Cute... I'm not quite sure why they moved to America if the whole reason they stayed in the 'present' was so that Kagome could have Inuyasha and her family. But then again, we don't know how much time has passed, and you didn't mention one thing or another about her having youkai aging, so maybe they did the family thing for quite a while and then decided to move away from the well...the painful reminders. Either way, this was a really cute little one-shot. One thing I loved was that for once in a fanfic, mixing in a touch of Japanese with the English was literal! You almost never see Kagome speaking English in a non-AU that doesn't involve her and Inuyasha both living through the last five hundred years. All in all I really enjoyed this. Keep up the good work!
