Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Trapped between two girls. ❯ What the heck are you talking about? ( Chapter 20 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
(A.N.: sorry the last chapter had red writing and like it got cut off I tried fixing it but I swear it hates my guts and would not fix.)
Kurama looked at her for her evil cackle before moving away from her a bit in a joking sort of manner. Unknown to them though, Kristen and her `posse' were following them as Kitty laughed at Kurama's actions and they continued to walk. (A.N.: that's what had gotten cut off)
The sidewalks were filled with the sound of happy teenagers just being let out of school, voices echoed all around them as Kitty and Kurama got closer to the school. As they reached the gates they saw three familiar faces standing around leaning on the gates, it was Heather, Yusuke, and Kuwabara clutching their bags, which only Heather's school bag looked full of books.
“They look…bored…” Kitty said with an evil look on her face that said she was planning something.
“Hey there Yusuke!” Kitty said in a happy, chipper voice. He looked up at her with confusion on his face.
“What, are you so happy you are finally out of school or something?” He asked while looking her over, “or did you just sniff something?” Kitty looked at him with a `what the hell' sort of face.
“Don't ask, he's mad because since he hasn't been in school, another thug took his place.” Kuwabara answered with a friendly slap to Yusuke's back.
“You shouldn't be talking, your place has been taken too.” Heather retorted in a monotone voice. Students were walking by Yusuke like he was just your average student in the school, no one in particular just your average Joe. Their actions seemed to be making Yusuke more and more aggravated looking.
“Oh and he had a reputation before?” Kitty asked rather confused.
“Actually he was known as, should I say, the boogie man of his school. All of the students fear him, well, feared him.” Kurama filled her in. Kitty nodded her head while mouthing an `oh,' and then looked at Yusuke and walked over patting him lightly on the back in a comforting manner.
`There goes my evil torturing fun…' Kitty thought. “There, there Yusuke…”
“Don't even try it…” He said rather sourly and shrugged her hand away.
“Yusuke she was only trying to help you. Don't act so rudely.” Kurama said as Kitty stepped back into place next to him.
“Yeah well, I didn't ask for it okay?” He snapped back with such sharp words that it sounded as though he would explode into a shouting frenzy at any given moment.
“Sorry…” Kitty muttered and looked at the ground. `Geese, all I did was try and help…Guess that proves that everything I do is wrong…'
“Hey, watch it.” Heather snapped at Yusuke and this gained her looks from everyone in the group plus others that are passing by.
“What?” Yusuke asked as they both leaned off of the gate.
“Er guys…” Kuwabara said in a hesitant voice, “maybe you should just…”
“No, he basically just snapped at someone who was trying to help him.”
“And I said I didn't need it!” Yusuke shouted back. Kurama looked at Kitty who was staring at her friend and Yusuke.
`She shouldn't be getting into a fight over me…he didn't do anything that bad…' She thought to herself as she watched Heather and Yusuke started to verbally abuse one another in a shouting contest of wits.
“Shut up!” She shouted startling Heather and Yusuke who stopped in mid sentence, Kuwabara nearly jumped out of his skin, and Kurama flinched from the volume of her voice.
“Kitty?” He asked looking at her. She didn't return his gaze.
“I don't want to see you guess fighting you are already in bad moods as it is!”
Heather blinked at her friend as she started to storm off from the group. Kurama stayed were he was sensing that he might just want to leave her bee to cool off.
“Kitty!” Heather shouted and then glared at Yusuke.
“Now look what you have done!”
“Me? It was you!” Yusuke and her then started to get into another shouting fight as Kuwabara, and Kurama could only watch them and wonder where Kitty was going.
Kitty walked through the yard of the school to around the back and looked around at the vast, nearly empty area. There was short grass covering the ground she walked upon before she leaned her back against the cold building. She let out a long, low sigh and stared down at the lush green ground.
“It's good to get away from their yelling…” She said to no one in particular. `They just took all of the fun out of wanting to torture them…' Kitty stood there staring at the ground with a glassy like look to her eyes and blank face. To ones that were passing by, it may have looked like she was a lifeless body propped up against the wall of maybe even a doll. She was so zoned out after a few minuets that she paid no attention to the people that had walked up and stood in front of her.
“Hey.” Came a cold voice but Kitty didn't react in any manner, she was too lost within herself. “Airhead, come out of what ever like disturbing world you are in.” This one brought Kitty out of her voice with a small startled look.
“Huh?” She questioned and looked up to see the, oh so familiar faces, of the group of preppy girls from earlier. The leader of the sheep, Kristen, was standing before Kitty as though she owned the place and people should bow down to her as they walked past her.
“Huh?” Kristen asked in a mocking, fake messed up, voice. Her group of friends laughed at this.
“Oh it's only you, what the hell do you want?” She asked as the leaned up off the wall in a nonchalant manner.
“I wanted to warn you.” She said in a smart-ass sort of voice and stood her ground.
“About what? The dark? The shopping sales at the mall?” Kitty had a small smirk on her face as she thought about how stupid these girls are, trying to warn her about things that were probably worthless to her mind.
“Warn you about what you ask?” Kristen reached a hand up and roughly pushed kitty against the wall that she had just been resting on. “About staying away from my man.” She retorted and the `posse' behind her joined with her with comments that all regarded Kurama.
`She thinks that Kurama is her man? When he just left her there and walked away with me? I don't even think he isn't anyone's `man' so you know what…' Kitty just stood her ground once more.
“Oh yes you mean Shuichi…yeah…” Kitty had a calm voice and a wide, cocky smirk that seemed to make the other girls rather confused looking. “Well he's not yours he's mine…you should have seen how he-” But she was cut off from a hand coming straight for her to slap her right across the face, though, with her cat like reflexes, she grabbed the wrist in mid air and held it there like it was nothing.
“How the…” Kristen asked aloud as she heard gasps from the group behind her.
“Yeah, you might not want to interrupt me when I am speaking…so, before I continue I suggest you leave. Take your groups of preppy, airhead wanna be's and go stalk some other girl before you end up face flat in the ground.” Kitty hissed in a low, threatening voice. Kristen eye's widened as Kitty thrust her arm back rather roughly. She stepped back to blend in with her group.
“You shouldn't have made an enemy like me…it was a bad mistake…” She said and looked at Kitty with disgust
“Whatever…” She mumbled and watched the group of girls stalk off in a haughty way.
`What preppy people…I should have flattened her face in when I had the chance…' Kitty walked back around the side of the school and over to the gate to see that the entire group was still standing there completely silent. They all looked at her as she stopped short beside Kurama and Heather.
“So, where to now?” She asked trying to stay off of the subject of where she just spent her time.
“Home I suppose.” Kurama answered as he glanced at her for the heavy smell of lilac's that seemed to cling to the air around Kitty.
Heather stood from the ground and watched as Yusuke and Kuwabara did the same.
`Should I even trust Heather to go home with Yusuke? She might just try to kill him…'
`I won't…' Heather answered through telepathy.
`You sure?'
`Mhmm…just go home with Kurama and don't worry.' Kitty nodded her head before she looked at Kurama.
“Come on.” She said and looked around at the now almost empty streets.
“Bai Kitty!” Heather said as a wide smile spread on her face.
“Happy freak…” Yusuke mumbled in a grumpy voice.
“Shut up.” Heather said through clenched teeth as she continued to smile. Kitty held back a small laugh as her and Kurama walked in the opposite direction on Yusuke, Kuwabara, and Heather. All of them were oblivious to the two pairs of eyes and two shadowy figures that were watching them from the rooftop of the Junior High School that they were departing of.
“Soon…” A cold voice said as it carried through the wind and both figures disappeared with a blink of an eye.
