Chapter 14: The Save Disclaimer: I don’t own the show, but I own the ending.

As they walked, they saw a castle about a half hour’s walk away, or so Yusuke said. They kept on walking, and it got bigger. When Yusuke thought they were about five minutes away, he made the others stop and take a small break before they tried to do anything.

“Where do you think he’s holding Hiei?” Yusuke asked.

“Probably in the dungeon or something,” Kuwabara said quietly. Yusuke looked at Kurama.

“What do you think?”

Kurama paused to think. Then he nodded. “I agree with Kuwabara.”

Yusuke nodded. “Alright then, but how do we get there?”

“Well, first we need to get inside and kill anyone who’s there.”

Yusuke nodded again. “Ok. Let’s go. Kurama? Got your rosewhip ready?”

“Yes.” Yusuke looked at Kuwabara.

“Got your sword ready, Kuwa?”

“Yeah, let’s kill ‘em,” Kuwabara muttered, and they walked carefully toward the castle.

They made it to the front of the castle without any problems. Yusuke motioned to Kuwabara to use his Spirit Sword to knock down the door. Kuwa nodded, and slashed at the door. The door shook, but didn’t fall down. Yusuke cursed softly.

“I didn’t think I’d have to do this, but I guess I have to.”

He prepared for shooting his Spirit Gun, but Kuwabara stopped him.

“Wait, Urameshi, don’t waste any ammo! You only have two shots. Let me try again!”

Yusuke shrugged, and Kuwabara raised his Spirit Sword again. As he struck the door, it shook again, and almost fell down. Yusuke grinned. “Do that one more time, Kuwa.”

Kuwabara hit the door again, and it fell down with a loud -BANG-. All of them smiled, and entered the castle. * * *

Karasu looked up at a monitor, hearing a loud noise and saw the three Reikai Tantei entering the castle. He smiled. His plan was working. He looked over at Hiei, who was still sitting in the corner, brooding and sulking.

“Oh, fire demon, your so called ‘friends’ are here,” he called. Hiei blinked.

“Really?” he asked, seeming a little hopeful. Then he remembered the movie, and the little bit of hopefulness was diminished, and he sat back against the wall, frowning.

Karasu looked back up at the monitor. The Reikai Tantei were coming this way, at least slightly surprised that no guards had attacked them yet. Even the oaf had put away his sword. Karasu chuckled. Wouldn’t they be surprised how much their friend had changed…

“Hey Kurama? Do you know where to go now?” Yusuke asked. “I feel like we’ve been here before.”

Kurama paused for a moment. “No, I don’t think so, Yusuke. Hiei is much closer. This way.” he went down another corridor. Kuwa and Yusuke shrugged, then followed him.

Kurama stopped at the end of the corridor. It went off in two directions.

“To the right,” he said, and started off again.

They walked for about fifteen more minutes, still surprised they hadn’t met up with any other demons yet. But they weren’t complaining. Then Kurama stopped in front of a door.

“Here,” he said. Yusuke could hear the hatred in his voice, even though Kurama had tried to hide it. Kurama looked back at Yusuke and Kuwabara.

“Okay guys. We can do this,” he said quietly. Yusuke nodded. They opened the door, and entered the room…

Hiei looked up, hearing a noise. It was in the next room. That was where Karasu was. Maybe it was his ‘friends’. He sat up, confused that the people who had seemed to not care came to rescue him.

Karasu looked over his shoulder and saw the three remaining members of the Reikai Tantei.

(I think that’s how it’s spelled.)

He smiled. Time to set the next part of the plan in motion.

“Hello. Nice to see you all,” he said softly. “Have you come for the fire demon?”

Yusuke stepped forward. “What do you think?”

“Well, I’d be happy to give him to you,” Karasu replied. Yusuke stepped back, confused.

“On one condition.” Yusuke rolled his eyes. He should have known.

Karasu laughed. “Give me the kitsune, and I’ll leave you all alone.”

Yusuke’s energy flared. “No way that’s gonna happen, freaky face,” he muttered.

Karasu frowned. It hadn’t worked. Oh well, he had another idea…

“Well, then go get him,” he said. “He’s in the other room.”

Yusuke glared at him distrustfully, but carefully went into the next room, the others quickly followed. Karasu smirked. He hoped the fire demon would play the part right…

“Hiei? Are you alright?” Kurama asked anxiously, kneeling next to him.

“Hn. I’m fine, silly kitsune.”

Kurama smiled. “You’re alright. Great. Now let’s get out of here,” he said, and set to picking the lock on the chains. Hiei frowned.

“Fox, get out. There’s a problem.”

Kurama raised an eyebrow. “What problem?”

They heard the door slam and lock.

“That problem.”

Yusuke cursed silently. “Now how are we going to get out?”

Kuwabara thought for a moment. “Urameshi? Could your Spirit Gun blow the door down?”

Yusuke shrugged. “Might as well try.”

He prepared for the Spirit Gun. “I have one more shot if this doesn’t work anyway.”

He fired, and the shot hit the door, dead-on. They saw a hole in the door, but it wasn’t big enough for anyone to get through. Yusuke cursed again, louder this time.

“Now what are we going to do?” Kuwa asked, discouraged.

Hiei thought for a moment. “Maybe if we all do our attacks at the same time.” he looked at Kurama. “Are you done, fox?”

Kurama stood up and nodded. “Blast them, Hiei.”

Hiei flared his energy, and the chains burst, scorched. Hiei walked over to the door and whipped out his katana.

“Let’s do this,” he whispered. “I’m first.”

Hiei slashed the door with his katana, then jumped back.

“Your turn, oaf!” Kuwabara ran up.

“Spirit Sword!” Kuwa slashed the door over where Hiei had, and it became a long, thin hole.

“Urameshi!” Yusuke ran up.

“Spirit Gun!” He shot, and another hole appeared in the door.

“Okay, Kurama! Your move!”

Kurama ran up.

“Rose Whip!” Kurama used all his energy in that attack, and slashed the door. Then he fell to his knees, panting like the others.

The door shook. Yusuke grinned and walked up to the door. He kicked it, and it fell down, revealing a shocked Karasu.

“But how-? How did you-?” Yusuke smirked.

“It’s called ‘teamwork’, Karasu. You should try it sometime.”

He took the compact out of his pocket, and Botan’s face appeared.

“Is everything okay, Yusuke?”

“Hiei’s fine, and we’re on our way back out of the castle. What should we do with Karasu?”

Botan smiled, relieved that they were all okay. “I’ll take him in to Spirit World later. We’re surrounding the castle with a field that blocks demons, so give me the signal when you’re out.”

“Roger,” Yusuke replied, and shut the compact. He grinned at Karasu. “See you later, creepozoid.”

Karasu growled. “I will kill you all eventually…”

“No you won’t. We all have each other’s backs,” Yusuke said coldly. “C’mon, guys.”

They exited the castle, and the field went up.

“Okay Botan, can you pick us up?” Yusuke asked.

“One minute.”

Yusuke grinned. “C’mon, guys, we’re going home.”

1: I have no clue what this means, but I’ve seen it, so I decided to write it.

Well, guys, I think it was an okay story, it’s the first one that I’ve seen to the end. I know the ending was kinda little-kid happy ending, so tell me if you want an epilogue chapter or something like that or a sequel. If you want me to do that, tell me what you would want in it.

Hope you liked this story.

Review if you wish. Hopefully, because I have no ideas on my own for a sequel or epilogue.

Thank you for reading. ^_^
