Reviewed By: kokoronagomu [MediaMiner Member] On: July 28, 2010 11:25 EDT Comment/Review: like a square peg in a round hole... ? actions speak louder than words-- physical closeness in japan is only for people who are intimately associated and very rarely if ever in public --but kagome is always leaning on inuyasha, he carries her, she shows spontaneous affection in times of stress, he risks his life for her safety-- surely she sees beyond to notice how vulnerable he is. with him even attempting to explain to her, she should see the effort and the emotional risk he's taking to expose himself in such a way. ټ

Reviewed By: kokoronagomu [MediaMiner Member] On: January 14, 2010 16:16 EST Comment/Review: i understand the cultural differences in the attitude and opinion of western as opposed to the japanese about the subjugation/punishment. he doesn't act like it's all that big a deal. he curses at her when he goes down and then he's just fine (except when he's under a boulder when it happens, or she says it repeatedly), there's also the fact that she doesn't get all that freaked when he runs at the mouth. men in japan are not gentlemen, there is no chivalry-- and he treats her typically for a japanese man. i understand the reasoning and her feelings about his attitude and his not wanting to be touched after she said that-- although if you had used 'osuwari' instead of sit, she would have never made the mistake because 'osuwari' is a dog's command and not what you would say when telling a person to 'sit'. ♣ poor poor stupid people. ♥ CONGRATULATIONS!! ♥

Reviewed By: kokoronagomu [MediaMiner Member] On: September 25, 2009 23:18 EDT Comment/Review: ah, movies aren't in the original manga canon but i really loved that scene. ♣ she does scream she loved him right before he broke in and saved her from kagura and akago -the evil heart baby. there was no way he couldn't have heard her with his hearing- he was right outside and she yelled it. -she implied he was good enough when she was naked in the sake in toukajin's kitchen, he was giving her his suikan, mentioned reluctantly that it might feel strange as it was soaked in blood-- she said it wouldn't because it was his. --she really had him confused at the end of that episode. -- ♥

Reviewed By: kokoronagomu [MediaMiner Member] On: September 14, 2009 01:50 EDT Comment/Review: one would think that he envies the ease at which kagome and shippo can express their emotions for eachother-- and if she could love a full youkai child would she have been able to love an orphan hanyou child had it been him instead. at least, that was what i was thinking. also wishing he could be as open with her-- i don't know- i'm just rambling and my head isn't fully attached yet-- need more coffee! ♥

Reviewed By: kokoronagomu [MediaMiner Member] On: September 04, 2009 13:13 EDT Comment/Review: THIS is where there is a failure to communicate. when there are reasons and motivations for doing things-- nobody has the ability to read minds (except for certain naraku spawned abominations), and one feels that laying all one's cards on the table eliminates misunderstandings and opens the way for dialog and discussion... then again, we're talking about an immature and hormonal teenage girl and an emotionally scarred victim of years of intolerance and abuse-- dialog isn't going to happen unless one of them grows up a little emotionally. ♥;

Reviewed By: kokoronagomu [MediaMiner Member] On: July 23, 2009 08:29 EDT Comment/Review: 'inu'-- sounds like a nickname for a bellybutton >=\ i prefer the much more masculine and less bellybutton sounding: 'yasha'. ♣ one would think that if she's the one he stays with, returns to, protects with his life... ♦ yeah, i was sheltered when i was sixteen and wasn't allowed to date (dating was something we were taught was done to choose a marriage mate- we went out in chaperoned groups where pairing off was not tolerated), so i had crushes but never had time to dwell on them because we'd be off doing something else with a different group. ♣ i can see her insecurities in this and in the english dubbed anime- but in the manga and in the original japanese language anime- the whole so-called 'love triangle' isn't emphasized, not that there isn't tension it was more geared toward her fear of his belief that he should die with kikyou than the whole 'who's he love more'. ♠ -i hate the dubs! they mispronounce the names, they use the 'd' word instead of the non-translatable 'youkai, mononoke and oni' ('demon' in japanese is 'akuma'- a word never mentioned in the japanese manga or anime), and they pontificate the whole 'love triangle' thing. ♥ sorry-- *steps down from soapbox* you portrayed her emotions extremely realistically! ♣ delighted, ginny ♥

Reviewed By: kokoronagomu [MediaMiner Member] On: July 11, 2009 17:12 EDT Comment/Review: oh i wasn't meaning jealousy like he felt with kouga-- more like an envy- the ease that shippo can express his affection freely, maybe wishing that he could open up so easily. probably a little wishing he could be hugged and snuggled by kagome too, and then realizing his emotionality and how he would perceive it as vulnerability- dismisses it with disgust. ♣ poor guy, why doesn't he get a 'go between' and then he wouldn't have to go through the trauma of exposing his vulnerability-- the custom is still widely practiced in japan so it would be a viable alternative, i'm wondering if his brother could set it up, i'm sure kaede could set it up or even act as a go between. ♠ and i was curious about what miroku was going to say. ♦ delighted, ginny ♥

Reviewed By: kokoronagomu [MediaMiner Member] On: July 11, 2009 01:14 EDT Comment/Review: either he is jealous of shippo, or he's jealous of shippo. maybe she should start giving everyone hugs when she wakes up so nobody feels left out... ♣ how can someone who's never had friends before know for sure that he has friends- no wonder he's confused. i'm thinking of a really old disney movie called 'dog of flanders' where a boy and his grandfather save a half dead, abused dog. the dog was angry and aggressive at first, but with patience and kindness they were able to slowly gain its trust- learned friendship. youtube.com/watch?v=2f_3kVwIGGk -♦- delighted, ginny ♥

Reviewed By: kokoronagomu [MediaMiner Member] On: July 09, 2009 08:07 EDT Comment/Review: nice! i don't think i read this one yet. one would wonder-- kagome would make him feel completely different than kikyou made him feel. i'm sure that kikyou with her quiet dignity and tolerance for his youkai half, her grudging devotion to duty, her education, etc. would have made him feel completely different- possibly a subdued love with the underlying bias and mistrust. kagome with her fiery kinetic personality, her open acceptance and warmth, her affectionate nature (if you notice in manga that she's always leaning on him, grabbing his hand... touch is very important), would incite his passion and prod of his emotions. ♣ this is a great story and there are too few reviews! ♠ a pleasure, ginny ♥
