Yu Yu Hakusho: The Black Roses

Note: I know I have been putting it off for far too long, but...well, lets just say I'm sorry and I've been busy with school and other things. Now, I am finally on to work on a serious Yu Yu Hakusho rewrite.

Disclaimer: Don't own Yu Yu Hakusho. Never will. Do own Juu Kurai Yukio, however.

Another Note: This fic skips the Dead Then Revived Arc (it might not be what others call it, but, hell, I'm not others) the Artifacts of Darkness Arc, and the Genkai Tournament Arc, starting off just before the Maze Castle Arc. This fic also may or may not skip the Yukina Arc.

Chapter 1:
The Dark Roses Unveiled

The sun was just rising when a man stepped onto the roof of Sariyashki Jr. High. He stepped to the edge and turned around, looking at the door to the roof. His light blue hair flung around in the breeze, a couple bangs hanging infront of blood red eyes. He was wearing a robe as red as his eyes that fell to the ground. On each side of the robe an image of a black rose was sewn on. Underneath the robe his black t-shirt hung lazily over a pair of jeans with several chains clicking against each other. His hands hung at his side, each one holding a black rose in them. This was going to be interesting.

His blood red eyes continued staring intently at the door, as if waiting for someone, and then, finally, the door opened.

"About time..." The man muttered coldly. The newcomer had orange hair in a style that made it look like it came out of a 1970's movie. He was wearing a simple blue school uniform.

(Yet Another Note: The descriptions for Yuusuke and Kuwabara won't be the best, because it's just so hard to describe their odd hair and their boring outfits...)

"What did you want with me?" He asked.

The man stepped down from his perch on the edge of the roof. "You say you're the toughest around town, I want to challenge that." His mouth curled up into a sneer as he tossed the roses into the air.

"Roses? Are you some sorta gay-man or something?" The orange-haired person asked.

"Of course not...just all the more easier to kill you with!" He extended his arms, hands open. Once the roses fell down to within his grasp, he closed his fist around them. His eyes flared and the black roses emitted a somewhat bright dark light.

The stems extended out until they were a good length and made themselves pointy, resembling the blade of a sword. The flower head itself turned into the base of the blade and a hilt grew out of the flower. The way he was holding the flowers before the transformation had the blades pointed towards his feet. He twirled them once so that the blades were pointing upwards. He relaxed his arms and in a flurry, ran at the Orange-Haired Man before he knew what was coming.

The Orange-Haired Man's eyes widened and suddenly put his arms out. "Rei Ken!" A long, yellow-ish sword appeared in his hands. The other man jumped into the air.

"Die!" He brought the rose-swords down on him, shocked that he actually he had time to maneuver against his swords. He jumped back off and looked at the roses, concentrating. One of them, the blade thinned out, the hilt dissapeared, and the flower itself hardened, turning into a staff. The other one simply shortened everything to turn into a knife. He ran fowards and took a stab with the knife at the orange-haired man, who instinctively blocked with the sword. He then took the staff and began whacking him with the staff in his head. The yellow sword soon dissapated and the orange-haired man was soon on the edge of the building. The man smirked and poked the orange-haired one with the tip of the staff, knocking him backwards, losing his balance and falling off the roof. As he fell, The other man retransformed the roses to normal, and tossed one to the falling man. The man thumped onto the ground painfully, falling into unconsciousness, and the rose landed softly on the man's chest.

The other one ran towards the edge of the building and jumped off, dissapearing into the few remaining shadows of morning...

Juu-Kun: Yes, short, I know. That's what most of the first chapters are going to be until we actually get towards the Makai. Either way, I hope you like it.

By the way, this is the first in a series. Not telling what the names of the other ones are, though ^_~.
