"The Lion, the Cat and the Turtles" Reviews/Comments [ 2 ] | Title: AUTHOR'S REPLY Reviewed By: Roo the Roo [MediaMiner Member] On: June 24, 2008 04:24 CDT Comment/Review: Thank you for the review, Seahorse Feathers! Unfortunately, the next chapter has presented me with a set of minor problems that have led to a bad case of writer's block... which is why I haven't updated the story in a few months now. But I haven't given it up and will be back with it as soon as I find a way of making it work. As for your other comments: I like Moorwin too, and the Red Lady is a joy to write. When it comes to the genie... well, I knew that introducing a genie in a Narnia story was a risky move, and since this genie is more a product of Calormen than of Narnia, I agree that she might feel a little out of place. Still, there IS a reason for her to be here, and she will play a key role in wrapping up at least one of the Narnian plotlines. Hopefully her presence will make at least a little more sense in the end.

The original characters are interesting, Moorwin is my favorite. The Red Lady is an interesting villain and I like how she's kind of amusing (immature, vain, acts like she must be very young compared to the witches in the books) but still vicious. I can't really judge how in-character the Turtles are since I don't know much about them. Puddleglum definitely sounds like himself. The genie is probably the story element that works the least for me, but that may change depending future events.
