The fear that what happened to his father happening to him or his loved ones. He lived so long with the fear of his hand that it would take years of psychotherapy to recover from it, and since he doesn't have a psychiatrist around he has to get over it himself. It might be interesting to see a sequel to this in which he confides in Kaede about the dreams and Inuyasha overhears. Inuyasha's attempts to help his friend could be hilarious, because of course he would try to help. Under that gruff exterior beats a heart of gold that, with Kagome's acceptance, shows itself more.
