I was rudely awaken by the annoying beeping of a familiar alarm clock, curious if the piece of crap had a death. Taking the battery powered clock I carelessly chucked it out the window not really interested in where it landed. My head was just about to hit the pillow when the doorbell rang, echoing throughout the house.

After figuring that I wasn't going to get any more sleep, I stepped out of bed and randomly grabbed a shirt and a pair of __(color of jeans)__ and put them on. The shirt I had grabbed had been a gift from my friend Neko. It said 'one by one the garden gnomes are slowly stealing my sanity'. I took my backpack and headed down stairs.

I saw my mother talking with our neighbor, Mr. Cain. I was just about to walk out the door when my mother saw me and asked, "___(your name)__ did you throw your alarm clock out the window this morning?"

"Yes, Why?"

"Because," my mother continued, "you broke Mr. Cain's brand new Mustang's windshield. You do know that both the windshield and your alarm clock are coming out of your allowance, right?"

"Ya, sure, whatever like I get an allowance anyway." I walked out the door without even saying good bye.

I reached school in no time flat thinking that the day couldn't get any worse. I reached my locker and put in the combination, I attempted to open it, it didn't budge. After five minutes and many attempts later my arm was soar and when I pulled the door flung open and smacked me right in the face. I just laid on the floor for another five minutes, took my stuff and ran to class.

My first class was Science, my worst subject and the worst teacher to boot. Mrs. Gump was horrible she told bad jokes and she was short tempered when it came to being later to her class.

I slowly and carefully pulled open the door to see that Mrs. Gump was teaching a lesson on the seven kingdoms. Almost to my, seat in front closets to the door was when she said, "Late again Miss. __(last name)__ well now you have a detent..." she was cut off by the P.A.

"Will __(full name)__ please report to the office, I repeat will __(full name)__ please report to the office Thank you."

"Sorry Mrs. Gump I'd love to have detent but I don't know what that is bye." I said making a quick exit.

I was walking down the hall wondering about what I did to get called down to the office. Caught up in my thoughts I did not notice that the door to the copy room had been opened and that a person with a huge stack of papers was walking out. I walked head first into the door causing me to fall backwards and the person with the papers to drop them all. My forehead was now bruised to match my cheek from my locker. I apologized and continued walking. I reached the office in what seemed like record time.

I walked in and stood there waiting till the secretary noticed me and told me that the principle would see me. I walked into the room and took a seat in the black leather chair facing the desk that the principle was sitting behind. The look on his face was of pure sympathy, and the look in his eyes were sad. "Well Miss. __(last name)__," He began, "I have some bad and unexpected news, You see I received a call from the hospital, Your mother, she was in a car accident and well you see they need someone to go to the morgue and identify the body. You are being given the rest of the school week off. I am truly sorry Miss. __(last name)__"

I wanted to cry but held back the tears and nodded slowly standing up I left the school grounds towards the hospital. I stood at the corners of maple and Cole to cross. not paying attention to the light or the walking signal I started to cross not seeing the huge simi heading my way.
