That was just...wow. I have no idea how to comment. **thinking...** I loved it! it threw me for a loop and it was so powerful in all that it portrayed--war and man's bloodthirsty ambitions and how violence begets more violence. How hardship hardens the heart. **sniff* And the ENDING! GAH! That was precious and heart wrenching. He, at last, got it. He met his friend again and got peace and it made my eyes water, Sue. Really. To think, this started with a triva question **high 5 to Evan Lover** Wow, I'm utterly impressed! This story is wonderful!

Wow! This story was fantastic! You captured so much in such a short tale. Your vocabulary is superb... so poetic *sighs* making every word count. I admire people who can write one'shots, and this one, is one of the best ones I've ever read. I don't know this people, but you made me 'feel' for them

You never cease to amaze me. Not only your fanfiction, but your original stories and all of your one-shots are absolutely wonderful. The plot is so well thought out in everything you do, and you don't conform to how others want your stories to go, which is why I adore your stories. I know I don't need to say this, but keep on writing, firstly for yourself, but also for those who can't survive without your writing! ~Kim~

Great! I really love how you managed to make your characters 3-dimensional in such a short time. Your writing is very good. I would reccomend trying to be more specific and reality-based, but since this is a fairy tale story, the lack of detail works well. However, I have to wonder if you researched Japanese culture much before writing this. As a European/Western fairy tale it works beautifully, but as a Japanese tale...not as much. Japanese fairy tales tend to be more concretely based in reality than Western fairly tales. The amount of knowledge present in the story says that you are an anime fan, but not one who has made a serious study of Japanese mythology(which is very different from anime). I reccomend brushing up on your research techniques when you write original stories.

I'm not one of those reviewers who give a story all 10s just for the heck of it. I do my best to see a problem and help. "Enervate" had no said problems, so this is going to be a bit difficult. My goal is to not gush and go explanation-mark crazy on you but this is an exception. OMGsh!!! That story was so wicked awesome!! You absolutely rock~!~!!! ^___________^ *laughs* Okaaay, and now for some structure: My favorite part of this story was the flow and smoothness of it all. The metaphors you used (to paraphrase--"...colored the pungent air..."; "...hungry fire..." and so on. I completely butchered your way of writing, but that's what I remember on the top of my head.) helped make the story real. When people see something, they don't just see that one thing, because in our mind's eye they're constantly making connections. That's one of the things that made your story so alive, the connections. I also like the way "Enervate" ended. A satisfying ending that leaves one thinking. I'm running out of characters so I'll have to stop there. Overall, this One-Shot was spectacular. Thank you.

That story was simply amazing. The detail and the wording was extraordinary. I was simply blown away. This is one of few stories that I have enjoyed so much. You must consider taking up a professional writing career!

This is a good story and I am glad that you entered it into the contest. There were a few points that I found a little slow toward the middle -- but I loved the beginning and the end. The characters were well done and very vivid even though you didn't have a lot of space to work with. Congratulations on a job well done, hun!

Oh my... what a touching little story... it reminds me of another story that i read recently that talked about how a man was searching for his princess, but was indeed searching for the moon... this was excellant... do you write other fics? This story was wonderful...beuatiful and mysterious, you did a superb job Sue! Though it does leave me a little confused..if she Hoshikata did die..how is it that she tells the story? Perhaps I need to read it again.... Anyway..once again, amazing work.
