I really enjoyed your story. You beautifully kept the characters real and true to themselves. You did a wonderful job capturing Kenshin gentleness toward Kaoru and his intense anger where appropriate. Most authors seem to get those aspects wrong, making either the gentle side or his darker side caricatures. Well done.

I give it four stars! Good plot, holds the reader's interest. This story really keeps the reader on their toes, wondering what will happen next. It's obvious that Kenshin and Kaoru will get together, but the question is when and how. The foreigner was a nice touch, along with the rather surprising bout of revenge. This story is different from others that are similar in that it completely excludes Kenshin's alternate personality (aka Hitokiri Battousai). Battousai is mentioned, but is excluded from both the details and the plot--not a bad thing, but it won't appeal to the rapid Battousai fans (we know you're out there...). I'm usually one for Battousai-Kaoru fanfics, but this story was a nice change of pace. I recommend it to any Kenshin-Kaoru fan that doesn't flip out when Battousai isn't present.
