Wow, I liked it. The short choppy snapshot pace broke up the angst, which might have been unbearable in one huge chunk. The introspection was great- it seems you spent a lot of time on this, perhaps collecting little drabbles and piecing them together where appropriate. I think it came together well and the ending was a great touch, lifting the mood perfectly. Couple of typos near the beginning. All in all great job.
