As she was pulled into the shadows she felt like her body had frozen, as though she couldn't move no matter how hard she tried. Everything was happening to soon and there Kurama was still walking, as it seemed her life went in slow motion on a movie screen. She was pulled deep into the shadows like they were choking her figure as slammed roughly against a wall before she could make a sudden movement, her eyes were now slammed shut. It smelled of rotting garbage and mold from what Kitty could tell and she could feel cold and clammy hands holding her arms tightly and pinning her against the wall.

`Do I dare even open my eyes and where is Kurama?' She asked herself as she slowly opened one eye and stared into a dirt-covered face with a single horn protruding out of the forehead but it looked transparent like a ghost hovering in the air. It looked like your average human except for the translucent horn and slightly glowing red eyes. Kitty's first instinct was to scream, scream like she had never before but instead she began to struggle and caught the guy off guard making on of his hands release her left arm.

“I warn thee, before the end it will come to you, before the end you will have nothing to do…. before the end you will be alone…” His voice cracked as she spoke in a scratchy yet deep voice.

With that said Kitty felt like she could control her struggling and muscle movements while she jerked away from the person completely getting away from him and looked towards the exit just in time to see Kurama turn the corner looking at her.

He glanced from the both of them but he kept his calm composer as he saw the ones eyes. Kurama started to walk over to her and Kitty inched away from the guy who slowly slunk into the shadows of the ally away from the two of them.

`What a Looney demon…he's gone crazy from being away from other demons…wait? I didn't know there were actually demons in the Human world…' Kitty thought to herself as she looked at Kurama standing before her looking her over to make sure she was not hurt at all.

“Are you alright?” He asked in a calm voice. Kitty told him that she was and they headed home again, thought running through both of their minds all running along the line of that same Alley Guy.

 

They arrived back at Kurama's house and walked it taking their shoes off at the door. Shiori greeted them.

“Hello Shuichi, Kitty, where have the two of you been?” It looked as though she had just come back from being somewhere other then the house as she set her purse on a table by the door. Kurama held the bangs that where in his hands up a bit.

“We went shopping, mother.” He said with a small smile towards his guardian and she returned it.

“Oh, seems like the two of you had fun then. Well, I will get dinner on and it will be ready soon, I will call you when it is ready.” She bowed slightly all of them bidding their goodbyes and left. Kitty looked at Kurama before she started to the guest room, Kurama following behind her with her luggage from the mall.

“That was a very interesting way to spend our time today.” Kurama noted as he followed behind her.

“Yeah, did you see that feared face Botan made after we went into Hot Topic? Dude, that was great…” Kitty said with a bit of enthusiasm and walked into the guest room pointing to the floor by the door.

“Yes I did seem to catch that look upon her face…” Kurama agreed and walked past her setting the bags on the bed. Kitty smirked slightly as she remembered the look as she walked over to the bed and started to sort through the bags.

“I believe that the look Botan gave you is the least that should be on your mind though…” He began as she watched her start to put away her new belongings in their proper places that she had set.

“Um, what do you mean?” She questioned.

“That man from the alley way, he was a demon.” He stated and leaned on the wall near the head of the bed with his back against the wall.

“Yeah, I noticed, it wasn't that hard to miss unless you take me for being even more stupid then I am.” Kitty said as she put the last object away. Kurama looked at her and then asked,

“Have you seen him before?”

Kitty shook her head in response and walked over and sat on the bed. “Not in my life…”

Kurama nodded his head, showing that he understood.

`But why would he come to her in the human world…why was he even in the human world in the first place? No demon is supposed to be here without Koenma's knowledge, if he had knew then he would have told Yusuke or myself.' Kurama's thoughts wondered a bit as he looked at the ground.

The demon's words started to play over and over within Kitty's thoughts; the words seemed to taunt her mind.

“I warn thee, before the end it will come to you, before the end you will have nothing to do…. before the end you will be alone…” Kitty whispered out loud subconsciously as she looked to the floor in her thoughts not realizing that she had just spoke her thoughts aloud. These words caught Kurama's attention and looked up at her with the slightest bit of curiosity in his eyes.

“Pardon me?” He asked her leaning off of the wall.

Kitty jerked her head up and looked at him in a slightly confused way. “Hm?”

“You said something.” He said with a small smile to her.

“Oh I did?” She asked tilting her head to the side in a bit of confusion.

“Yes…” Kurama sweat dropped a little.

“Oh I didn't know I said anything…” She smiled innocently, “But if I figure out what I said I will tell you…” Kurama nodded his head.

“Please, do.” He said just in time to hear his mothers sweet voice call for the both of them to come for food.

“Well,” Kitty stood up and stretched the slightest bit, “Food time!” She said and grabbed Kurama hand starting to drag slash lead him to the dining room.

Kurama stumbled a bit from the sudden movement but followed after her, letting her pull him down the hall way to dinner.

 

There was rice balls with ramen noodles for dinner and a pleasant talk buzzed around the table between Kurama, his mother, and Kitty. It was the little things such as information about each of them, rules of the house, and what each of them liked. It was small talk sure, but there was nothing more that was needed to be said with out spilling anything that would mess up Kurama's and Kitty's plans and revealing Koenma.

“So Kitty, how did the two of you meet exactly?” Shuichi's mother asked as her and Kitty began to clear the table.

`Er…can't say the truth…but I can't lie to her she's too nice…' Kitty had to think fast, she had to think outside the box.

“A friend introduced us and we have been hanging around each other since then.” She mentally sighed in relief that she, for once, had come up with a fast answer without lying or telling the truth fully.

“Oh, sounds interesting…” Kurama's mother said in a polite way and the two of them started to clean, wash, and dry the dishes. When they were done Shiori (A.N.: Tell me if I am spelling that right I am a retard at times ><;;; ) excused herself and went to the living room to catch up on some reading and Kitty went in search of Kurama. She wondered the halls until she reached his room. Quietly she knocked.

“Ello?” She called to the other side.

“Come in.” She heard the calm, familiar voice and opened the door peering in. There Kurama was sitting on his bed as he closed a communicator that he held in his hand. He looked over at her.

“I was just speaking with Koenma, he was…wondering why Botan seemed to off when she had returned…” Kurama smiled lightly at her.

“Oh, well okay…” She said and walked over sitting down beside him. A small yawn escaped her mouth as she looked at him.

“Have fun today?” She asked in an innocent way. Kurama smirked the slightest bit.

“You could say that…” He responded as Kitty laid down on her back on his bed starring at the ceiling.

“Are you comfortable?” Kurama asked her as he saw a look of content slowly form on her face.

“Seems that way, yes.” Kitty responded as she closed her eyes and sighed in a mimicking way. She felt the weight shift on the bed and then heard footsteps come up behind her.

“Well then I won't disturb you…” she felt a hand rest on her shoulder and titled her head instinctively to rest it on the hand. It felt warm to her cheek that caused her to smile as she felt herself suddenly feel drowsy as though she could fall asleep at any given moment from the sudden attention.

`I guess I am just not used to some one being near me like this…well except for Heather these days…but it…' Kitty felt some one sit beside her and she moved closer to the warmth that sat beside her.

`It just feels a bit nice…' With that a few moments later of complete silence she found her self to have drifted off into a light, carefree sleep that was like laying in a bed of roses. (A.N. WOOO MSI song..sorry it went with the Kurama theme of the story and I like that song ^_^' so I put it in there.)
