It's so well written and the characterizations are perfect. I love the dialogue between Jaken and Rin; it shows their natural rapport. This was beautifully heartfelt and introspective, and I really love the ending. It's so befitting of Sesshoumaru's character. And to top it all, you're inspired by Depeche Mode, which is awesome and makes me giddy. I'll definitly look forward to future installments.

I love seeing things from Sessh's perspective. I'm pretty tired right now so this might not all make sense... I like the way in which you portray, without stating, how much he needs both Rin and Jaken, from an emotional standpoint. Not that he'd ever adimt it, even to himself, but it's there all the same. His growing awareness of how much he'd relied on her understanding of him is interesting to witness. I'm a big fan of Songfics, simply because I love music, but I'm not always such a big fan of how many of them are written, with the lyrics interspersed with the text. It's a personal prefrence, nothing more. I still love the story; the plot is good and I love introspective inner dialoge, expecially from someone like Lord Sesshomaru and ESPECIALLY when he's realizing he actually CARES for someone. Ah, to torture the mighty! Anyway... Personally, I prefer the lyrics before or after the work; I like to make my own infrences on what inspired what. Either way, the story is solid and the language and tone are great. BTW, I DO love the tone you use for Sesshomaru. I'm not sure I could even describe it, but I know that it's similar in all your work with him in it and it fits him to a T. Great job...

Sesshomaru can't express his feelings, and Rin can read him like a book. He's finally realized that he doesn't want her to leave him when presented with that possible threat. She was so in character: quite, shy, and yet still in control, while Sesshomaru was IC as well, not able to say what he would like to because that just isn't the way he does things. I really enjoyed this, and it was very well done. I hope we get to see their relationship progress through the series.

I really enjoyed the exchanges between Rin and Jaken, how their relationship has grown warmer, yet the insults are still there. And here Sess is feeling possessive yet doesn't actually see the emotions for what they are. He says the same words, but his inflection has softened. It is always her choice. I like that you have Rin a young woman here, and how it seems that Sess is just realizing that she is one, and not the same child she was. His dawning of appreciation for what they have together was VERY well done. The piece left me wanting for more, in the sense that it made it clear to the reader that more was to come. I look forward to the rest in the series!
