The shadow followed his target, but not close enough to be caught. He smiled darkly as she stopped to get her car keys out of her purse. “Perfect…” He purred, swiftly moving behind the beautiful woman. Unbeknownst to him, she smirked, spinning around. She held a silver dagger, piercing him through the heart. “Nice try…Vampire.” She said, tossing blue strands of hair out of her magenta eyes.

She snapped back to awareness and glowered. “More.” She muttered, dropping the dagger. That trick wouldn't work again tonight. She pulled out her car keys and climbed into the awaiting black Porsche. She dialed a number on her hand free cell phone. “Hello?” A voice asked. “Yusuke, it's Botan. I need some back up here, and hurry.”

The man, now known as Yusuke, sighed. “Kurama and I will be there as soon as we can. Don't stay in one place too long.” With that, he hung up.

Botan sighed and went to turn on the engine, but a black figure caught her eye.

He was standing on the hood of her car, hands in his pockets. Only his crimson eyes contrasted against the black. He had arrogant poise, standing up straight, almost in an authoritative way. The full moon shone brightly behind him down the dark alley. His hair swayed slightly in the wind, giving it the affect of black fire. His mouth parted in an evil smirk, showing off a pair of white fangs.

Botan slowly moved her hand to the redial button, but suddenly, another figure appeared out of the dark. Only this one was on Botan's side.

He moved quickly, ready to stab the vampire with the traditional wooden stake doused in holy water. His long red hair billowed in the wind as he jumped down from the building. His black trench coat flew up, revealing dark denim jeans and a black, button down shirt, completed with black army boots and a Pentacle hanging around his neck.

The black figure glared up at Botan's comrade and disappeared into the night in a black blur.

Her comrade landed gracefully on the hood of the car and passively watched her get out. “Are you injured, Botan?” He asked in a slight British accent, his hair settling behind him in a loose ponytail. “No, how `bout you, Kurama?”

Kurama sighed. “I'm fine, Yusuke met some turbulence on the way, so I went ahead alone.”

Botan sighed as well. “Pissed Keiko off?” She asked, earning a chuckle from her red haired friend. “I'm afraid so.”

He jumped off the hood of the car and climbed into the passenger side. “He can fight vampires and kill werewolves, but when it comes to Keiko, he's terrified.” Botan muttered, climbing into the drivers seat. Kurama laughed as she started the car and drove out of the alley.

“I hate assignments like that one. I never know when there'll be more than one.” Botan complained, running her hand through her bangs. Her red haired friend beside her nodded. “I agree. But the one on the car, he is the coven leader. It is said that he is extremely strong and doesn't take his time feeding. He feeds off of both humans and vampires. Vicious one. He is one of our targets.”

Botan choked. “What? You've got to be kidding!”

“Sadly no. Koenma wants him exterminated before he gets too out of hand.” Kurama said, staring out the windshield. “God, sometimes I just want to strangle him!” Botan cried, slamming her hand on the steering wheel. “But he's your boyfriend.” Kurama reminded her.

“Keiko's always strangling Yusuke.”

Her comrade laughed. “Point taken.”

Botan got out of the car and straightened her black capris. She pulled her black jacket tighter to herself over her red halter top. Her black army style boots clunked up the wooden steps to the house. Kurama followed suit, making sure he locked the car. He stared at the scratch marks on the hood.

“This is the last time I let you borrow my car.” He muttered, walking up to the house.

Botan chuckled and opened the door, letting out the aroma of incense and rain water. “Do you have to collect that stuff every time it rains?” Botan asked, glaring back at Kurama. “Yes, I do.” He replied, closing the door and heading to the stairs.

“Where are you going?” She asked. “I'm going to pick up where I left off, sleeping.” With that, he disappeared upstairs.

“Hey Botan, how'd it go?” Botan looked at the entrance to the living room to see Yusuke. His hair was in it's usual style, slicked back with a couple strands hanging down in his eyes. His chocolate brown eyes showed evident anger mixed with guilt. His white t-shirt hung loosely on his broad shouldered, lean muscled form. His jeans were torn at the knees, giving him a bit of a bad ass look.

“It went fine. Got our target and found out about our next.” Yusuke sighed. “His name's Hiei. We're not sure where the actual coven house is, but we're working on it.”

Botan nodded and started up the stairs. “I'm going to bed.” She muttered, yawning. “Koenma already left for bed.” Botan growled.

“I leave on a dangerous mission and he still goes to bed before I get back? I'm going to murder him! Oh Koenma honey! I'm home! Come here so I can shove my foot so far up your ass, you'll be burping leather!”
