You needed a bit more exposition to make this a bit more believable. Reno, as a Turk, is one of the best. Seriously, he ain't the pretty little twink everyone makes him out to be and just because he got his ass-kicked so hard in AC doesn't change a damned thing. Yazoo and Loz were incarnations of Sephiroth. Superhuman. Reno and Rude, by contrast, are mere mortals, though highly trained. The fact that they could hold their own is impressive enough. Another thing, Reno would die for Shinra. He is one of the most loyal Turks. He would not betray Rufus, Tseng, Elena, or Rude. It's just not happening. He would fight tooth and nail to get out of this situation. Betraying Shinra would not even be an option for him. As such I felt Reno's conflict in the beginning to be wildly OOC. This is not a flame. Personally I'm sick and eff-ing tired of seeing Reno portrayed as a victem when he's anything but. It's tiresome and I thought I'd actually say something about it instead of just brooding on the matter. I hope you take these words to heart.
