"Carried Away" Reviews/Comments [ 6 ] | Reviewed By: o0kittyblue0o [MediaMiner Member] On: June 19, 2009 20:50 CDT Comment/Review: This is like the third time I've read this *and I have a MM account now YAY!* so just want to let you know that every time I read this I get teary eyed and just start drawing more Hiei/Kagome scenes. Do you think it'd be alright if I made like a cover art type thing for this story?

I've got my song and story set in my head, but I've got to finish the little fic I'm working on before I write it up. ^_^ I'm not familiar with the song you chose, so I will have to look it up. You seemed to match your story with the lyrics nicely. Kagome's willingness to sacrifice herself for love always resonates true with me. And Hiei being unwilling, and ultimately UNABLE to let her go to her death alone makes for a dramatic moment. Really, your last line was brilliant. "And so, he went for the god's throat." The perfect ending. I know a lot of people are going to ask you to continue this so we can see them get to be together, (and NO ONE is a bigger fan of a happy ending than I am!), but I absolutely agree with your decision to leave it here. It's ... right. Nice work. ^_^

I think the point comes across nicely as it is, and it doesn't matter how it comes out (although I know we all root for the happy ending, don't we?). Even if they are both killed for it, the message is loud and clear--Kagome would not, could not let Hiei be punished in her place, and Hiei would not, could not stand by and allow her to be killed for something that was just as much his doing as hers, and unjust to boot. Nice tension building right up to the end, too--makes it all the more arresting when it just crescendos and stops. Congrats on a work of art. Cheers!
