Just had to tread through this again. I am hoping and praying that the Hiei/Kagome pairing is NOT part of the deception. This is my all-time favorite couple, and I think you can do them justice better than most. I am anticipating, (and am probably wrong), a good part of this story to focus perhaps on how Hiei and Kagome met, their "courtship"/relationship, and how he has kept it from the others all this time as being part of the "smoke and mirrors." After all, how old is that oldest son? (And, BTW, how old are the detectives in this one? Kagome called them boys.) Kagome mentioning her husband is a bit disturbing, in light of the fact that her involvement with Hiei seemed obvious -- at least to Kurama's observant eye. Yusuke picked up on the children's resemblance to Hiei, and the black blur of movement the youngest demonstrated certainly encouraged his assumption. And that is what has me so nervous. I really, really DO hope this is Hiei/Kag and not a smokescreen he is participating in to protect her or something of the sort. But, I will just have to keep reading to find out like everyone else, ne? This first chapter is quite a hook!

OMG!!! I was so excited to see a new story by you!!!! I love Hiei and Kagome stories and since you are my favoritest author ever, I know that this will be yet another awesome story. I understand your reasons for not updating your other stories, and while I'm dying to know what happens next (as the rest rest of your fans are)I know that good things come to those who wait. And what better way to wait then to read another great story. I hope that you will be able to update this fic soon, I just can't get enough of Kagome and Hiei (although I do love Kags and Kurama together too). ~Lola

I luv you so much lol, and am so delighted that you put up something again. Your stuff is fantastic and can't wait to see what else you have in store for us because I remember that you always throw in a few wrenches and extreme plot twists that take your stories in a different direction than all the other same-ol-same-ol crossover plots. Thank you so much for being a fantastic writer
