You're right, you have been listening to Rob Thomas too much, but generally speaking, this was beautifully written. A horrible tragedy that happened far too often back in those days, I'm sure. I couldn't even imagine what the pain would be like for Kagome if something like that truly took place, which - fortunately - will never happen in any of my stories (Mating Season came close, but Tenseiga came to the rescue). Everyone's fanfic universe is different, however, and while I don't "do" sad all that often, myself, some people are avid angst writers. For what it was, like I said, it was beautifully written. And I don't think you're a Sango hater. ;-)
