Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Untitled Sequel ❯ Lies ( Chapter 5 )
Everyone gasped.
“But- but he’s- they’re supposed to be dead!” Kuwabara yelled.
Yusuke glared at him. “I’m certain, Kuwabara.”
Kuwabara shrugged. “I’m just saying what I know.”
Yusuke stood up. “We have to go now! Ah!” he grabbed his arm.
Kurama frowned. “Yusuke?”
“Damn, that hurt…” Yusuke muttered, rubbing his arm. “It smarts…”
He rolled up his sleeve and everyone saw a slight burn mark on his forearm.
“W-what the-?” Kuwabara stammered. “H-how did that happen?”
Yusuke shook his head. “I don’t know, and I really want it to stop now!”
Genkai stood up. “Let’s go.”
Yusuke growled. “Did you hear me, old lady? I want this thing to stop!”
Genkai rolled her eyes. “Oh alright, if you’re going to whine about it.”
She put a hand to Yusuke’s forehead and mumbled some words they couldn’t hear. Then Yusuke felt a little tingle and his ‘connection’ with Koenma was gone.
He sighed in relief.
“Okay! Now let’s go to Demon World!” he yelled.
It was the evening, and they still had hadn’t been able to find him. Yusuke was getting frustrated, and worried, but he wouldn’t show that.
“Why is it so hard to find this place?” Kuwabara asked, as they walked through a forest.
“I don’t know!” Yusuke shot back. He stuffed his hands in his pockets and kept walking.
“I bet you wish you had kept that link now, don’t you?” Hiei asked, jumping down from the treetop. Yusuke growled.
“No, not really,” he muttered as they continued to push through the jungle.
“I bet you do,” Hiei replied coldly, jumping back into the tree.
Yusuke rolled his eyes and moved to continue, but Genkai held him back.
“It’s getting late,” she said. “We have to go back.”
“I’m not stopping ‘till I find him!” Yusuke yelled.
Genkai looked back at Kurama. Kurama sighed and nodded.
“I’m sorry, Yusuke.” Yusuke blinked.
“What are you-?”
There was a strange scent in the air, and Yusuke’s vision became hazy. He looked at the others. They didn’t seem to be affected.
“What did you-?” he didn’t finish the question as his vision became black.

“Wake up, toddler.”
Koenma opened his eyes and saw Sensui standing in front of him.
“What is it now?” he mumbled. Sensui held out a glass filled with a clear liquid.
Koenma eyed him suspiciously. “What is it?”
“It’s a drink. I want you to drink it.”
“Why? Did you do something to it?”
Sensui shook his head. “No, it’s just water.”
Koenma took the glass and took a sip. It tasted like water… But Koenma didn’t trust Sensui at all.
“Drink it,” Sensui said.
There was no malice in his gaze… Koenma carefully watched Sensui as he finished off the drink. He had been thirsty, but couldn’t he just have drank water from the pool?
“Now, Karasu wants to see you,” Sensui said. Koenma shook his head. He really didn’t want to see Karasu right now.
“It’s alright, he’d not going to hurt you right now,” Sensui said, turning and walking toward the building. Not physically, anyway.
Karasu stepped out of the building and sat next to Koenma. Sensui was gone.
“I’m sure you’re wondering why I’m here,” Karasu said. Koenma nodded.
“Well, it’s about your friends,” Karasu said softly.
Koenma froze. Did they come and get captured as well? Did Karasu or Sensui do anything to them?
“What did you do to them?” he demanded. Karasu chuckled.
“Nothing. They haven’t come. Now I want to ask you a question. Why do think they haven’t come?”
“Because they don’t know where I am,” Koenma answered instantly.
“Always practical. I have another theory. I think that they haven’t come because they simply don’t care anymore,” Karasu said softly. He had used the same words with Hiei.
He hoped that the toddler was more gullible than the fire demon. And if he wasn’t, he had drank the stuff that Sensui had given him. It would influence him to believe what Karasu would tell him.
Koenma blinked. “Do you really think so?”
Karasu nodded. “After all, they would’ve come by now if they did.”
“So… they don’t…” Koenma looked upset. “I know it’s not my place at the moment to ask, but, can I have some time alone to think this over?”
Karasu smirked behind his mask. “Of course.”
He got up and entered the building, seeing Sensui sitting on the couch. He was been watching the conversation.
“So, how did it go?”
“Perfect,” Karasu replied. “He believed it, and now I’m giving him some time to think it over. Of course, when the effects wear off, he’ll realize we were lying, but that won’t happen until tomorrow. And by tomorrow, we’ll have another reason for him to act submissive.”
Sensui frowned. “We do? You didn’t tell me.”
“Well, I hadn’t decided until now. By tomorrow, he’ll be very tired by having been in human form for so long, and probably hungry or thirsty, because what we gave him wasn’t water.”
Sensui chuckled. “You’re talking more than I’m used to. But oh well. I can’t wait until tomorrow.” But then he frowned. “What if the Spirit Detective and the others find him?”
“They won’t. They aren’t in the Demon World at the moment, and I doubt they’ll find him in one day.”
“But there’s another problem. What’s to gain from this?”
“Enjoyment,” Karasu replied. “We might not be able to get anything that we can touch from this, but we can get enjoyment out of this.”
Sensui shrugged. “Ok, then. But I want to do the job for this afternoon.”
Karasu smiled. “Of course, Sensui. Do a good job.” * * *
Well, this chapter was longer than the others, I think. I’m trying to make time pass, but it’s kinda hard to make it reasonable. Oh well, I’ll think of stuff to pass the time.
I’ll try to update soon!
Review if you wish.
