That's a very different interaction between the characters than I'd expected, but I think it works given Kenshin's character (that he'd look at his friend as young, inexperienced and plan to let him lead the encounter). Nicely done.

Nice. Very nice ^_^ As others have said, you're imagery is beautiful. You really get a good sense of setting and feeling in this fic. Not a lot of authors have that ability. Be proud. The only thing that I caught was the useage of the word "man" repeatedly, almost to the point of annoyance. Not only does it cause redundancy, but it sometimes confuses more than clarifies. In the future, I suggest a little more diversity when referring to the characters. Other than that, I think you did a great job. If it wasn't 2am, I'd be off to read something else by you ^_^ but, sadly, reality sucks, and I have to go to work in a few hours. But plan on finding another review from me within the next few days! (ps... please don't be offended by my wording criticism!! I really do think you're great!)

Your writing is so f---ing good (excuse my French) I don't understand why there aren't a ton of reviews here. Anyway, this is the first Rurouni Kenshin fic I've ever read and I can't wait to read the sequel. I love how you write, your imagery is just beautiful. I'm gonna go read the sequel right... now! |

I love this. It's the best fic on the net that I've read for this title. I was very pleased with this story -- I actually read it more than once.
