This is a really good idea. I like what you've done so far, and am looking forward to seeing how Kenshin deals with the nasty blow you've dealt him! You've done great job portraying grief. One thing, and actually it has to do with the summary, not your writing. You might want to consider leaving off the "better than it sounds" part. Your summary is fine just the way it is, and you should be proud of what you've done :) Good stuff! I really like it!
