There are quite a few of them, hence the 5 for originality, yet you did include some creative ideas, which (I think at least) is much more difficult in an overwritten plot than starting with an original premise. Erik's personality was expressed well in your writing style, especially the lack of imagery; his musings aren't impeded by too many poetic devices. I enjoyed the story so much due to the thought that went into it, especially the comparison between Erik's transformation into Magneto and Raven's into Mystique; Raven seems to (inadvertantly) make herself an easy candidate for reintegration because she has adaper her whole life. Of course that begs the question of whether she did utterly repudiate Erik, after all he expected the ambush in X3. (This is probably just an extension of his tactical expertise, but it's amazing how much subtext a reader can see in the films if they have read a thoughtful fic like yours.) The little details in this fic were also really entertaining - Raven's pardon and Erik's refusal to accept Charles' death, which mirrors his refusal to abadon his cause. I could point out that you have decided that Magneto and Mystique had a purely Platonic relationship, even if their dealings extended outside of the cause, which is a refreshing change from all the angst-filled "Mystique's unrequited love" or "Well, we were lovers, but then I had a character transplant that made my actions totally illogical, woe is Erik" fics. Overall, a really good job.
