The second you got in the door everyone crowded around, demanding an explanation, but you simply handed Kurama to Yusukue and lead them towards the infirmary. He was soon taken into care while you and everyone else waited impatiently in the common room, though it was hard to tell what Hiei was feeling behind his usual stare. Yusukue and Kuwabara didn’t seem brave enough to question you when you looked this uneasy, but Hiei was daring and continued to glare at you.
You noticed and turned to him. “What Jaganshi?”
“What happened down there?”
“I’m not completely sure.” You sighed. “I was in my room when I saw a mist surrounding part of the forest and I caught up on Kurama’s scent. By the time I got there, he was unconscious by the dead body of a demon. Guess the demon was poisonous to of created that mist,” you were now looking out the window.
“And it took that long to get back? You were gone for hours,” Hiei said with his eyes narrowing even more.
You looked away blushing, but bit your lip and glared back. “Zip it Jaganshi. Your distrust of me is as sickening as your attitude. I was waiting for him to regain consciousness, all right?” You lied and walked off to the infirmary. You walked in to come face-to-face with one of the nurses. “How is he?” you asked looking at a sleeping Kurama.
“He’s fine, barely made it though. It’s good that you got here when you did or he would have died. Well I’ll leave you alone now,” she said with a bow.
“Hey wait Don’t leave me alone with... GAH ” you muttered as you turned to Kurama and smiled. “Nah, you’re too stubborn to have given in Red, but just rest up. I want to fight you again,” you said as you walked out the door.
Noticing one of the hallway clocks it was 9:49 [p.m.] and even from a mile away you could hear Yusukue and Kuwabara complaining they were hungry. You rolled your eyes before your stomach gave a growl. A [sweat drop] appearend on your head and you cleared your throat.
“They say Kurama’s gonna be all right but it’ll be a few days before he’s released from the infirmary.”
Yusukue and Kuwabara groaned. “Then who’s gonna cook? We’ll starve!”
You felt a wave of guilt suddenly knowing Kurama loved to cook, but decided it wouldn’t be too bad to fill in for a while. “Don’t worry, I’ll cook ”

Everyone laughed.

[ANIME VEIN] “And just what is so hilarious? I can cook just as good as that damn redhead in there ”
“It would be pointless. Might as well have our serving of arsenic now and join Kurama in the infirmary,” Hiei said glancing over to you from the windowsill with a smirk. Laughter exploded again as you clenched your fists and stomped into the kitchen, slamming and locking the door.
/I’ll show that midget who can cook. It can’t be that hard.../ you thought, scrambling through the drawers for cookbooks. You tossed several aside until you came to a French cuisine cookbook, which you had to have a French dictionary to understand. You skimmed each page before one recipe caught your eye called Poulet Saute, au Sauce Foie Gras. It was basically chicken in white wine, with cream and Foie Gras Sauce. Looking down the list of ingredients you got an [Anime Sweat Drop].
“Oh great. Where am I gonna get all this? Do I have to fly to France?” you muttered and spotted the fridge. You decided it wouldn’t hurt to see what you had to cook with, but there was nothing inside. Sighing, you closed it and noticed a knob on the door. You looked closely and saw it was set for ordinary American dish. There were more like Japanese, European, Mexican, Italian, (etc.), but the one that caught your eye was French Cuisine. Turning the knob, inside you heard some weird noise and when it stopped, you hesitantly put your hand on the door and opened it. Inside were piles of French foods and in the freezer were desserts and even wine. You stood there wide-eyed and your jaw dropped a moment before bursting out, “I LOVE SPIRIT WORLD ” You grabbed the ingredients and with the French dictionary helping you, you followed the preparation list in the cuisine cookbook step by step. You chopped carrots and onions, added in salt and freshly ground pepper, added teaspoons of this and cups of that, determined to make everything precise. Finally finished, you looked through all the cupboards and noticed they had knobs too. “This is too easy,” you said smirking as you turned the knob to fancy and with that same noise behind it, you opened the cupboard to see many fine plates, bowls, glasses, cups, spoons, forks, knives, all with very beautiful designs.
A slight sparkle lit your eyes as you gathered the dishes and set the table perfectly. Afterward, you passed out the food among all the plates and gathered a few candles. Setting them in the center, you lit them, dimming the rooms light to make the candles more noticeable, and then let out a sigh of relief. You were done and it was perfect.

/ [Evil laughter] I could be evil and eat it all, but there’s always time for revenge later./ You thought smirking to yourself. You then cleaned your dusted self up a bit before going into the common room. “DINNER’S SERVED ” you yelled echoing across the room.

All jaws dropped upon entering the room.
You smiled awkwardly at them. “ENJOY ” you yelled scooting them toward the table. Yusuke and Kuwabara, however, needed no encouraging. Immediately they sprang to their seats and began shoving their faces with food. When finished, you laughed at them adding, “Still have room for dessert I hope?” There were a series of groans as you brought everyone a chocolate mousse. They ate that happily as well.

“SOO GOOD ” Yusukue and Kuwabara said rubbing their stomachs as everyone else agreed. You smiled again.
“Told you! Now that I’ve cooked, you guys can clean up. Peace!” You waved and walked off to your room. Everyone yelled after you looking at the mess but you just smirked and made a dash upstairs yelling, “SUCKERS ”
Once there, you slammed the door with a small laugh and stretched. The wind had picked up and blew at your hair through the open balcony. You walked into it and sat on the railing. Gazing at the full moon, you sighed and fingered the small piece of string around your neck. You released its hold on you, revealing a small flute attached to the end. Holding it before you, memories came flooding in. When you were small you would always look forward to your brother playing the flute. He played magically and the mere harmony always made you drift off to sleep in contentment. Regardless, you clapped and cheered for him, always being rewarded by his smile and a pat on the head. He’d never let you even touch the flute before, but one night he tore a lace from his clothing and attached it to the flute. He placed it over your head saying, “Learn well, play well, little sister.” He kissed your head and you followed him like a little duckling. Since then you’d never been able to play like him, but still held onto the only thing you had left of him.

-Back to you now-
You fingered your brother’s flute in your hands, finally placing it at your mouth. You began to play, letting yourself be consumed in the melody. Your eyes remained closed until the end of the song, where upon opening them you faced two familiar amber eyes.
“Wha–What do you want Jaganshi?”
He looked at the flute in your hands and back at you, leaving with only a “Hn.”
You rolled your eyes with a smile and walked back into your room. After changing into a pair of boxers and a large tee, you collapsed onto your bed and slept.
