This is really good so far! Very realistic character development, teenagers are always the hardest when it comes to that. I'm wondering what happened to Kagome's mom...anyway, the only (and I seriously mean only, no grammar mistakes or anything) problem I have with this is you don't have any spaces between paragraphs, kinda makes the whole thing look likes a big blob of words, it's a little off-putting. But like I said, other than that, great! Keep up the good work!
