asked her as she stood up.
- That should not concern you, Kurama. - Kyna said, Kurama nodded and went upstairs to his room.
Kyna smiled inside her mind and followed Kurama to his room, she laid down next to his bed after he laid down in it.
" Oyasumi " Kurama whispered, knowing that the inu could hear him.
- Oyasumi...- Kyna answered back as her eyes closed.

Kurama awoke the next day at the smell of hot cakes, he sat up in his bed and looked around his room, Kyna was no where in sight and the door was open.
- Maybe she left already... - He thought and he walked downstairs to the kitchen.
And his jaw dropped in shock when he entered said place.
So, sue him, Kyna was still in the house, still in her dog form, purring and being petted by his mother, who had a silly smile in her face.
" Good morning honey " Shiori said when she saw him.
" Good morning mother...I see you met Kyna. " He said, slightly confused.
" Oh, you mean this sweetheart? She's so sweet, I found her resting next to your bed when I came home a few hours ago she tagged along as I came to the kitchen and mentioned chocolate ice cream, I gave her some, by the way. " Shiori said, smiling at Kurama.
- So, you changed me for a bowl of ice cream? How sweet of you. - Kurama said in Kyna's mind.
- It's not my fault, Akage, she offered me the ice cream, how could I refuse? - Kyna said back as her strange eyes locked with Kurama's.
" Mother, can Kyna stay for a while? " Kurama asked.
" Of course, tell me, Shuichi, was she injured when you found her? "
- More like she found me. - Kurama thought, but answered his mother. " Yes, why? "
" I didn't see any blood, were the injuries old? " Shiori asked.
- No, they were quite fresh. - Kurama thought with a frown. " Old enough to not bleed, mother. "
" I see. " Shiori said with a smile. " I have to go shopping for some food, I'll be back later, okay? "
" Yes, mother. " Kurama said, once Shiori exited the house, he turned to Kyna, who was now watching TV, back to her human-like self, with a soft smile, Kurama sat down next to her, no words were exchanged as the two watched the TV program in comfortable silence.

Kyna, with one katana in each hand, moved over the practiced and almost unconscious movements of the katas taught to her by the Water Dragon King.
The most skilled warrior she had the chance of meeting, a living legend, as his own kind called him, but the old dragon, having turned a millennium old a few years back, was actually a cheerful dragon, and very mischievous.
The damn over-grown lizard's hobby was to bother her all day long when she was younger, and train her to death. He was a very strict teacher, but thanks to him, she was this skilled handling a sword.
But she still didn't like his training. . .
The moon glinted over the sword's blade as they seem to sing as they cut smoothly through the air while Kyna moved her body softly, as if she was doing some kind of erotic dance instead of movements designed to end someone's life.
Her mind was solely focused on what she was doing, her mind was blank, blank of thoughts, feeling and memories that seem to haunt her since she knew the cruelties of life, since her mother's death.
Cold, calculating, merciless, determined . . . Qualities life had taught her with it's unforgiving hand, as she made her way through a life full of hardships, with the single minded propose to protect those she loved with her own life if needed be.
That had been the reason she had endured the almost sadistic training of the Dragon King, because she desired to protect those she loved.
But as unlikely as it may seem, she grew fond of the wise dragon, and had mourned his passing, even if in the outside, her face had been cold and unreadable.
She became distracted, her once blank mind flooding with memories, and in consequence, she cut the palm of her right hand.
With a clatter, both swords fell to the floor, one, as clean as the grass beneath her feet, and the other, tainted by her crimson blood.
Kyna laid on the wet grass, Len kept the snow out of his gardens, much to Kyna's annoyance, feeling it's wetness soak through her fighting attire onto her heated skin, she sighed as she laid there, gazing at the full moon on the sky as her blood ran down her palm into the grass, she closed her eyes as she let the calm silence and cold weather wash over her, relaxing her tense body.
She heard footsteps, then someone laid next to her, his head next to her own, she recognized Kurai's black hair instantly, seconds before the fire inu spoke.
" Tired, Ky? " He asked, and Kyna could only nod. " You seem to be training awfully hard recently, since that fight with Kanne's shikigami. " Kurai commented as his hand moved to Kyna's ear and began stroking its base softly; the ice inu leaned towards Kurai.
" Kanne is far stronger than I had thought. " Kyna said softly as she brought her right hand to her face and began licking the injury in her palm.
" Yes, I know, Platina is worried that Kanne's power is so much stronger than his own. " Kurai said as he sat up.
" The fox worries over everything. " Kyna said a she looked at Kurai from the corner of her eyes, the silver eyed inu was looking also at her, a serious expression in his usually playful handsome face.
" Your brother is worried for you. " He said, in almost a whisper.
" Are you referring to Kiba, Platina or yourself? " Kyna asked.
" The three of us, I guess. " Kurai said as he brushed Kyna's bangs out from her face, a gesture he did since childhood. " Platina and I might not be related to you and Kiba, or to one another, by blood, but we four were raised together, as siblings, I want you three alive by the end of this nightmare. " Kurai said softly as he kissed Kyna's forehead.
" So do I. " Kyna said softly. - But I am not sure I will survive the last battle against Kanne, if I am to die, I will make sure to bring him down with me. -
" We should get inside, before they began to worry. " Kurai said, his trademark grin in his boyish features. " And I want some chocolate ice cream. "

" So, Toshi, you say you can defeat Kyna, is that right? " Kanne asked.
" Yes, Milord, I most certainly can get rid of that bothersome dog for you. " Toshi said, her pink eyes glinted evilly.
" No...Don't kill her, I want to see her brake, I want to see her emotionless eyes fill with pain and sadness, it will be such a beautiful sight. " Kanne said as he smiled.
" And the fox? " Toshi asked.
" I am the only one that will kill him, I want to feel his blood on my hands as I see him die, slowly and painfully. " Kanne said, slightly angry.
" You know the rest of the Reikai Tantei will stand in your way, so will Kyna's siblings and friends and Kyna herself. " Toshi said, her pink eyes emotionless.
" Yes, being an Inu, her instincts are far too strong for her to ignore. " Kanne said, smirking slightly. " Now, I have a little plan... " Kanne said as he took out a bottle filled with an ice blue and silver liquid.
" What's that? " Toshi asked.
" This? " Kanne said as he shook the bottle, then he opened it and a single drop of the strange liquid spilled from the bottle, when it touched the floor, the floor froze with a silver colored ice. " This my dear, is Ice Inu poison. "
Toshi gasped and Kanne smiled evily.
" It's not as strong as Kyna's, of course, Kyna's poison can kill in seconds. " Kanne stated as his eyes looked at the lidquid. " This poison belongs to a young Ice Inu, he was foolish and naive, and because he hasn't reached full maturity, his poison takes one week to kill it's victim. But as you know, my dear Toshi, Ice Inu poison has no cure, the only one that knew how to make one was that old fool, Drakken, the Dragon King. "
" Hm...I've heard of him, a waste of time, his most powerful technique, the Kori-ryuu Unaru Ha, was lost when the old geezer died, so did many of his secrets in healing and very ancient spells were also lost, what a shame. " Toshi said as her hand reached for her black eagle.
" A shame indeed. " Kanne said before laughing cruelly. " Let's begin the show. "

Kiara was also unconscious, so was Kishiri, who was under the young fox, who had tried to shield her, Kira had a long vertical cut in her back while Kishiri had a bleeding injury in her temple.
Kurai, Platina and Kyna stood next to each other, the Kuroi Inu had a deep cut in his chest, arm and lower back, Platina's right arm was broken and the back of his shirt was soaked in blood because of a deep and quite serious wound.
Kyna was not looking any better, she was holding her right side with her left arm, the blue material of her sleeve was now crimson red with blood, her right arm was limp at her side, blood running down it's full length from the injury in her shoulder, a thin line of blood ran down her cheek into her neck, making the black material that covered her neck look even darker, her eyes were a swirl of blue and gold now, moving eerily and non-stop as the colors mixed together and separated, looking as if they were dancing flames.
The three were breathing heavily as they looked at the black haired dragon demon in front of them.
" You are strong. " He spoke, his voice as strong as a diamond but as soft as the most expensive of silks. " But your soul is incomplete, and you have no desire to piece it back together. " His eyes closed and focused on her own. " Your mind. . . Is a very confusing puzzle, with the darkest shadows and the strongest light I have ever seen. "
The dragon jumped to where Kyna stood, sword drawn, Kyna stopped the attack with her swords, Platina created a sword of ice and tried to slash the dragon, but failed when said dragon jumped in the air, Kurai threw a fire ball at him, but the dragon chanted a spell and the ball of fire turned to energy waves, which exploded on the floor at the same time the three jumped back, avoiding the wave, but it's force sent them flying a few feet away from the dragon.
Platina landed hard on the floor, losing consciousness almost instantly, Kurai also crashed on the floor, but managed to stand up, Kyna, in the other hand, landed on her feet, but fell to one knee as soon as she had regained her balance, both inus were breathing heavily.
" Who are you? " Kyna asked icily.
" My name is Kushuya, I was sent to kill you by my master, Yakumo-sama. " Kushuya said.
" Yakumo? " Kurai asked as he walked next to Kyna, was was now on her feet.
" The King of Meikai. " Kyna answered to Kurai's question, her voice showed nothing of what she was feeling at the moment.
" Very good, Shikage, it's a shame that I need to kill you, take the gem and the ice inu. " Kashuya said, gesturing to Kiba.
" Over our dead body! " They shouted as one as they ran towards the surprised dragon.
Kurai ran infront while Kyna after him, Kurai's right hand was covered by ruby red flames, which he threw at the dragon with a cry of fury, Kashuya jumped in the air to avoid the flames, but Kyna jumped after him, a whip materialized and with a which movement of her hand, she slashed Kashuya across his chest.
The dragon landed on his feet and tried to get away, but Kurai was quicker and tried to slash his face with his claws, Kashuya blocked the attack with his arm, getting slashed in the arm instead, then, he kicked Kurai hard on the ribs, sending him crashing a few feet away from them.
Kyna closed on Kashuya, her claws grew and filled with poison, without wasting time, she sank her claws in Kashuya's chest, releasing her poison, Kashuya used Kyna's close proximity to him to use a wave of energy to send her clashing into a wall at the same time Kashuya fell dead, on the floor.
Kyna managed to stand up once more and walked towards Kurai, who was now up and checking the dragon's dead body.
-The King of Meikai- Thought Kyna as she leaned on Kurai for support when she felt her last strength leaving her. - Has joined Kanne in his plans.-
Kurai caught the Reikai Tantei from the corner of his eye, and turned towards him, sensing his movement, Kyna turned towards the same direction.

The Reikai Tantei, along with Genkai, Keiko, Shizuru, and Yukina ran through the stairs of the building under construction, very strong youki was felt in the roof, and so, they went to investigate.
They stopped dead in their tracks at the scene that met their eyes, both inus had killed the dragon youkai with serious wounds in a short time.
Yusuke and Kurama tried to step forward, but Kurai's growl stoped Yusuke dead in his tracks, but Kurama, unlike Yusuke, continued walking.
- Are you crazy, fox? - Hiei asked in his mind, but Kurama ignored the jaganshi and continued to walk, Kurai moved, but was stopped by Kyna's hand in his shoulder, Kurai turned narrowed eyes towards Kurama, but didn't move anymore.
" I promise no harm will come to any of you, Koenma has decided to leave you alone. " Kurama said softly.
Kyna nodded as her eyes closed as she stopped fighting the remained conscious, Kurai caught her before she could hit the floor and laid her gently on the ground, careful of her many wounds, then he turned to Kurama with narrowed suspicious eyes.
" If you betray my sister's trust...I'll kill you with my bare hands. " the inu said before falling unconcious next to the Ice Inu.
" let's take them to the temple. " Genkai said as Kurama carried Kyna's unconscious form bridal style, Kuwabara carried Kurai and Kiba over both of his shoulders, Shizuru carried Kiara's small form and Hiei Kiara's, both, bridal style, and Yusuke carried Platina. " There we can heal them, and ask some important questions. " Genkai said and everyone nodded and headed back to the temple.
- Yes, important questions, like who is exactly after you, who hurt you when we met and why did you leave back then, without even a goodbye. - Kurama thought as he gazed at Kyna's peaceful face as he walked with the other's towards Genkai's temple, everyone was in their own musings, but strangely enough, all thoughts were related to the unconscious group of youkai.

" Hai, I am, thank you, for saving me. " Kurama said as he walked slowly towards her, she didn't make any kind of move, but her eyes closed. " You are hurt and tired, please, let me halp you. " Kurama pleaded.
" Doshite? " She asked, opening one eye to look at him. " You don't know me, what if I want to kill you? "
" You would already done so " Kurama answered easlily.
" It's floolish to trust a demon, even if that demon is as weak as I am. " Kyna said as she placed her hand in the wall to keep herself from falling.
" I am aware of that, but I still want to help you. " Kurama said.
" Why? " Asked Kyna, her blurry blue eyes locked with Kurama's worried green ones.
" I do not know, I just feel like I need to help you, or I'll regret it later. " Kurama said. " But by mother will freak out if she sees you. " Kurama added as an after thought.
" Do you truly wish to help me? " Kyna asked.
Kurama nodded as he steped closer to her, only to stop as Kyna's whole body was enveloped by a bright silver light, Kurama was barely able to see her body shrink and expand until the only thing that remained was the shape of a quite big dog.
The light dissappeared, and in Kyna's place stood a white wolfish dog, the blue in her fur, tip of her tails and her ears was changing to white as 2 of her 3 tails dissapeared, the magenta stripes in her ankles, wrists, back and cheeks also faded.
" Eh? " Kurama said confused, but then he snapped out from his confusion when his eyes landed on the serval injuries in the inu's body.
She had a deep cut in her abdomen, from one rib to another, a diagonal cut from the back of her left shoulder to her right hip, another from her right shoulder to the oposite side of her colarbone, another in her left front leg, from the side of her shoulder to her elbow and another in the inside of the same leg, from her wrist to the underside of her elbow.
" Ouch. " Kurama whispered as he moved closer to the Inu.
There was a chuckle like sound inside Kurama's mind, and his eyes moved from her side injury to her eyes, which were locked on his, then he noticed the small berry colored rombus in the back of her right shoulder.
" What's that? " He asked, ponting at the mark.
Kyna's blue eyes moved to her shoulder. - Ah...That, it's a mark created by fire youki -
" Youkai don't scar. " Kurama said, slightly confused.
- If you use something infused with fire youki in an ice demon's body, a mark will remain and vice versa. - Kyna explained as her eyes slid shut.
" What's your name? " Kurama asked as he began bandaging her wounds.
-. . .- Kyna remained silent in her hesitation, finaly, with a mental sigh inside Kurama's mind, she spoke, softly but clearly. - Kyna -
" Kyna? That's a strange name, I have never heard it before, but it fits you. " Kurama chuckled softly. " I am Minamino Shuuichi, but everyone calls me Kurama. "
Kyna's eyes snaped open and locked with Kurama's emerald green ones, and for less than a second, Youko's image flashed over his human one. - You are a demon whose soul mixed with a human's in a human body. - Kyna stated, there was some kind of warm sadness in her eyes.
Kurama looked suprised. " How did you know? "
- I am old and I have seen many things during my life. - Kyna said, her eyes locked with Kurama's.
" Do you live in Makai? " Kurama asked.
- Yes. . .And no. - Kyna answered, and Kurama frowned, Kyna saw he didn't understand and began to explain. - The place I come from is called the Valley of Seasons.-
" I have never heard of it. " Kurama answered as he finsihed bandaging Kyna's wounds and sat infront of the laying inu.
- I suppouse you haven't, it is sorrounded by a very powerful barrier that traped the mountain foxes, water dragons and ice phoenixes inside, no one could get out, or get in, until the Gem of Dreams was created by a powerful water dragon, he used the last bit of his power, he tried his hardest to open the barrier when his people began to starve, he died trying, but instead of destroying the barrier, a gem was created by the hole he created in the portal, his power and his own blood, the Gem of Dreams works as key to open the barrier, no one can get in if he or she is not invited by any of the 3 races, but everyone can get out if they don't belong to any of those three. -
" But you aren't one of those 3 races, are you? "
- No...I am an ice inu. - Kyna answered softly as she rested her head in her front paws, her eyes were watching Kuaram carefully, as if she was trying to find something in his eyes, or rather, someone. - I was taken in by the Mountain Fox King along with my older brother and we both were raised as his children after my mother's death, when I was 10 years old. -
" I'm sorry to hear that. " Kurama said softly.
Kyna closed her eyes. - It's no longer important...-
" I guess the pain never stops. " Kurama commented.
- No...It doesn't...But it lessens- Kyna said as her eyes opened.
Kurama yawned, and there was the soft sound of Kyna's chuckle in his mind once again.
- Go to sleep, it's very late already. - Kyna said, Kurama nodded and stood up, he was about to walk again when he looked at Kyna again.
" Where will you sleep? " He asked her as she stood up.
- That should not concern you, Kurama. - Kyna said, Kurama nodded and went upstairs to his room.
Kyna smiled inside her mind and followed Kurama to his room, she laid down next to his bed after he laid down in it.
" Oyasumi " Kurama whispered, knowing that the inu could hear him.
- Oyasumi...- Kyna answered back as her eyes closed.

Kurama awoke the next day at the smell of hot cakes, he sat up in his bed and looked around his room, Kyna was no where in sight and the door was open.
- Maybe she left already... - He thought and he walked downstairs to the kitchen.
And his jaw dropped in shock when he entered said place.
So, sue him, Kyna was still in the house, still in her dog form, purring and being petted by his mother, who had a silly smile in her face.
" Good morning honey " Shiori said when she saw him.
" Good morning mother...I see you met Kyna. " He said, slightly confused.
" Oh, you mean this sweetheart? She's so sweet, I found her resting next to your bed when I came home a few hours ago she tagged along as I came to the kitchen and mentioned chocolate ice cream, I gave her some, by the way. " Shiori said, smiling at Kurama.
- So, you changed me for a bowl of ice cream? How sweet of you. - Kurama said in Kyna's mind.
- It's not my fault, Akage, she offered me the ice cream, how could I refuse? - Kyna said back as her strange eyes locked with Kurama's.
" Mother, can Kyna stay for a while? " Kurama asked.
" Of course, tell me, Shuichi, was she injured when you found her? "
- More like she found me. - Kurama thought, but answered his mother. " Yes, why? "
" I didn't see any blood, were the injuries old? " Shiori asked.
- No, they were quite fresh. - Kurama thought with a frown. " Old enough to not bleed, mother. "
" I see. " Shiori said with a smile. " I have to go shopping for some food, I'll be back later, okay? "
" Yes, mother. " Kurama said, once Shiori exited the house, he turned to Kyna, who was now watching TV, back to her human-like self, with a soft smile, Kurama sat down next to her, no words were exchanged as the two watched the TV program in comfortable silence.

Kyna, with one katana in each hand, moved over the practiced and almost unconscious movements of the katas taught to her by the Water Dragon King.
The most skilled warrior she had the chance of meeting, a living legend, as his own kind called him, but the old dragon, having turned a millennium old a few years back, was actually a cheerful dragon, and very mischievous.
The damn over-grown lizard's hobby was to bother her all day long when she was younger, and train her to death. He was a very strict teacher, but thanks to him, she was this skilled handling a sword.
But she still didn't like his training. . .
The moon glinted over the sword's blade as they seem to sing as they cut smoothly through the air while Kyna moved her body softly, as if she was doing some kind of erotic dance instead of movements designed to end someone's life.
Her mind was solely focused on what she was doing, her mind was blank, blank of thoughts, feeling and memories that seem to haunt her since she knew the cruelties of life, since her mother's death.
Cold, calculating, merciless, determined . . . Qualities life had taught her with it's unforgiving hand, as she made her way through a life full of hardships, with the single minded propose to protect those she loved with her own life if needed be.
That had been the reason she had endured the almost sadistic training of the Dragon King, because she desired to protect those she loved.
But as unlikely as it may seem, she grew fond of the wise dragon, and had mourned his passing, even if in the outside, her face had been cold and unreadable.
She became distracted, her once blank mind flooding with memories, and in consequence, she cut the palm of her right hand.
With a clatter, both swords fell to the floor, one, as clean as the grass beneath her feet, and the other, tainted by her crimson blood.
Kyna laid on the wet grass, Len kept the snow out of his gardens, much to Kyna's annoyance, feeling it's wetness soak through her fighting attire onto her heated skin, she sighed as she laid there, gazing at the full moon on the sky as her blood ran down her palm into the grass, she closed her eyes as she let the calm silence and cold weather wash over her, relaxing her tense body.
She heard footsteps, then someone laid next to her, his head next to her own, she recognized Kurai's black hair instantly, seconds before the fire inu spoke.
" Tired, Ky? " He asked, and Kyna could only nod. " You seem to be training awfully hard recently, since that fight with Kanne's shikigami. " Kurai commented as his hand moved to Kyna's ear and began stroking its base softly; the ice inu leaned towards Kurai.
" Kanne is far stronger than I had thought. " Kyna said softly as she brought her right hand to her face and began licking the injury in her palm.
" Yes, I know, Platina is worried that Kanne's power is so much stronger than his own. " Kurai said as he sat up.
" The fox worries over everything. " Kyna said a she looked at Kurai from the corner of her eyes, the silver eyed inu was looking also at her, a serious expression in his usually playful handsome face.
" Your brother is worried for you. " He said, in almost a whisper.
" Are you referring to Kiba, Platina or yourself? " Kyna asked.
" The three of us, I guess. " Kurai said as he brushed Kyna's bangs out from her face, a gesture he did since childhood. " Platina and I might not be related to you and Kiba, or to one another, by blood, but we four were raised together, as siblings, I want you three alive by the end of this nightmare. " Kurai said softly as he kissed Kyna's forehead.
" So do I. " Kyna said softly. - But I am not sure I will survive the last battle against Kanne, if I am to die, I will make sure to bring him down with me. -
" We should get inside, before they began to worry. " Kurai said, his trademark grin in his boyish features. " And I want some chocolate ice cream. "

While Kyna practiced with her sword and Kurama remembered times long past, in Makai, Kanne smiled at the black hooded demon.
" So, Toshi, you say you can defeat Kyna, is that right? " Kanne asked.
" Yes, Milord, I most certainly can get rid of that bothersome dog for you. " Toshi said, her pink eyes glinted evilly.
" No...Don't kill her, I want to see her brake, I want to see her emotionless eyes fill with pain and sadness, it will be such a beautiful sight. " Kanne said as he smiled.
" And the fox? " Toshi asked.
" I am the only one that will kill him, I want to feel his blood on my hands as I see him die, slowly and painfully. " Kanne said, slightly angry.
" You know the rest of the Reikai Tantei will stand in your way, so will Kyna's siblings and friends and Kyna herself. " Toshi said, her pink eyes emotionless.
" Yes, being an Inu, her instincts are far too strong for her to ignore. " Kanne said, smirking slightly. " Now, I have a little plan... " Kanne said as he took out a bottle filled with an ice blue and silver liquid.
" What's that? " Toshi asked.
" This? " Kanne said as he shook the bottle, then he opened it and a single drop of the strange liquid spilled from the bottle, when it touched the floor, the floor froze with a silver colored ice. " This my dear, is Ice Inu poison. "
Toshi gasped and Kanne smiled evily.
" It's not as strong as Kyna's, of course, Kyna's poison can kill in seconds. " Kanne stated as his eyes looked at the lidquid. " This poison belongs to a young Ice Inu, he was foolish and naive, and because he hasn't reached full maturity, his poison takes one week to kill it's victim. But as you know, my dear Toshi, Ice Inu poison has no cure, the only one that knew how to make one was that old fool, Drakken, the Dragon King. "
" Hm...I've heard of him, a waste of time, his most powerful technique, the Kori-ryuu Unaru Ha, was lost when the old geezer died, so did many of his secrets in healing and very ancient spells were also lost, what a shame. " Toshi said as her hand reached for her black eagle.
" A shame indeed. " Kanne said before laughing cruelly. " Let's begin the show. "

It had been all so sudden, so fast and so brutal they didn't have a chance to avoid or block the fatal attack completely, and in consequence, they were injured quite badly.
Kiba was unconscious in the floor, his eyes, mirror's of Kyna's own, were closed, a thin line of crimson blood ran down his cheek to the floor, blood purred from a wound in his abdomen, another in his left leg, that was resting against the floor and the front of his shoulder to the floor.
Kiara was also unconscious, so was Kishiri, who was under the young fox, who had tried to shield her, Kira had a long vertical cut in her back while Kishiri had a bleeding injury in her temple.
Kurai, Platina and Kyna stood next to each other, the Kuroi Inu had a deep cut in his chest, arm and lower back, Platina's right arm was broken and the back of his shirt was soaked in blood because of a deep and quite serious wound.
Kyna was not looking any better, she was holding her right side with her left arm, the blue material of her sleeve was now crimson red with blood, her right arm was limp at her side, blood running down it's full length from the injury in her shoulder, a thin line of blood ran down her cheek into her neck, making the black material that covered her neck look even darker, her eyes were a swirl of blue and gold now, moving eerily and non-stop as the colors mixed together and separated, looking as if they were dancing flames.
The three were breathing heavily as they looked at the black haired dragon demon in front of them.
" You are strong. " He spoke, his voice as strong as a diamond but as soft as the most expensive of silks. " But your soul is incomplete, and you have no desire to piece it back together. " His eyes closed and focused on her own. " Your mind. . . Is a very confusing puzzle, with the darkest shadows and the strongest light I have ever seen. "
The dragon jumped to where Kyna stood, sword drawn, Kyna stopped the attack with her swords, Platina created a sword of ice and tried to slash the dragon, but failed when said dragon jumped in the air, Kurai threw a fire ball at him, but the dragon chanted a spell and the ball of fire turned to energy waves, which exploded on the floor at the same time the three jumped back, avoiding the wave, but it's force sent them flying a few feet away from the dragon.
Platina landed hard on the floor, losing consciousness almost instantly, Kurai also crashed on the floor, but managed to stand up, Kyna, in the other hand, landed on her feet, but fell to one knee as soon as she had regained her balance, both inus were breathing heavily.
" Who are you? " Kyna asked icily.
" My name is Kushuya, I was sent to kill you by my master, Yakumo-sama. " Kushuya said.
" Yakumo? " Kurai asked as he walked next to Kyna, was was now on her feet.
" The King of Meikai. " Kyna answered to Kurai's question, her voice showed nothing of what she was feeling at the moment.
" Very good, Shikage, it's a shame that I need to kill you, take the gem and the ice inu. " Kashuya said, gesturing to Kiba.
" Over our dead body! " They shouted as one as they ran towards the surprised dragon.
Kurai ran infront while Kyna after him, Kurai's right hand was covered by ruby red flames, which he threw at the dragon with a cry of fury, Kashuya jumped in the air to avoid the flames, but Kyna jumped after him, a whip materialized and with a which movement of her hand, she slashed Kashuya across his chest.
The dragon landed on his feet and tried to get away, but Kurai was quicker and tried to slash his face with his claws, Kashuya blocked the attack with his arm, getting slashed in the arm instead, then, he kicked Kurai hard on the ribs, sending him crashing a few feet away from them.
Kyna closed on Kashuya, her claws grew and filled with poison, without wasting time, she sank her claws in Kashuya's chest, releasing her poison, Kashuya used Kyna's close proximity to him to use a wave of energy to send her clashing into a wall at the same time Kashuya fell dead, on the floor.
Kyna managed to stand up once more and walked towards Kurai, who was now up and checking the dragon's dead body.
-The King of Meikai- Thought Kyna as she leaned on Kurai for support when she felt her last strength leaving her. - Has joined Kanne in his plans.-
Kurai caught the Reikai Tantei from the corner of his eye, and turned towards him, sensing his movement, Kyna turned towards the same direction.

The Reikai Tantei, along with Genkai, Keiko, Shizuru, and Yukina ran through the stairs of the building under construction, very strong youki was felt in the roof, and so, they went to investigate.
They stopped dead in their tracks at the scene that met their eyes, both inus had killed the dragon youkai with serious wounds in a short time.
Yusuke and Kurama tried to step forward, but Kurai's growl stoped Yusuke dead in his tracks, but Kurama, unlike Yusuke, continued walking.
- Are you crazy, fox? - Hiei asked in his mind, but Kurama ignored the jaganshi and continued to walk, Kurai moved, but was stopped by Kyna's hand in his shoulder, Kurai turned narrowed eyes towards Kurama, but didn't move anymore.
" I promise no harm will come to any of you, Koenma has decided to leave you alone. " Kurama said softly.
Kyna nodded as her eyes closed as she stopped fighting the remained conscious, Kurai caught her before she could hit the floor and laid her gently on the ground, careful of her many wounds, then he turned to Kurama with narrowed suspicious eyes.
" If you betray my sister's trust...I'll kill you with my bare hands. " the inu said before falling unconcious next to the Ice Inu.
" let's take them to the temple. " Genkai said as Kurama carried Kyna's unconscious form bridal style, Kuwabara carried Kurai and Kiba over both of his shoulders, Shizuru carried Kiara's small form and Hiei Kiara's, both, bridal style, and Yusuke carried Platina. " There we can heal them, and ask some important questions. " Genkai said and everyone nodded and headed back to the temple.
- Yes, important questions, like who is exactly after you, who hurt you when we met and why did you leave back then, without even a goodbye. - Kurama thought as he gazed at Kyna's peaceful face as he walked with the other's towards Genkai's temple, everyone was in their own musings, but strangely enough, all thoughts were related to the unconscious group of youkai.
