Unseen Love 2 Child of the Elements Yama's Servant
Chapter 1

"Sukana Salina, you are still very young, but you have a difficult decision before you," his voice boomed from above my five-year-old form as I tried not to cry. "You can continue the work of you family before you and earn your life in Ningenkai by continuing on as my Spirit Detective, taking the place of your dearly departed brother and Mother. Or, you can choose to live in Makai and be spared from the life of a Detective. The decision is yours, however, no matter what you decide I will not abandon you." I looked up at him with confusion. "Should you choose to stay, I will supply you with proper Senseis to continue your training and I will hold off on assigning missions to you until your training is complete. But if you shall choose to go free from the Detective life, I will assign you a guardian to make sure you are safe."
"Like Papa?" I asked hopefully.
"Spirit Detective Sensui Shinobu is no longer under our control, nor do we have any leads as to his location," the voice of King Yama replied.
My eyes dropped to the floor, the joy that had just risen in my being from the mere thought of being with the man who had protected me zapped from my body in an instant. I was alone now. What was the point in freedom?
"I'll stay," I announced as I stood up in my senior form and looked up at the rather large man whose face was covered with hair.
"Are you sure?" Ayame asked from beside me.
"The only people I know now live in Ningenkai," I pointed out logically. "I don't want to leave them."
"Ningens can never know of our world," Ayame warned.
"My family does not have to know. I'll live with my Godfather, Lenny, and he already knows about all of this. besides, I want to be able to look for Papa and Suki," I explained.
"Spirit Detective Sukana Salina," Yama boomed, "I will place you under the wing of true masters, however, one mission that shall always be in place from this moment on is this: if you ever receive any news as to the location of Sensui Shinobu you must report it to Reikai immediately.
"Why? What do you plan on doing?" I asked.
"Sensui is a traitor to Reikai," Yama explained.
"It's not his fault. You weren't there, you don't know what he had to witness," I complained.
"We are taking that into consideration, Sukana-san, that is why we must find him as soon as possible. We hope to ease the suffering of his mind and allow him to retire properly as a Spirit Detective of Reikai in order to live the life of a proper Ningen," Yama assured me.
"Really?" I asked, looking up at the gentle man of whom my brother had gotten so frustrated with countless time.
"I promise," Yama nodded his head. "Now, it's time to meet your Senseis…."
