Aah. An update. And such a good one! I was wondering just how you were going to set up the male characters presence on this pleasure isle without impugning their characters too much (although of course, Miroku would have been there before - and I particularly liked the line about choosing one's battles carefully). Well, I hope you won't make us wait so long for the next chapter to this quite compelling storyline!

Very nice. Descriptions are vivid without being overwhelming, and the contextual background - the barrier, etc. - are all neatly explicated in a way that felt very natural. The women's professions make perfect sense, and I particularly liked Rin's characterization. I look forward to reading more about her backstory. The prologue was well-done as well; the characters acted age-appropriate, and didn't say too much, thank you! The Sango/Miroku interaction was very enjoyable, and Miroku's self-confidence seemed a perfectly reasonable aspect of his background. I hope you have this story plotted out and will be updating frequently.

I know I just made a comment maybe an hour ago, but I read the second chapter, and the first (official) chapter was REALLY good. It really intrugued (sp?) me!!!! :)
