Title: You're so mean to Esther! Reviewed By: green eyed feme [MediaMiner Member] On: September 26, 2007 13:39 CDT Comment/Review: However, this was hillarious. You should write more about the annoying thing she did to push the android over the edge. I agree with you that she can get a bit irritating at times, but I still like this character. Go figure

Title: Please pardon the late reply. Reviewed By: dragon88 [MediaMiner Member] On: June 30, 2007 05:36 CDT Comment/Review: Your reasons are perfectly understandable. She is much more enjoyable in the manga, in fact, that's actually the reason I have grown to like her so. In the anime, she wasn't too terrible, but...I can definitely see where you're coming from with the writers not seeming to know what to do with her character. Really...they didn't seem to have the slightest clue in the universe what to do with her. 8\ That was...quite irritating. And thanks very much for answering my question~!

Title: Dragon88's Question Reviewed By: darkephoenix [MediaMiner Member] On: June 07, 2007 12:36 CDT Comment/Review: Concerning my dislike of Esther, here is at least part of my reasoning. First, no covert operations team in the universe would allow an untrained individual into their ranks but that's a plot issue. Second, is her incessant whining. If you're going to willingly put yourself into a dangerous situation you should be aware there could be dire consequences without sniveling. Third, being afraid of Abel in Crusnik even after he'd saved her. Fourth, is the issue of the anime writers not seeming to really know what to do with her character. One minute she's a halfway decent and strong character then next a simpering idiot. There are a myriad of other reasons that I won't list here. But for the most part I think she's a weak female lead at best in the anime. I do like her much better in the manga as there seems to be more insight and work on her character development. BTW, I also think Kagome is an irritating little bit of brain dead fluff as well. I know I'll probably get indignant notes on that one too. Hope that answers your question.

Reviewed By: dragon88 [MediaMiner Member] On: June 07, 2007 08:17 CDT Rating(s):Overall Rating: 4 of 10 Comment/Review: Lawl. I'm upset over it, yes, but I derive humor from it at the same time because I'm exactly the same way over another character in another fandom. Have been for *years* now. Meryl Strife from Trigun. I absolutely cannot stand her, and when I was younger, I would write pages and pages of hate for her. She just *irritated* me. Still does, of course, but I've learned to keep it under control. And have fairly decent reasons for dislike. And Kagome from Inu Yasha as well. It seems to be vice-versa in that fandom though, people unreasonably adore her and loath Kikiyo for no reason. Probably just do it because it's trendy. However, I'm quite sure that you have a decent reason of your own for disliking the little red-headed nun. And yet, I just cannot resist asking: for what reason do you loath Esther so?
